The property was easy to find with David's instructions. Really lovely quiet location, great views and really easy access to Windermere and beyond.
Would highly recommend the property for people wanting to stay in the Lake District. As an added point, I really appreciated the responsiveness of David and Sharon. When I left a small item behind they more than happily arranged for this to be posted back which was above and beyond!

Location beautiful and surrounding amenities great. House size good for 4 adults and a dog. Cleanliness of house not to the standard of other VRBO homes I have experienced. Some of the outside furniture not fit for purpose. We struggled with keeping the gas fires on as they gave off a very potent smell.

The cottage is lovely, just as the pictures would suggest. It's more overlooked than we had thought, in terms of proximity to other properties. Beds were very comfortable and it was great that the owners were able to provide 2 cots and highchairs for our twins. All in all we had a lovely stay.
The location was great, and we did manage to book for dinner at the Tower Bank Arms which was delicious. Being a short drive to Hawkshead and Ambleside was ideal. And a visit to Wray Castle made for a lovely day out.
Finding buggy-friendly walks was a challenge, but there are a few to be had as long as the roads are quite as there aren't many you can do avoiding roads entirely. Wray Castle and Grizedale Forest had walks we could all do.
For us, with the under 2s, it would have been better to have a contained outdoor space. We weren't able to relax outside as there was no way of stopping the toddlers roaming down the driveway towards the hotel, which was a bit of a shame. And the lack of towels or a bathmat was something that bothered me more than I thought it would when I was booking.
If there are two things I'd advise the owners to change, it would be providing towels and more than 2 dishwasher tablets for a family of 6 for a week 😆.
We did find our stay very enjoyable and whoever else books this idyllic cottage in such a beautiful part of the country will too.

This cottage was excellent and made the perfect base of our week in the Lake District. It was tastefully furnished and well equipped for our stay. The communication from the owners was great and the local pubs and restaurants all provided good food.

A very pleasant and charming cottage, equipped with the necessities tucked away off the road nearby. All you hear most of the day and all night is the sheep in the fields. A beautiful view of the small lake nearby. Many easy walks right from the front door.

Fantastic location
Fantastic location and view of the lake. Everything we needed as a family of two couples, a baby and dog. Very easy to find and access. Recommend taking the ferry to Windermere. Great stay!

Fabulous well equipped cottage
We stayed as a group of 6 adults and 2 dogs. Each night we did a 'come dine with me' style dinner and took turns cooking. The cottage was very well equipped with all cooking utensils we required. Bedrooms are large and spacious. Lounge has loads of fun games to play in the evening. The location was fabulous too in a quiet lane not far from Ambleside. You can even walk from the cottage up to Moss Eccles Tarn. Thank you for a wonderful time.

This property had everything you need for a stay in the Lake District. We filled the cottage with three generations including a baby and a dog but everything we needed was here. EE’s Wyke Cottage March 20
Cottage was very comfortable and in a beautiful setting, it was unfortunate that our getaway coincided with the Covid 19 lockdown so we were unable to make the most of our Lake District holiday, that said we still found some lovely local walks for our dogs. I would love to visit again

A perfect base to explore the lakes
The property was the perfect place to stay for our walks in the lakes, we actually only took our car out once in the weeks stay as we could easily walk to hill tops, lakes, great pubs and trails from the cottage. The views are outstanding and the owner a pleasure to deal with, we'll be back :)

Great location
We had a lovely stay in the cottage and the help and advice from David and Sharon throughout the process was great. This is a fantastic location to get to all the key landmarks from and there are two excellent pubs within walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our week.

Great place to base yourselves in the Lake District
We had a wonderful week in Ees Wyke Cottage with our children (12 & 10). The house is beautiful and very well equipped. The location is perfect if you’re looking for a quieter spot in the Lakes whilst being well-positioned to reach Hawkshead, Ambleside and Windermere and more within a short drive. The Tower Bank Arms is just a few minutes walk away and serves good food and local beers. We would definitely stay here again- it’s a real gem!

Happy Days at Ees Wyke cottage
We spent a wonderful two weeks at Ees Wyke Cottage. Location was great for walks locally and accessing many other beautiful areas.
Cottage is clean, comfortable and full of character, with all mod cons.
Garden was wonderful, given that we were lucky with the weather.
Both ourselves and the 2 dogs agreed that we could well spend another two weeks there.

Stay at Ees Wyke Cottage
Just returned form a wonderful week in the Lake District staying at Ees Wyke Cottage.
Impressions and experience very positive, with Ees Wyke Cottage being a fabulous holiday home in a beautiful location. Rooms all light and airy and of a generous size with all facilities we could wish for. Front garden enjoyed late day sun and was a special place to be watching sunset with a glass of wine! All elements of the booking and pre-stay procedure were efficient and the stay itself excellent. This was helped by a week of fabulous weather, which you can never take for granted in the Lakes. The area was quiet, but still central and in easy reach of shops / pubs / restaurants etc.
Would certainly return

Lovely cottage in a brilliant location
We stayed for a week with my sister and brother in law in April. The rooms were all of a generous size and the kitchen was well equipped. The owner has left lots of walking books which really helped us explore the area as well as a cupboard of board games which kept us entertained in the evenings. We can thoroughly recommend the local pub The Tower Bank Arms, you will need to book for a meal though.
