Simply amazing property and staff. We will be back!

This house is fantastic and the view is amazing. Our first time to Belize and not sure we could have picked a better house and location. Not only is the house and outdoor space 5 star the staff and chef Domingo is better than you can rate. We did add more days with Domingo and it was worth every penny. We had outstanding meals and his personality was so much fun. Some of the best food and deserts we have ever had. All the advantages of a 5 Star resort and you are in a private house. Highly recommend staying at the Groovy Gecko

We had a wonderful stay at Groovy Gecko villa! The villa and location were fantastic, staff, food and service were awesome! We did felt like they were people caring about us. We had so much fun and valuable family time. Thank you so much, we strongly recommend Gerianne’s villas without hesitation!

This is a beautiful property with a incredible team to make your stay as good as it can get. We arrived to Jorge greeting us with a tour of the property and instructions for the house and contact information for everyone. Chef Domingo was amazing and the food was delicious. We booked him for an extra day! We had a group of 10 and we were all very comfortable. We were able to see manatees from the balcony and stingrays from the pier.

Everything was perfect! Property was incredible, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was AMAZING!!

Groovy Gecko property was absolutely fabulous. There were a group of 9 adults, family and friends. We only have great things to say about our week long stay. First, let me recommend that you have the chef cook as many meals as possible. We added two extra days and requested "Chef's choice - we want to eat what the locals eat". Chef Domingo and his brother cooked tasty, mouth watering meals every time! Do yourself a favor and get the chocolate lava cake for dessert more than once. It was everyone's favorite along with the rum cake. Also, we found it quite nice to have the house stocked upon arrival with beer and snacks. There were fresh flowers, snacks and a welcome cocktail waiting for us. We were greeted by the house staff and given a short tour of the house. It didn't take long for everyone to select a bedroom because they were all very welcoming and decorated nicely. The pool and house were cleaned daily and it really made for the perfect relaxing vacation not to have to worry about laundry, making beds and cooking. There are paddle boards, kayaks, a dock, bocci, corn hole and lots of pool toys to make your stay fun. We went to the village a few times. It did take about 35-40 minutes by golf cart, but there is a lot of scenery along the way to keep you occupied. We have zero complaints or concerns regarding Groovy Gecko. Highly recommend!! If you are looking for an all inclusive stay without the headache of crowds, dressing up for meals, finding a table, loud noise, average food this is the place for you!! You can wear your swimsuit at the table (if you chose), noise levels are controlled by you but don't be shocked by all the "wow's" when your dinner is plated and set at your table without a lift of your fingers by the chef!! Domingo was absolutely incredible! He prepared local dishes and made everything from scratch!! Even the tortilla's we had with our fajitas!! Plenty of food was provided and we had 4 teenage boys! The daily laundry service was another "pinch me" moment as well!! The house pictures do not do it justice. Much better in person! The beds were very comfortable and made with the softest sheets. Room temperatures were kept nice and cool and all made for a wonderful night's sleep. Highly recommend tours provided by Captain Jak's as well. We had one excursion (snorkeling) and were picked up on the dock! I could not recommend this place more!

Highly recommend this lovely property! Geri was attentive and helpful from beginning to end to ensure we had a spectacular time- from helping us coordinate our dietary needs and yummy meals with chef Domingo, directing us to the best homemade tamales in route, and arranging in home massages, we were pampered before and during our stay. The staff at the house kept it clean and neat every day (shout out to Mabel) and the pool was sparkling and refreshing. The conditioning worked great, and the beds were so comfortable. We have no complaints and are glad to have chosen this property. I would note that there’s not too many things walkable from the house- there is a golf cart ready to go. Thank you Geri and Groovy Gecko staff for a top notch stay!!

Villa Groovy Gecko is a beautiful place with space for eleven in our family. The large house was built 11 years ago and is very well maintained. The pool is superb with wonderful sitting areas and hammocks. The staff is top notch, friendly, and helpful. Our cook was professional with delightful meals and leftovers for the next day. I would highly recommend Groovy Gecko. And partaking in excursions with Captain Jak's and his crew.

Everyone in our party of 7 were very impressed with the property and the staff. So very helpful and met every need. Property manager was very communicative and helpful. Onsite staff so professional and efficient. Our chef was great and a suggestion to future guest, would be to let the chef cook more local favorites. Lunches and Dinners were over the top wonderful. Breakfasts were good but more along the lines of american cuisine. The pool and the grounds were so clean and most enjoyable. The staff was there everyday but never felt like they were in the way. The cleanliness was exceptional. Everyone in our party could not say enough wonderful things about the Groovy Gecko. Just book it and enjoy!

