The reception restaurant is far from the hotel and hotel room was quite dusty.

You can do check-in online but you still need to get key in restaurant which is in 500m. Extra walk with luggage and kid is not what I expect from Boutique hotel. I had 4 towels in my shower but no one hanger for it.

Great location very close to the train station on a quiet road, BUT you had to walk to the furthest of their 2 properties (twice as far - about 10 minutes) where they have an Italian restaurant to get the key when you checked in. Their is NO STAFF at this hotel, but the staff at the restaurant were very nice! When checking out, if you have prepaid, you can just leave the key in the room to go to the train station which is very convenient. Room was a very nice size, very good TV, with some channels in English (Dutch captioned), circular stairs to the floors above (no elevator). Smell of chocolate throughout the neighborhood as their is a very large chocolate processing plant across the street. Very comfortable bed (king size!). Nice small fridge in the room. Very quiet. Only a 12 minute walk to Zaandijk Zaanse Schans windmill area which is quiet picturesque. Go EARLY or LATE to avoid the throngs of tourists who arrive by bus. Stores opened at 10:00AM there. Get there before that to enjoy the views, then stay beyond 10:00 to enjoy the tourist shops. Worth seeing. Italian restaurant had a pizza. We did not get Italian dishes as they were heavy with garlic, and even the restaurant smells heavily of garlic (not to our liking).

See above about no staff at the hotel, and having to walk further to get your key. Also, our key we got on day one of our 3-day stay did not work the 2nd day. So, we had to ring them on the phone and they brought a new key card down to us that did work. BEWARE: the shower is extremely modern with no door or threshold, and the faucet is NOT EASY TO FIGURE OUT! My wife did not have her glasses on when she started it, and the water came with such force out of the rain shower end that it flooded the entire bathroom before she figured out how to turn it off and also how to get the hand-held shower to work. They need some general directions in a number of languages in the bathroom to aid travelers when they arrive. If you can figure out how to use it before you flood the room, then it is a good shower. Not a lot of light above the mirror in the bath and little to no counter space next to the sink. No places to eat near this hotel. Their Italian restaurant is about a 10 minute walk. There is an excellent bakery about 3 minutes walk further up the street on the right that serves very good coffee as well. No breakfast with the room.

We arrived late at the hotel due to public transportation strikes. We appreciated the fact that the staff waited for us to come to hand us the keys. So thank you for this!!

if there is a zero as a rate i would give a zero , first when we reached the hotel, the hotel door is closed and there is no instructions or gps location to tell us where to go , we called the hotel several times and they didnt say anything how we can check in, finally they give us a loctaion, we reached there and then they told us you take the key from here and you go to another location, when we finally reached the room we were shocked that the sheets and pillow cases are not changed and there is hair on them the towels are dirty and there is lipstick on one of them the bathroom sink was dirty and i had to clean it my self so i can feel ok to use it there is no water in the room not even to do a cup of coffee they didnt even put the coffee capsules to do a coffee the AC was making a sound all night that you cant ignore it and sleep it was a disaster in all ways.

we received the lowest floor room and i can comment only on this. in general the room was fairly good, big enough and with effective air condition. the bathroom was inconvenient. in the room there was a bed comoda only on one side, no trash basket so always have to go to the toilet. in the bathroom there is no partition between bath and toilet and the water spreads over that one should always work to collect the water back. there is no shelf at the bathroom to put soap, only in the toilet section. no shampoo, no body lotion, only bath gel in an awkward packaging with no convenient place to put and use it. the bathroom door is a moving type door that does not close hermetically to avoid smells diffusion to the room. the sink shoulders are so small that it can hardly serve for our needs. cleaning: one day we returned to the room at 16:00 and it was not yet cleaned. they arrived at 17:00 , woke us up from sleeping and blamed us that we did not put the sign correctly, which was just a lie. after all this, on check out they asked and i told them about all thos irregularities and their surprising reaction was: yes, we know, other people complained the same in the past. No elevator is a serious issue. Unfortunately, almost all the Hotels in the Netherlands are located in old buildings, so you have to carry your luggage up on stairs. It is a pity

We didn’t have breakfast, train station near, cute restaurants and shops, and the smell of cocoa because of the chocolate factory Some ideas to make it perfect: A wooden ladder would fit perfectly in the bathroom- for the towels!! We really had luck with the weather so we dried them on the balcony. To the balcony- it’s really pretty !! I would really recommend a seating option with a desk and a sunshade (also forks knives and spoons in the rooms maybe two plates)so you can geht dinner or breakfast with this beautiful view and to compensate the small room. Now those two seats seem a little lost and it would really level up the whole room :-) Check in was 5 min walk away really easy fast and friendly. We really recommend this hotel room :-)

The room was a little dusty when we checked in and it got cleaned at night 3 ( of course more dust till then) would have been nicer if it was clean when we arrived or gets cleaned the next day when room service enters the room and notices it. Afterwards everything was nice and clean . Have to say we didn’t called the hotel and asked fordust wiping and vacuuming don’t know if they have cleaning on special days. Besides that we could really really recommend this hotel.

It's a great location. Quiet streets with free parking. Easy access to the train to get into town.

Our first night we spent without a comforter on our bed. There is no one around at night to help solve the problem so we had an uncomfortable first night. It was addressed and fixed the next day.

The room style is nice.

The hotel doesn't have its own reception. We had to go to another location for both check-in and check-out. It would be better if we can just drop the room card somewhere inside the hotel when check-out.

Comfortable and clean. Spacious and modern. The curtains make the room almost perfectly dark. It had a coffee machine and a ketle. Bed and pillows were good. Air conditioner.

In the bathroom there is no hook for a towel. No spoon for the coffee or tea.

the AC drips water which is surprisingly loud and annoying. We had a room close to the greet so all the noise reached us. other than that it was good

Check-in was at a different location (5 min walk). Staircase was very steep. No place to hang any clothes or towels in the shower. Stuff had little information about parking around the hotel

Lovely decoration! Very romantic feeling. great location- very close to the main attraction. The room was lovely and large enough.

The pillows were unusual square format which I didn't feel comfortable. I would just prefer regular shaped pillows to sleep. Not having the reception was interesting but the other hotel was in walking distance and the staff there were very helpful.

The room was decorated beautifully and the area was calm and quiet. The bed was really comfortable. Also the staff in restaurant were really friendly.

We had to pick up keys from this restaurant which was located quite far from the hotel. Bathroom sink in our room was clogged, there was no hand soap, the hair conditioner bottle was almost empty and water stayed on the bathroom floor. Also there was a LOT of dust underneath the bed, it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. It takes two train trips from the Amsterdam city to get in the hotel, so it's maybe not the easiest option if you don't want so spend time in trains.
