The house had everything we could have wanted and everything was top notch. And the Gormans are wonderful hosts. Super friendly and they gave us all the info we needed about what there was to do in / around the lake. Second time staying here - and would definitely come back again!

The house was perfect for all 22 people! We had 12 children (ages 3 months-12 years old) and 10 adults. The number of rooms and bathrooms was exactly what we needed. The beach was great for the children. Very clean and sandy just like they say. There was an abundance of towels for the beach and bathroom (not many wash cloths if you need those), silverware, outdoor seating, fridges, and cups/plates. The ice maker was great too! The only negative thing was the amount of stuff in the bedroom drawers, pantry and fridges. The host was very kind to offer anything we needed but there was so much stuff. With 5 families staying for a week, we brought a lot of our own stuff. That added a little extra work. We definitely made due and condensed things in the fridges but it was hard to lay out clothes so we just had to leave it in our suitcases. In past rentals, the host would lock their personal things in a closet or cabinet. It was just something we weren’t used to. That was minor compared to how perfect everything else was! We have been doing these trips for 5 years and this was our biggest group yet! This house absolutely checked off everything we needed and wanted. The kids were safe to play in the water solo while the parents relaxed on the beach!!! We have already discussed going back next year!

This was such a great rental home! Would recommend to everyone. The lake house was in a beautiful location. We had 20 people celebrating my Mom’s 80th birthday. Can’t wait to visit again. We went to The Strand, Dockside Dan’s, BTs, casino, winery, golfing, trivia at Sister Lakes Brewing, and a boat day. Perfect place for viewing sunsets. Thank you for sharing your lake house.

Beautiful home and amenities- we enjoyed our visit there and with each other- and the grandkids loved playing in the sand and at the water’s edge. We spent one day in St Joe which was just beautiful! A few family members have allergies so some of the dog hair was a little bothersome for them, but other than that it was very nice! We spent each night around the fire table which was a great way to end each day!

We were 5 families who gathered at this beautiful beach house for Spring Break. The owners are very responsive and go the extra mile to make sure that the guests have a comfortable stay. The house had a couple of kayaks for us to use, which was a lot of fun for the family. The house was clean and as per the description. We look forward to coming again sometime in the summer or fall, to make the most of the outdoor amenities that come with the house.

We loved staying at the Gorman Lakehouse! My family of 20 (siblings, cousins, spouses, and children) all fit comfortably in this beautiful home for a Thanksgiving trip. The kitchen was well-equipped for our needs, and stores nearby provided everything else. Communication was very clear and thorough with the host, Jerry, throughout the entire process. We hope to visit again in the summer to partake in all the warm weather activities in the area!

The lake house was absolutely beautiful, and just what our guest and I needed. With beautiful views of the lake and plenty of space this home more than accommodated. The owners are very pleasant and communication was never an issue. They even gifted us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our big day. Very thoughtful. I would highly recommend this home to anyone staying in the Benton Harbor, St. Joseph area.

We had a getaway weekend for one of my son's 40th birthday. Luckily my other son and his family was able to make it as well. I scheduled several activities to ensure all the grandchildren had a good time. As a result, everyone enjoyed just hanging out at the house and all it had to offer.

The house was gorgeous and had everything we could need and then some. The owners were attentive and helpful getting us started for our weekend vacation.

We had an amazing family vacation. The beach and lake were great and the shallow water made it perfect for our granddaughter. She spent hours in the lake. The kayaks, paddle board and corn hole were huge hits. Our beds were very comfortable and the house had everything we needed. All the neighbors are very friendly. We stayed at the house in early August and had a great time! Everything was clean and in good condition. The kitchen island is a great shape for serving food and hanging out. Tons of fridge space and loved the ice maker and warming drawer! Lots of beach towels which was super convenient. Great location for walking to Sister Lakes Brewery, The Strand, Dockside Dan’s, etc. The owners were great to work with. We loved our vacation!

