This is a great location on the Nantahala. The hot tub is fantastic, and the open den is great. The unit is older & needs some upgrades.

The water view was amazing !

My family & I visited in Mid October for the weekend. We had booked the Nantahala Gorge Excursion for my birthday. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and drinking coffee in the morning while listening to the river. In the evenings, on the river bank, we sat around a cozy little fire after relaxing in the hot tub. The owner was very responsive and friendly. We had a great stay and will book again.

The house was nice. The hot tub was awesome. Couldn’t use the fire pit because there was nothing there to light it with. There was no outside lights on the stair side to see how to get in. Checked every light switch I could find but they didn’t work the outside floodlights. The ice maker in the refrigerator never made any ice. We was suppose to wash up the dishes we used but there was no dish soap had to go get some. Loved the location on the river it was great and so was the view. Enjoyed our stay even with the minor problems.

We had an awesome time exploring Bryson city and gazing at the beautiful Nantahala. The cabin is very clean and perfectly cozy. The views of the full moon over the river were breathtaking and the sun on the water in the morning was so peaceful. Would’ve liked having a dishwasher but we didn’t cook during our two night stay and used paper plates to keep the mess low. We also loved the really nice hot tub with views of the water. We will definitely be back.

The location is right on the river and surrounded by beauty. It's a nice home with comfy beds. Some things I expect were not right. No Wi-Fi connection for our cell phones. Missing lights over the mirrors in both bathrooms, exterior lights not working, VERY limited kitchen/cooking items that are common in rentals. No dishsoap, no soap for showers, no light in fridge, no seasonings, no coffee fixings. Would only recommend if you plan to buy EVERYTHING at the grocery store yourself.

Great property right on the river! Very close to the NOC and very clean! We had a great stay!

This house has an amazing porch view and great location. It has the essentials for a camp and the hot tub was great. It could use a little more attention to detail. There were spiderwebs throughout the house, multiple lights were out, both toilet paper dispensers were broken and linens were kind of limited. The location to NOC and BC we’re great and being right on the river was nice. It worked for our short stay.

The Riverfront Retreat served as a great home base for all of our paddling and pedaling activities.

Great getaway to do all outdoor activity. Need a dishwasher though was afraid to use dishes and glasses until cleaned by us.

We enjoyed our stay in this cute home by the river! Location was perfect and just as described. Only downfall was having to take your trash with you when you leave, which is fine, but would have been nice to have a little more information on where we could take it vs driving home for 3 hours with smelly trash in the car.

Loved being right on the river and proximity to AT, NOC, Bryson City etc!! Owner responsive and property well maintained.

Property was wonderful! Peaceful, wonderful views and so relaxing! Short drive to all activities! I never lost cell service, which was great only to find where I was going! Will definitely come back!

Omg this property was absolutely amazing! From the location to the view, to the people in the town!! Also, the bed was so comfortable! Literally the best sleep I ever had in my life!!

We ate every meal on the back porch that has the best view of the Nantahala River. We enjoyed talking to those who rafted by and loved the sounds and views of the river.

We rented this property due to its proximity to NOC as our 11 year old attended kayak camp for the week. It was an easy drive to drop-off each morning. The rest of us arranged for other activities out of NOC- rafting, kayaking, ropes course- and then we easily reconvened at NOC in the afternoon. We really enjoyed our stay! The nanatahala river is a magical place (cold too!). Would be great to have stairs off the back deck.

The house and location were ideal for river lovers. Easy access, close to NOC, and spacious accommodations. Will book here again!

Very relaxing sitting on the porch listening to the river and watching the rafters. Sitting in the hot tub on cool evenings. Just the recharge we all needed.

Although we had a bumpy start, and further bumps along the way, which included some weary but frayed nerves, overall we had a good time. The property manager and owner made things right that had gone astray…all because of a miscommunication basically. We appreciate the prompt attention to the problems we encountered, which were not too major. The location was lovely and relaxing, and we had most everything we needed at our disposal. Thank you for a lovely time.

We enjoyed our stay on the Nantahala River. The house being on stilts allows for a peaceful view of the river. We truly enjoyed sitting on the porch watching rafters float by. Highly recommend.

First of all, this property was clean! I mean baseboards-behind-the-toilet kind of clean! We only slept in the king bed, but it was super comfortable. The location is convenient if you want to hit the Nanatahala Outdoor center area to raft (or just watch) or grab a bite to eat. We came to relax and to trout fish. I enjoyed morning coffee by the river where I saw ducks, an otter, a groundhog, and numerous little birds flitting around. Once the river rose (it is dam-controlled) we watched the rafters and kayakers paddle down while we fished. I could tell they were all jealous of our great location as they floated by! When we got tired, we relaxed in our hammocks hung under the house. There's a firepit right by the water and we grilled burgers and steaks on the fire for dinner (there is also a nice gas grill on the deck, but we figured we'd make use out of the firepit while we fished). Once the sun went down, we relaxed on the porch with a glass of wine while we listened to the river. The hot tub is right at the edge of the river, too, and was also a nice spot to unwind and listen to the river. We ventured out to explore once or twice and there's so much to do nearby. We found some public-access fishing areas (thanks to a tip from the property manager) and while we didn't have the best of fishing luck, the scenery was worth the trip. We saw turkey and deer upstream from the house. I can't say enough about this place! We found the house to have everything we needed for our stay. We are already talking about a trip again in the fall. This place is ideal for those that want to experience the river, whether you are coming for the whitewater experience or to fish, or to just relax and listen to the water.

This location was a perfect location for meeting my son and friends that were hiking the AP trail. The house is just a few minutes from the NOC outdoor center where the AP crosses the Nantahala River. There are several car parking areas nearby to gain trail access for day hiking the AP trail. I was able to meet my son and friends several times at GAP parking lots within 1 hour driving time from this location. Great rafting and trout fishing nearby this location.

This home away from home had absolutely everything we needed for an absolutely perfect Nantahala vacation. We particularly enjoyed the porch, fire pit, fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and being able to stop and have lunch at “ our house “ while paddling the Nantahala. We can’t wait to return.
