This was our second stay and we definitely plan to return! We love the location, pool, hot tub, and space in the home.

Our stay at Sunset Shores Cottage was very comfortable. The cottage is across the road from Cherry Beach which although public is limited by the number of parking spots available. The pool and hot tub were a bonus and were used daily. Loved the outdoor shower. The house itself had an adequate number of rooms, bathrooms and open spaces for our group of 10 ( 7 adults and 3 grandchildren ages 2, 6 and 8). We enjoyed dinners on the enclosed porch facing a beautiful yard. The kitchen had a nice supply of dishes, utensils, etc. In fact the cabinets were so full of kitchen “stuff” that there was minimal space to store our week of provisions. Plenty of beach towels and beach chairs ( albeit some a little moldy and old). We were informed of this before we “moved-in” but based on the cost of the rental we would have expected the house to be provided with adequate dishwasher detergent (1 tab), laundry soap , paper towel (1) and toilet paper/bathroom (2 rolls/bathroom for 7 days). Thanks to the owners for letting us share their home.

Positives - the pool is large and impressive. The sunset view from front porch is great. To have a home with walkable beach location and pool, in this part of michigan, is rare. The management company was super responsive, even over July 4 holiday. They replaced old frying pans and cleared tub drains within 24 hours of my request. Very impressive. The house has 4 bedrooms but the upstairs bedrooms have huge closets that double as play rooms / nurseries. We have a 7 month old and we were able to get a pack & play into our closet which is a big plus. Our 10 year old son didn’t want to share the bunk room with girl cousins, so he pulled a mattress into our other closet. This flexibility of sleeping arrangements was key.
Areas for possible improvement - this is picky: the house is 3 levels and on 1 zone for hvac. Either the basement will be an ice box or the top floor will be a bit warm. I felt bad freezing out our basement occupants so we could have a cold night upstairs (we like cold bedrooms at night), so it was a bit warmer than I’d like at night. We probably should have just opened windows, in retrospect.

This was our first Vrbo! I wasn’t sure what to expect entirely, but we had an amazing time. The pool was the star of the trip. We swam even on the colder days, since the pool is kept nice and warm. The parking lot for beach access is literally steps from the house. It made taking my 3 & 6 yr old so much easier since we didn’t need to pack up the car.

Beautiful home inside and out with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The beach is a staircase away! The pool and hot tub were clean, comfortable, and oh so relaxing! Enough space for everyone to spread out. My kids loved the swingset and played every morning and evening. TV on the main floor was very small for the size of the room, especially when gathering in the kitchen/front room. Other than that, no complaints! We will be back!

We have been to this area five times now and loved our stay at this cottage. The location was perfect with beautiful views of the lake. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out. The cottage was very well stocked with amenities, board games, etc. We look forward to returning!

Great escape for a fun-filled week! Provided comforts of home and yet felt like we were 1000's of miles from home at an island resort. Didnt lack for anything. The property owners really considered a family stay w/toys, books, a swingset, pool floaties & towels, huge firepit w/plenty of chairs, a big gas grill & outdoor shower to wash off beach sand. The pool w/built-in hottub were amazing!! And another hottub for adults just outside the pool. The convenience of walking to the beach was an added bonus. We LUV'D our stay!!

WE loved the property and the pool. They were both clean and accessible. The house was lovely and the layout was perfect for our family! We were disappointed by the fact that the lake was not only across the road but through a very busy township parking lot access with lots of activity. The listing made it appear there is a path down to the lake but there was a stairway with 60 steps which was the public access. We still enjoyed the lake but weren’t happy about the distance. The listing should explain this better. The property has a small view of the lake but is not a lake front property.. There were beach chairs and some toys for the beach and pool. We didn’t know that and brought some of our own. Love the area! The pool was wonderful and had great steps for toddlers to play on. Spent lots of the week swimming in the pool!

