Great place on a budget - much nicer than anything else you'd get at that price level. Modern room, 15/20 minute walk to the harbourside.

Coal shed was perfect for Ashton gate to see arctic monkeys. Comfortable, lovely little extras and who doesn’t like to play pool for free!

Good location, comfortable and quiet

Location was excellent. Really loved the recommendations that were left for nearby restaurants, bars and coffee shops, we actually had dinner in the recommended restaurant. Shower was great and all very clean.

Slightly disappointed about the Pool table being broken and the vending machine, as the Pool table and amenities persuaded us to book at the CoalShed.

The room is really quiet. I stay in lots of places in Bristol and this is the best night's sleep of any I've stayed in. Bed is comfy, linen all great. Heating works great (and it's been pretty cold outside lately). Shower great.

The check-in email with the access codes never seems to arrive, so I had to contact the host by phone in order to get access. This happened also on a previous stay so not a one-off. Parking is a bit of a lottery, sometimes I can get a space right outside, sometimes I have to trawl up and down North Street looking for a space, but this is Bristol so parking will always be a problem.

bedding was good. decor and design was well thought out.

no windows, ridiculously bright and flashing (?!) red night light, really loud generator noise from behind back door, bright lights in back corridor, and my room smelt really bad from someone leaving old fish and chips in the fridge! which had not been removed! nice to have oil diffuser but it didn’t work. Location down a dark alley feels a bit unsafe coming back in the evening. not having any staff on the premises feels a bit weird- kind of unrelatioal and no human connection.

Very cosy room and very comfy bed. Great shower.

One bedside light not working

Coalshed is in a fabulous location. An easy stroll into the city or easy walking distance to some lovely cafes and restaurants. The rooms are well appointed and private. The communal space is fun to sit and have drink. Other guests were respectful in shared space. Very clean and super easy check in process