The owners of this property could not have been more accommodating. The house was beautiful with a perfect sunset view. Great beach with all the equipment available. Good fishing lake and clear water and sandbar fun. Fully equipped kitchen. The ice drawer was fantastic! Plenty of rooms and bathrooms. The neighborhood was family friendly and walking to breweries and ice cream is always fun. Can't say enough good things. Looking forward to next year.

Amazing house, amazing location, and an amazing time. We recently spent a week at the house for a family vacation. The house was perfect and very roomy to accommodate a large family. The three tiered patio provided plenty of room and options for outdoor entertainment, and the beach and lake took care of the rest. The owners were very easy to communicate with, and were very accommodating in making sure we had an excellent time. We are looking forward to coming back in the future.

Perfect location on the lake. Sun all day long! Umbrellas to pop up when you wanted shade. The house was able to accommodate a large family vacation- 22 total. The beach had enough seating for everyone. Water toys to keep everyone busy. A short walk to restaurants, ice cream shop, roller rink , and grocery store. Downtown Saugatuck is charming with a beautiful boardwalk and lots of great stores and restaurants. The Air Zoo in Kalamazoo was great for a rainy day. Nights were all about making s’mores at the fire pit, singing with the guitar and playing cards. Wish we made it to one of the local wineries, plenty of great ones to choose from. Don’t hesitate. Property is in fantastic condition and the owners go the extra mile to ensure a wonderful experience. Beach was amazing, water was clean, and the kids were entertained all day. We rented the house for a weekend in November to gather our friends ( 5 families- age 3 to 50) on a “sleepover party” for my husband’s 50th birthday! Plenty of space for everybody! The biggest house we ever rented, clean and with so many amenities. Gorgeous view to the lake, amazing sunsets. We had so much fun dancing, singing, laughing! All of us enjoyed an amazing time together. Thank you Liz and Gerald for letting us use the house. I believe we will see you again!

We had a wonderful experience staying at this property. The house had everything that we needed and the hosts were wonderful to work with. Gerry went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We had a big group, 7 adults, 11 kids and we all had a place to sleep and enough room to enjoy. The view of the lake is amazing. Hopefully next time we will be able to enjoy swimming in the lake for longer than the polar bear challenge. We went roller skating at the Romano. Everyone had a blast. I highly recommend this property!

This is an incredibly well-designed home. There were 16 of us ranging in age from 13 to 80. Everyone had plenty of space, there was never competition for bathrooms, and we could be together without it feeling crowded. The deck is perfect, with seating for 8 overlooking the lake, with another deck one floor down with rocking chairs where family members enjoyed reading and chatting. The appliances were top notch, and they had 2 sets of washers/dryers, so it was easy for everyone to do laundry as they wished. Lake is lovely, and the house is perfectly situated to enjoy every part of the day including terrific sunsets. Plenty of towels, bedding, etc. They have a kayak, a stand up paddle board, corn hole, etc -- plenty to do and a beautiful environment to do it. The owners were incredibly helpful before and during the trip. They were responsive to any questions over text and gave clear directions & instructions. We had a great time and were very happy with these accommodations. We have no regrets about renting this property. In the interest of a balanced review, just two small downsides. Unlike other short term rentals we have stayed in, this is a family home, not an investment property. That has pros, like great appliances and everything you'd need right to hand. But it also has cons -- we were coming from 6 different households and no one knew who was bringing what (food, beverages etc.). That would have been fine if the fridges and pantry had been empty, but they weren't. They had cleared off plenty of space for us -- it wasn't a space issue. And if we had all been coming from the same household (and therefore knew which foods/drinks/brands we use) this would not have been an issue. It just became a complication because of our particular group. For example, I had to cover up their side of the pantry with boxes so that people knew they could only take snacks from the right side, not the left side. For the record the owners said it was fine to use their stuff as long as we replaced it, but we would have had no way to know what was consumed (and therefore what needed to be replaced). The tap water smells. The owners provided plenty of drinking water and even had a neat dispenser which provided cool or warm drinking water.