Pure Michigan
This house and location are absolutely gorgeous! My kids named it the fairy house when we pulled up and couldn’t believe how large it was on the inside. The bedroom/bathroom combos are great for everyone having their private space. House was very clean and we enjoyed all levels including the beautiful yard! The upper level has a fabulous sitting area where you can view the lake and hear it when the window is open. Staff were very responsive in replying to emails and answering questions. We are looking forward to another trip next year! ❤️ Harbour county!!

Great location
Everything about the home was perfect for our family. Closest we’ve ever stayed to the beach. Quiet neighborhood with fun trails for little ones. Plenty of games in the home and good Wi-Fi if you need it for work/school.
** if you are staying several days you will need to bring your own paper towels, laundry soap, etc as there is only enough for a couple of days.

Amazing home!!!!
We loved everything about our stay in this property! Beautiful and cozy home with lots of common spaces to spread out. Also really nice that each bedroom has its own bathroom. Water views and proximity to awesome beach can’t be beat!! Would rent this property again in a heartbeat!!

Beautiful well maintained cozy property in fabulous location
It was a rainy cold November weekend, but we had a marvelous time enjoying the fireplace, hot tub , beautiful kitchen and cozy bedrooms in this lovely home. It has wonderful spaces to hang with friends and just enjoy each other's company. The screened in porch was magical - with the heater on -we puzzled there all day. What a beautiful view of the forest from there. The hot tub was perfect and the communication with the property management company was seamless. We can't wait to stay again at Sunset Shores Cottage. We walked to the antique store down the street and had so much fun finding great deals there!

Last minute
We enjoyed our stay very much. You have a very nice rental. Having the pool would have been a bonus. We really liked having the beach a few hundred yards from the house. The walk up the steps was a lot of exercise. Capazio’s was a excellent restaurant for Italian food.

Beautiful and Comfortable
This was a great house for our family (two parents, two kids, two grandparents) to gather for a long thanksgiving break. The house was well-stocked and had everything we needed and more. There were several super comfy living spaces and plenty of areas to enjoy the outdoors (climate controlled and not!). The kitchen was pretty great to cook in, too. I highly recommend this property and we’d return in a heartbeat!

Incredible home for a fall trip with friends and kids
The house was incredible - perfectly clean, well stocked, cozy, in a great location. We had a great time and enjoyed all the comforts of the house. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen in a rental. Everything was immaculate upon arrival and communication was easy and timely. We had 4 adults and two 2 year olds and there was more than enough space. Kids toys and books as well as the swing set and slide made the stay even better. We spent a ton of time out in the 3 season room and it's even better than the pictures show. We loved our stay and would definitely go back.

Fantastic house!
Our family had a fantastic time staying here! Extremely clean, ton of ammeties, super close to the beach (2 minute walk to the water), awesome views, close to state parks, and great location for walks and runs. The owner is very quick in responding to emails. Seriously can't ask for a better experience!

Perfect little escape!
Our week long escape room this cabin in the woods by the beach was perfect. We had everything we needed to keep to ourselves, relax and unwind, reconnect together. Those sunsets were amazing!

Family Week at Eventide
This was our first family vacation in Michigan and we had a wonderful time. The house was in a great location and we enjoyed all the amenities. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked and since we ate at home all week, it was much appreciated. The layout of the house was well thought out. The wifi was excellent.
Best of all, every day the beach and the sunsets were different and beautiful!

A Truly Special Place
This was our first experience renting a cottage for the week with our children and grandchildren and it more than met our expectations. The house is charming, impeccable as far as cleanliness, spacious with room for everyone to spread out, yet it still has a warm, cozy feel and no amenity is lacking.
Some of our favorite things:
The setting, the beach, the sunsets, meals on the front porch with the sound of the crashing waves as a backdrop, crackling bonfires with sticky s’mores and for some reason no mosquitos, the outdoor shower, the children’s play-set!!, the hot tub, the grills, the beach chairs that strap on your back for easy transport, the chef’s kitchen, the big washer and dryer, the blackout shades in the bunk bed room, the books for small children and the vented closet in the master that fits a port a crib.
Dislikes: My husband and I decided we would take the lower level bedroom. When he saw the platform beds he said “we can’t sleep on these!” I told him to stop being an old man and give it a try. He did, and it was great. No problems, no back issues and surprise - he would do it again! So I guess the one dislike became a like.
We all agree, we had a truly special time at a truly special place.

