Perfect place to spend Thanksgiving with our daughter, her husband, and his parents. Couldn't be more staisfied.

We were thrilled to have found Palm Paradise. From communication with owner to luxury bedding, big comfy couch, screened in porch, games, decor and cleanliness this home is by far our favorite! Melanie was super helpful and responsive when Hurricane Ian was on its way. Given the option to hunker down one more night so we were not traveling as it hit was extremely kind. We plan to return to BHI next summer and hope that this property is available!!! If you are on the fence to book...do it! You won't be disappointed!

Palm paradise was the perfect spot for my husband and I and our pup to escape to for a week in BHI. The home had everything we could need, was comfy, and beautifully decorated. The owner was super helpful when I reached out with questions. We cannot wait to go back to Palm Paradise!

Overall house provided us with great memories. Plenty of sleeping options and great for meals with multi-generational family!

Very relaxing location

Overall, it was a nice stay, and we would come back again. The house was spacious and comfortable and located in a convenient area, fairly close to the market. The golf cart and bikes worked well for getting around the island. Would have liked nicer pots/pans and the house could have been cleaner. Thank you!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a great time. The owner is very responsive and kind. The only negative feedback we have is that the listing claims to be handicap accessible, but it is not. One of our family members who traveled with us is unable to walk up stairs. There are 3 stairs to even get into the front door, which was extremely difficult for her and actually was so difficult that she rarely left the house so as to avoid them. Additionally, although the first floor is flat, there's no support in the bathroom next to the toilet, which made it very difficult for her to even do someting as simple as use the bathroom. A few small updates could make a world of difference to a disabled person with limited mobility. Specifically, the addition of a small ramp or other way for a disabled person to get into the house that doesn't depend on stairs would be a great help. The addition of a rail or even a removable lift next to the toilet would do wonders. Unfortunately, able bodied people are the ones who typically decide what is accessible, but without having lived the disability, sometimes it is impossible to know what is needed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this home to anyone able-bodied. But despite what the listing says, this home is unfortunately not handicap accessible.

First, we have been coming to BHI every fall with our three boys for 15 years and Melanie is the standout owner of all the places we have stayed ! About a month before our scheduled trip our youngish Golden Retriever became acutely ill and diagnosed with an aggressive cancer . It was a sudden and completely unexpected shock . Needless to say , our trip took a back seat . I reached out to Melanie and she was so empathetic and went out of her way to offer us rescheduling if need be . Everything was up in the air and she was completely sensitive and accommodating to our needs . We went back and forth for a bit regarding whether we could take our pup or not go at all and she always responded quickly and was so thoughtful and understanding .Unfortunately our beautiful pup deteriorated and although we had hoped he would be able to go with us we had to make the trip without him for the first time in 7 years . We were sad and heartbroken, but the trip to our beloved BHI helped a little to heal us and Melanie’s house was the cozy retreat we needed . It was comfy and inviting and decorated in a lovely and tasteful way - it felt homey and like we were staying at a member of the family’s especially with all the caring support Melanie offered . Melanie , Thank you again for your thoughtful words and your willingness to get us down to BHI no matter what the timing would end up being

The house is very nice, and I was very excited about the stay when I arrived. I was glad to be able to rent a nice house because we travel with our two well-behaved dogs; however, the next morning the power washing started with both a gas and an electric washer on the house behind us. The smell from the gas fumes was terrible and the noise equals 100 to 105 decibels, nearly that of standing by speakers at a rock concert. You can imagine the impact on our two dogs. After speaking with a neighbor, the area was practically deserted with good reason, we found that the painting and washing was scheduled by the HOA. The painting contractor told us the work would continue for the entire week. According to the neighbor, the work had been scheduled for sometime. After we complained about the noise, the owner told us that it was not a problem since the work would only go from 9 am to 3 pm for two of our three rental days.. We had rented the house for 4 nights giving 3 full days on the island. Needless to say, we found this unacceptable. To give owner credit, she did try to call on my husband’s phone, but we missed it. I emailed her several times letting her know our position and asking her to call on my phone with an acceptable solution. She finally called me back and offered us an extra day and she also admitted that she knew about the scheduled work for at least a week. Since we could not stand to listen to the noise for two or more days and since we were not going to get the Three full days of peace that we paid for, even with the offer of 1 extra day, we asked for our money back and left since had to get off the island and commence a 6 & 1/2 hour drive home. We are not young and the drive is hard. Before we left, the owner offered to talk to the president of the HOA and have the work moved, but my husband and I did not see how that was possible as other residents had scheduled their vacations and rentals around the already established work schedule. Also, please note that I have had two major surgeries in 5 months and expect to have more. I had also taken the time to inform the owner that I was ill before the trip. It was a disappointment all the way around, but the owner did promptly refund our money. I did lose the money that I paid for the club membership so that my husband could use its facilities, and we lost the travel expenses as well.

My friends loved your rental! The only area for improvement is the 6 person cart, which either needs serious work or replacement. Fortunately your 4 person cart was good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The owner was responsive and quick to help us with all of our needs. The house is beautiful and the 6 bed bunk bed was a HUGE hit with the kids. The other rooms were great and the beds were very comfortable. We especially liked the porch in the early mornings and in the evenings. The house is in a great location, pretty central to everything on the island and a short golf cart trip away to the beach. Highly recommended.

Extremely nice home... beautifully decorated, good location, beach gear, good carts, bikes, etc. The owner was also very kind and responsive. We have rented many times on BHI but this home makes the top of the list... we hope to be back often!

This was the perfect location for a relaxing September beach trip with my family. The house was perfect. The bunk room was perfect for the kids. Adults enjoyed time on the screened porch every morning and we played games out there in the evenings. Having a bathroom for every bedroom and enough golf cart space was so nice. We had everything we needed for a great vacation and we look forward to visiting again in the future.
