The property was very nice, clean but a bit old. There was a leak in the roof during a rain storm but they promptly answered out call and came out the next day to assess, patching it on the 2nd day. The water pressure in the sinks and toilets was horrible and this mattered on the day that 7 of the 9 children got swimmer's itch and needed to take baths and showers one after the other. We have rented many condos and cabins in the area, by far this was the oldest building with the problems of an old building. Plenty of space, enough beds, bunk house looked great but you could see it's age.

The cabin itself was wonderful, comfortable, spacious, and full of the character that only a building with history can have. there was plenty of room at the kitchen table for 10 adults. The grounds were beautiful, with a campfire close to the lake, and room to play outdoor games of KUUB, cornhole, and Crossnet. We loved playing board games together as a family on the enclosed porch, and drinking coffee on the deck in the morning. The lake itself is wonderful, with places to stop and eat, anchor at a sandbar, and enjoy boating activities. It was hard to return home after such a wonderful week :).

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in Cabin 2 at Deer Run Resort. This cabin was amazing it fit our large family easily. The cabin was very clean and super cute! The managing company is easy to get a hold of and promptly respond to any questions and are very friendly. We fished, water skied, tubed and relaxed by the camp fire. We played volleyball on the volleyball court and the resort beach was fantastic! There is terrific restaurants and bars nearby. The coffee and candy shops in town are so good. There is also nearby mini golf, horse back riding, and go karts. We had a fabulous week with family making lifelong memories! The sunsets at Deer Run were spectacular a must see! We will absolutely be back!

The house/cabin was great. Great location and room for a large group of adults to move around, play games, chat and have personal time when they need it. We didn't like that there's no towels of any kind and the wire spring beds could be updated. The late 4:00 pm check in and the super early 9:00 am checkouts are not very friendly. Over all we had a blast and would recommend this cabin/house to anyone. We have even talked about doing it again next year.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the second year the family has stayed in unit #2. The unit is very adequate for our family of 16. When we arrived everything was very clean. We love the hug large deck in the front and the front screened in porch. The beach and lake is awesome. There are a few minor maintenance issues that should be addressed...the main bathroom on the first floor needs to have the light fixture fixed, its been with out two lights for two years now. The pier in front of unit #2 needs some boards replaced, there is one missing and some that are old and falling a part. On the main beach area over half of the lounge chairs were cracked or broken. There could be a few more chairs on the beach available. A yearly maintenance check would go along way.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was just ok this year. I know there is not much you can do about the swimmers itch but it was simply just terrible this year. A beach front property with a beach that can’t be used. We also had a mice issue this year. I understand this can’t always be controlled in the north woods but the floors were filthy under fridge and stove and they were camping down there. The front room next to the kitchen smelt musty. Maybe the carpet had gotten wet. The staff has always been great to work with and you can’t really control some of the things like swimmers itch but it simply is just a bummer.