The booking process, communication, pre-arrival, transfers, and staff were all amazing. Our group of four families used every inch of the property and couldn’t be more pleased with the crew who truly cared for us while there. Thank you Groovy Gecko!

Right from the beginning with our pickup at the airport on day one to our trip back to the airport on the last day, we were treated like royalty. Greeted at the villa when we arrived, we were shown all the great rooms and outside living space. We could not have been more pleased and excited for the week ahead. Our meals were delicious, the daily housecleaning was awesome. Mabel helped with all of our excursions and answered all questions. We cannot wait to start planning our next vacation.

Took our 7 adult children to Belize to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Found this perfect house on VRBO. I can't say enough good things about it. Perfect accommodations, location, staff, toys. Chef was awesome and even had breakfast ready when we left early for our excursions.

We had a wonderful stay at Groovy Geckco! The home is the perfect set up for families and friends to spread out and enjoy all the amenities of this beautiful home. The beach and access to the pier are even better than the pictures. All the staff were wonderful and Domingo the chef spoiled us! The home is in a great location although a bit far for golf cart grocery runs so I would take advantage of having the chef do as much of the shopping and meal planning as possible with his car. We went on a couple excursions booked through Captain Jaks, The Monkey River Tour where you will see crocodiles and howler monkeys and if lucky a Jaguar print or two and a 1/2 day snorkel tour. Well worth it getting out and seeing the sites for sure. Was the perfect place to celebrate my 50th and look forward to coming back some day :)

We stayed at the home for 50th birthday celebration. Every ascept was wonderful from the pick up at the little airport to the relaxing by the pool. The absoulte bonus was the house care take cleaning each day and doing laundry. We would love to join this home again for another celebration. Thank you for having us.

Found this beautiful property and instantly knew it was the one for my husband & his twin Sister birthday adventure. Geri was awesome from start to finish. Every detail was clearly communicated and well thought out. Puddle jumped for the first time and it was great. We were promptly met at the airport and transported to the villa where we were warmly greeted by the host Brenda and quickly provided with the check in instructions so our vacation could continue immediately as our tasty adult beverages were patiently waiting. The onsite staff took such wonderful care of my family of 9 adults. Like so many have said before me, Chef Domingo was outstanding! Everything was as described or better. Ate/danced at the Barefoot Bar 2x, Karaoke @ Mr. Q., Bowled @ Jaguar lanes - there was also a poker tournament on Tue as well, boat toured the Monkey River, and purchased handmade souvenirs from the ladies on the beach just to name a few. The views, pier, weather, & atmosphere was perfect. What a way to start chapter 40. This lovely home will not disappoint. Thanks again Geri!

We celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday at the Groove Gecko. We had 11 family members at the house and it was large enough to accommodate all comfortably. The house is right on the water with access to a beautiful dock. We spent many days fishing off the dock with help from Jorge. Mabel, the house manager, was such a hard worker. She kept the house clean every day and was very helpful with changing flights and assisting with excursions. Our chef, Domingo, was so accommodating. He came early to prepare breakfast on days that we had excursions. He cooked an amazing lobster dinner for my husband’s birthday dinner celebration. All our meals were delicious and it was so nice not having to worry about grocery shop or meal plan (or do the dishes). We loved everything about our stay and I am already looking at other Gecko properties for our next vacation to Placencia.

The home and staff exceeded all expectations ! The home was beautiful, clean and well maintained. All staff were very nice and helpful. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Highly recommend !!

I cannot say enough about this place. We had the most magical vacation ever. Starting with Geri who answered all of our questions. It is always scary going into a new country and not knowing any information. Gerry was very responsive. Our stay at the house was amazing. I cannot think of anything that I would have changed. Our excursions with captain jaks were great. Geri set it up to have them pick us up at the house. They were all run so smoothly. The team that cooked and cleaned for us were amazing as well. Food was great. Laundry was done and beds were made everyday. The place is amazing!!!! Love it We will be going back.

