Parking was limited, pictures are deceiving. Had not been dusted in a long time. Upstairs very hot even with the AC on. Owner of the property decided to stop by and come inside the house at 10pm with no notice. Internet was not working, line got cut. Construction next door with a generator that ran all day and night.

Our experience at Falling Star was unforgettable! The spacious, cozy rooms were perfect for all members of our family(13). The deck was perfect for us to grill outside, play games, eat, and have conversation. The garage was a tremendous help when it rained as we were able to play cornhole and have the grandkids play there as well. The acoustics are amazing! Very spacious for all of us. The kitchen allowed us to cook our meals for all and not create clutter or feel compacted. Accessibility to the Community Center was awesome! We ventured there several times and we loved it! A perfect distance from the Country Club, Deadwood or anything else you wanted to do. I would recommend cleaning the grill grates. Your communication was spot on as all of our questions were answered immediately. Thank you, Thank You for a very memorable stay for our family. Many tears were shed when we left. My grandson summed it up best when he said, "I want to stay here longer!"

Very good location with plenty of wildlife to enjoy as you sit on the porch or take a leisurely walk.

o Would appreciate clearer instructions for trash disposal in the home-guidebook. There were no instructions for recycling, but a recycling trash can was out front by the porch. What should be included in the recycling can? (Glass? Cans? What plastics?) Where and when should the recycling trash can be placed for pick-up?
o Final instructions in home-guidebook differed slightly from email. Perhaps an update is needed?
o We missed having a crockpot in kitchen.
o A little tight on space for vehicles/trailers/Can Ams for our purposes.
o TVs are not in all adult bedrooms
o Could not get the TV downstairs to work. I tried to load some apps that I have subscription to but always got an internet error.

This experience was average. The water should have provided hot water immediately with the kind of water heater it was, we never could figure out the hot water-some had good pressure, some would have hot shower and some would have a cold shower, there was no reason to when any of these experiences would happen. We were UTC riding, a shower after riding was important to our crew. The washer would typically have to be restarted due to error. The location is perfect. The parking is limited if multiple families are enjoying this vacation home. The thermostat is on the main level--basement and upstairs were hard to maintain a comfortable temperature. Was clean. Nice to know--there is a trailer parking area in the complex (this is a nice feature if traveling to area to ride UTVs prior to check in)

We enjoyed our stay very much. We had an issue with the water heater and called the property manager. A plumber came and fixed the problem. Our grandchildren loved the pool and the splash pad at the community center. The house was only a short walk away from the center. Powder House Pass is well located, only short drive to Lead for any additional supplies you might need.

Home was beautiful and location was perfect for our motorcycle trip however we ran into a number of issues that were very disappointing considering the price we paid. First there was still a load of sheets and towels in dryer running upon our arrival. Towels were put up wet (not damp) as it appeared they were not prepared for our arrival. More importantly, the downstairs bedroom had dirty sheets, hair clumps and dirt (gross) and pictures were provided to owner but no response. Hot tub was not properly cleaned as it foamed terribly on day 1. Pacman machine only let you move right so couldn't enjoy. Electric dart board gave error message and didn't work. I did reach out prior to leaving this review and was given a refund on the cleaning fee...honestly would have expected more considering but lesson learned.

The house is wonderful and in a fantastic location for exploring Deadwood and the northern black hills. The community pool was very nice. The finishes on the house were not great. The TV constantly had issues responding to the remote. The washer also had to be kicked off multiple times to complete a load of clothes due to low water flow. The place could definitely be five stars with a little more caring touch to it.

This house was the perfect place in Powder House Pass for our family of five adults to hang out between skiing and snowmobiling. We rented snowmobiles from Mad Mountain which worked great. The trails were in excellent condition. The house appointments and everything else was awesome. We had thought two more adults and three children from our family might be joining us, and if they would have, this house is perfectly set up for that.

This property was amazing. The community building was super cool. The only thing that kept this from being super relaxing was all of the construction going on. Understandable though since this is a new development area. But they don’t need to start at 7:30 Saturday morning. Bring your own coffee pot as the one provided takes 3 hours to brew a pot.

We had a group of 20 staying in two houses in this picturesque new neighborhood. Falling Star Lodge was decorated in ski lodge style and included all the amenities. We used it as a home base for visiting Mt. Rushmore and other Black Hills attractions. You won’t be disappointed!

The house was great overall! It was a perfect location for our family getaway. We had three families staying here so it gave us all space to spread out. Enough bedrooms for us all with plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen had the basic necessities for cooking daily meals. The game area was great for the kids to go relax and hang out downstairs. The fire pit was definitely used for the cool mornings and chilly nights. When we ran out of propane the first night or so it was quickly replaced. Kids enjoyed the hot tub. The yard around the property is a little underwhelming as it’s obvious newer construction and the yard has been an after thought. It was not conducive for kids to roam around in. There were some little things here and there but nothing major to complain about. On a couple rainy days we found ourselves fixing up some things that needed attention (several handymen among our group)...like replacing light bulbs, fixing a broken dresser drawer in one of the bedrooms, fixing light fixtures and tightening table legs and cleaning cob webs. Nothing too different than what we’d do at our own homes. It was a great relaxing trip and we hope to make it back next year. We’d have no problem staying here again!

This was my first time renting a VRBO and she helped me through the entire process and was very sweet about it. The property was great! We had 3 families and the room arrangements on 3 different levels worked perfectly. The decks were great no matter what the weather because one is covered and one is open. We utilized the hottub and it was a hit with everyone. The space was perfect. It felt very updated, yet that rustic cabin "feel." There was plenty of seating for our group of 11. It provides a cozy feel but with a lot of open space so you don't feel cluttered. I'd highly recommend this cabin to all my friends and family.
