Clean and close to the beach

The beach front as depicted in the above photo was steps away from our unit.

Louvers - only a few remained operational. The remaining jalousie handles were broken so that the louvers could not be opened. Fans had to remain on during our entire stay otherwise it would remain quite hot. Overall the cleanliness of the unit was good except when I moved the sofa bed and found sand/rubbish underneath. I took care to keep the unit clean, gathered all the trash bags and threw them out in the rubbish bin when I departed the unit. I am paying additionally $400 dollars in cleaning fees/service nearly the amount of the rental for three days. What exactly was I paying for? There was no additional cleaning services throughout my stay and didn’t see any housecleaning service and such. No washer/dryer - yeah okay I was informed that the unit I was staying in had none till September 23rd? I checked in on October 6 and there still was no washer/dryer in the unit. I didn’t like having to vacate the unit at 10am in the morning. Use a later time for departure. The pool - It was heavily chlorinated so was the smell. In some places there was green algae forming on the sides and steps of the pool so I see the reasoning for using high concentrated chlorine tabs but it definitely was too much and had to make sure to wear protection surrounding the eyes. some were complaining about their eyes having a “burning” sensation. Its obvious that there’s no security or pool attendant so due to its lack thereof other non-residents simply used it to as they exited from the ocean. The bottom concrete lining the pool had huge cracks/holes. I had to be careful not to step in those and avoid getting a cut on the foot. If the conditions of the “livable” units remain unkept (maintenance) they will definitely end up like so many of the other units surrounding a remarkable place ie; abandoned non-livable units/buildings, boarded up windows/doors, rusted screens, etc. It’s too bad that no one is up keeping an otherwise beautiful location.

The beaches near the resort were beautiful. The animal life in the area was outstanding- we saw herds of deer, Hawaiian monk seals, turtles and many birds.

The condition of the buildings on the property- most have been uncared for many years.

Cockroaches. Distance from car to condo. Cockroaches. No map. No lights. Old bed. Refrigerator. Furnishings. Bad toilet. Didn’t like anything about this condo but 📺 TV which worked

Specific to room #1231, the sofa bed isn't suitable to be slept on as it hasn't been cleaned - sand & a used vape pen we're underneath the cushions and the fabric feels like it's been sweated on so we had to cover it with bedding. The dishware didn't feel clean and the utensil tray and drying rack were pretty grimy. Unlike other rooms that were exclusively vacation rentals (#1182), this one was someone's property with all of there personal stuff decorated and stored there. The view and the outdoor patio was nice - good spot to see the sunset on a clear evening, but the beach wasn't swimmable during our 4 night stay.

Everything. It was not clean.

The carpet was really dirty, I took water and a paper towel and rubbed a spot and it came clean. So that is ridiculous that they leave it so dirty. Our sheets had other people's hair on them. The bathroom was not clean. All I can say is I'm glad there was cleaning supplies or I would have been sleeping in my car.