We just returned from a friends trip to Belize. 10 days in paradise. The pool was spotless and the temp was cool, but refreshing. The ocean was beautiful. The accommodations were perfect for our group of 8. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom and there would have been room for an additional couple. There was even an extra bathroom for people to use coming in from the pool. We had Domingo as our chef and he did an excellent job. Made special accommodations for a shellfish allergy and a vegetarian. The golf cart drive to Placencia was a little long. It took about 30-35 minutes, but it was manageable. We rented an additional golf cart from Captain Jacks that was dropped off and picked up right at the house. The wonderful staff kept everything clean and would do whatever laundry you placed in the basket each day. So nice to not have to pack quite as much and go home with clean clothes. 3 of the five bedrooms are ocean front. One up and two down. All rooms were very nice and had their own safes. The indoor/outdoor area downstairs was very nice to pop up to the bar and make a cocktail while keeping the other doors shut to keep things cool. All in all, it was a perfect vacation.

Our 7 day stay at Villa Groovy Gecko was wonderful. Upon arrival, Mabel, the house manager, greeted us with fun cocktails & some munchies. She went over all we needed at the house and provided us a list of phone numbers for her, the chef and the maintenance crew all who reside on each far side of the 3 properties. The home was well laid out - 3 bedrooms on the bottom floor each with it's own bath and two bedrooms on the upstairs floor. All of the rooms were well suited and very large AND very clean. The view is AMAZING - something that was wonderful to wake up to. The pool area was nice and fun to lounge around with both sunny areas and a covered area if you want to avoid the sun. The beach was raked - yes raked - daily! The kayaks & paddle boards were located just beyond the pool and in close proximity. The dock was a little over to the side with a ladder to get down to the water and several fishing poles for those that wanted to fish. We utilized the chef services daily and Manuel & Domingo did a wonderful job of preparing wonderful food. A couple of days we brought home fish we'd caught and along with the prepared meal they fixed up the fish we'd brought home & it was wonderful. The one mistake I made was way overordering food. I didn't realize the grocery was a 5 minute golf cart drive away - next time I'll order a little less food and go get more if we need it. Another tip - do not overpack! The housekeeping staff launders your clothes on a daily basis and no dressy clothes are needed. We also took advantage of Captain Jacks adventures doing a zip-line, river tubing and waterfall & two separate fishing trips. The last of our fishing trips brought alot of fish which was a blast. We will definitely make another trip to Belize/Placencia and will stay at Villa Groovy Gecko. Everything was wonderful and far exceeded our expectations!!

This property is as good as it gets. I traveled with my family and closest family friends and we had a wonderful, relaxing vacation. I am a frequent renter of vacation homes-I prefer to travel this way versus resorts/hotels. This rental was much different because it was the best of both worlds! It is its own private home, but you have the amenities of daily housekeeping staff, landscaping and pool maintenance, laundry, and the CHEF. He requires a whole paragraph of his own... This place has all of the bells and whistles. We spent most of our time downstairs and around the pool deck in various sun spots. There are many areas to lounge, and the pool itself was refreshing and comfortable. I loved sitting in the pool at the "swim up bar" and reading a book in the afternoon. There is plenty of shade if that your thing as well. We used the kayaks quite often and were even lent fishing rods to take out. We had fun fishing off the kayaks and the pier as well. The beach is clean-raked daily-and the water is mirror calm, most of the time. In any tide, you can wade out pretty far to your waist. As mentioned in other reviewed, the sand flies are strong here especially in the evening-bring bug spray. When they were very bad we stayed in the very comfortable upstairs interior. The bedrooms each with their own bathrooms were very comfortable, and we even used the master jetted tub for a relaxing soak. While you didn't have to even leave the property to have a relaxing and luxurious vacation, we did do a boat trip one day with snorkeling around some of the cayes. Sunny side tours was able to pick us up on a day charter directly from the dock on last minute notice as out previously planned company had mechanical issues. Highly recommend them. We also loved taking the golf cart to the Maya Beach hotel for happy hour or dinner at their bistro-great drinks and wine list! We didn't do much dining out because we opted to have the chef cook for us most nights - chef Manuel was phenomenal. He is an excellent chef. Every single thing about the meals was scratch made. We ate like kings and it was hard to go back! We celebrated two birthdays while on this trip and the staff was able to help coordinate a special birthday cake as well. Host Geri was excellent to communicate with. She responds right away and can help you plan anything you want and every detail you want. Once there, all the staff are friendly and quick to help out. I can't recommend Groovy Gecko enough!