Great location, beautiful home with everything a family would need to have a perfect vacation. The indoor as well as the outdoor amenities were enjoyed by everyone. We appreciated the quality appointments, it truly felt like home.

Eventide exceeds expectations
We can’t say enough about how ideal this property was for our family reunion. The proximity to the beach was wonderful. The home is charming with so many amenities available. We especially liked that there are many places for people to gather both inside and outside, but the layout also allowed for quiet places and privacy throughout the home. It’s a great place for kids as well. We enjoyed the fire pit every evening. The house was clean and nicely decorated, and the sunset views are extraordinary. The kitchen is well equipped and great for group cooking, not to mention the three grilling options outside as well. We enjoyed having various meals at all the different dining areas available both inside and out. This is a lovely property and met our needs perfectly. We are so glad we found it and hope to visit again!

This home is cozy and inviting in every way!
First, the kitchen and living space is amazing. Great for cooking fall meals. Amazing for relaxing by the fire. Second, the bedrooms are nicely positioned. Two upstairs with their own baths, one on the main and one downstairs with its own bath and living space!! perfect for time together and time away if needed. The 3 season room and hot tub as well as outside area with firepit and playset are all pure perfection! Views of lake Michigan are beautiful. Location to wineries, eating, the Warren dunes are all within 15 minutes at most! I really cannot say enough about such a perfect setting for your michigan vacation any time of year!

Wonderful beach holiday
Very well equipped (especially the kitchen), terrific access to one of the better beaches in the area, great outdoor spaces and a impressively responsive and friendly owner. All of our party (an experienced Harbor Country crowd) were very pleased with our stay.

Wonderful house in a great location
This is our second year staying in this house. We love the layout for spending time together. It has a very nice kitchen well stocked with cooking supplies. The proximity to the beach makes it very convenient. There is something for everyone to enjoy at this house. Highly recommend!

This home was very comfortable and inviting.
We had a wonderful week at Eventide Lake House. The house had everything you could possibly need. So many places to relax...back patio, screened porch, fire pit, hot tub and front deck. The large kitchen had plenty of room and equipment to cook all your meals. Not to mention the choice of 3 grills on the patio. Our group included 6 adults and 4 children ages 6 and under. There was plenty of room for everyone. The children loved the swing set and the tire swing. Everyone loved the fire pit and how close we were to the beach. The setting could not have been better. The view of the sunset from the front deck was amazing. This place was a perfect location for our family vacation. I hope to return in the future. Thank you to Mike and his family for sharing their amazing home.

Exquisite Lake Michigan retreat fully equipped
This is truly a fine vacation retreat steps from beautiful Cherry Beach, spacious, beautifully appointed, and thoughtfully furnished and equipped. Our family had many venues in the home to spread out and also dine together inside and out. Good location near great restaurants and many kinds of entertainment. The Smith family covered all the important bases including great written material to identify the many attractions and how to take full advantage of the hone and beautiful surroundings.

Wonderful location that has it all
We just finished a great vacation on Lake Michigan at this wonderful home. It was perfect for us - four adults and four children. The house was neat and clean and had everything we would need for a great week.
We especially enjoyed the outdoor areas. The back has a great seating area, including a picnic table for the kids. We could chill in the hot tub or on the patio while grilling on one of the three grills. The front has great adirondack chairs and a large table, and the side has a fire pit with tons of seating. On the day it rained, we gathered on the four-season room in back.
The beach is right across from the house, so we could easily go back and forth as needed (which was a lot with little ones).
On two occasions we needed to contact the owners, they were prompt and great to deal with.
We can't recommend this place enough. Thanks for the great vacation!
