The condo was clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. The pool was amazing, especially after a windy day on the beach. We also enjoyed the restaurant which was so convenient.

Our little family of three could not have asked for a better location to get away on Labor Day weekend. We all enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean and resort. Our 5 year old bounced from pool to ocean to hot tubs all day long. John’s unit was clean, beautifully updated, and comfortable. Thank you for creating a space for our family to truly getaway!

Great location for our small family getaway. Loved all of the amenities onsite, the beach almost felt private, and the location of this unit is perfect for casual people watching! My family had a great time staying here. It was easy to navigate the facility, and we were provided fans to sleep with. (I need a fan to sleep). Everything was just as described in his listing--no surprises--just what we were looking for!

Lovely, clean, smartly decorated unit. We really appreciated the high-top dining table (lots of drawing and games of solitaire happened there!) as well as the comfortable, peaceful bedrooms. Very nice pool area, easy access to the beach, and fine restaurant downstairs (Splash by the Sea; pizza to satisfy tastes of children and adults alike, and unbelievably delicious cheesy grits). John was a responsive, warm host with helpful suggestions for good local spots. Will definitely consider a return trip!

Was impressed with the cleanliness of the property, especially given that beach houses are always full of sand. The view was amazing. We loved having access to pools and hot tubs, as well as a short walk to the beach. the trolleys and elevator were convenient for hauling all our beach paraphernalia, luggage, and groceries. The on-site restaurant was good, too! John was super responsive and understanding when our checkout was a little chaotic and our friends had to leave abruptly. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a well-maintained, accessible, and beautiful vacation spot.

We had a fantastic time! Condo was very clean and comfortable. The view is amazing, saw dolphins most days while we were there. Just bring your suit and beach towels and you’re set! The pool area was clean and grounds well kept! You will have to drive to most restaurants, but nothing we minded.

The condo was beautifully decorated, clean, updated, and a great space for our group of 5. The massage chair was great at the end of the day. The pools, landscape, and beach are clean and beautiful. The main pool is huge! As a parent, I loved the armbands that you have to have to open gates to access pool area and beach. We will definitely be back! Wonderful family vacation!

This was our 2nd visit to John's condo. We had an even better stay this year. Condo was very clean, had all the amenities you'd need, and in a perfect location. Highly recommend staying here. John communicates quickly and clearly. We'll likely be back again next year.

Out of my 60 years of traveling and vacationing, our stay at this property was #1! From the start the atmosphere and smell of the beach captures you. As we walked into 303B, and saw a beautiful fully equipped kitchen with all the modern amenities. And then the massage chair in the corner of the living room caught our attention. Everyone was neat and convenient. It even had helpful suggestions and instructions on the wall about things to do in the area. Everyone was friendly. We came prepared to dine out and brought our passcodes so we could watch tv on our various subscriptions. Guest what! they even had that covered. All the channels we could ask for was already prompted and ready to go. We had so much fun and relaxation in the room that we didn't have to leave, except for a calming walk on the beach. It felt like a second honey moon. I highly recommend anyone to go and experience this awesome property. Treat yourself and/or your special partner. Thanks so much John!!!

Relaxing home away from home...

We really enjoyed our stay. Host was easy to reach and very responsive! Property and View were great. Loved visiting the towns around the property, Sneads Ferry, Surf City and South Topsail. The condo was beautiful, well equipped, clean and comfortable.

Host was very hospitable and the place was amazing. I will stay here again and highly recommend this host to all of my friends.

This property was beautiful!. My friends and I stayed here for a girls weekend. We all loved the condo and resort. Views were amazing. Check in was very easy. Property staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Condo was very clean and had lovely beach décor. Kitchen was very well appointed with everything a cook would need. Beds were very comfortable. Beach was stunning. It felt like being in Mexico without leaving the country. There is a restaurant at the resort and we ate there each night and the food was wonderful. We had a wonderful time and will definitely go back. Highly recommend!!!

I dont know where to start..but I guess I'll start with we love Topsail Beach and this experience won't ruin that for us:) Its the perfect getaway for family fun and we've had great experiences with our prev. stays. In the past 2 years, we've been down here 5times, no issues, just fond memories of the community, beach and the warm people we've met along the way. We love Topsail so much, we're considering buying a home down here. The issue started with my first message to John after booking the listing based on the pictures and description on VRBO. On the listing as you can see, it has nice views of the ocean and pools off the balcony and windows! so I booked it. It was kind of last minute but we wanted to get a vacation in before school started. Once I messaged J asking about linens, he responded with "oh btw, you won't have access to the balcony" I respond with "why?" he said "the condo will be doing repairs but most likely won't occur until September" I booked my stay for mid Aug thinking no big deal, its not going to happen in Aug...its gonna happen in Sept. ( this was end of July when I booked-very close to the dates I planned on traveling), he would tell me if it did (you know integrity and such )so no big deal. I have rented many places and I think the default in my experiences before J is that every host Ive interacted with has over communicated to a point where I knew what I was coming into. So I gave J the benefit of doubt. Surely he would tell me if active construction was going on- wrong. We got there and it was a nightmare. Our balcony not only was not accessible but was covered with wood boards (to keep the integrity of the door in place - for safety ), a thick plastic sheet, scaffolding and blue mesh. This was on every ocean front window and balcony. No views- None. You can go all the way up to the window put your eyes next to the thick opaque plastic-you can't see anything through it. Here is where things went from a nightmare to frightening. Men not wearing masks-coming into our condo to do active construction( I have 2 toddlers). John then evicting us bc of our complaint to vrbo saying "LEAVE NOW! Ill refund one days rent" Constant noise, banging, no privacy, debris falling to on balcony, dust. J knew this construction was going on after talking w/residents, construction workers there... it's been going on for 3 weeks. Before ppl book (NOT AFTER) they should know active construction is going on. Its called integrity...

The area is family friendly, not overly crowded and very private area. The pools were always clean and the access to the beach was easy.

First time visiting Topsail and we had a great experience at John's condo. It was perfect for our 3 kids with access to both the gigantic pools and beach. Condo has amazing views from both sides, a well appointed kitchen, some board games for the rainy days and a great setup. Condo was well cleaned and had plenty of towels, sheets, etc. Surf City was an easy drive and the grocery store was less than 10 minutes away. Would definitely book again in the future.

We had a great time and property was everything we were looking for in a stress free vacation. The owner could not have been more hospitable. He was very responsive. We would definitely return.
