This was a birthday celebration for three family members and a Christmas gift for my parents. 6 adults. There was plenty of room for privacy. The owners even left a beautiful birthday bouquet for us. While we didn’t have any real issues, when we did, the owner was prompt at responding. The pool was wonderful. The beach is not too far away either. We spent our water time at the pool instead. The only real negative thing I could say about the house is that the bedroom doors did not have coverings over them, so if the landscaper or pool person were to go by and you were in the room, they see right in the room. In one of the rooms, if you were showering in the indoor shower, anyone could see you in all your glory. The simple fix was to shower in the outdoor shower, which was wonderful. I highly recommend it. It was also difficult to sleep due to street lights on the road behind the house. I’d bring a sleep mask. As a side note, the landscaper is there some days during the week and the pool person also comes. They are nice people, but feels a bit intrusive. It would not prevent me from going here again.

We were a party of 8 adults staying at Hale Mele. The house and grounds was beyond what we expected. So well taken care of. The house was well stock for all of our needs. We loved everything about the house like the pool, hot tub, electric bikes, electric scooter and all the seating around the patio for dinner and drinks. Peter is a great host and is well prepared to answer any your questions or needs. This is a must stay place if you’re coming to the Big Island. Mahalo Peter for making our vacation wonderful. Jerry

We had a group of 9 staying at Hale Mele, 7 adults and 2 kids (8 & 11). The property is beautiful and the most well-stocked VRBO we’ve stayed at (garbage bags, soap, shampoo, kitchen items, pool/beach things, etc). The spacious layout was great for us to be together or find somewhere to relax away from everyone. The pool area was perfect and where we spent most of our time. The beach club was convenient and nice to visit, too. Peter, the host, was very responsive and answered any questions promptly. His arrival instructions were on point and arrival/departure was a breeze. Definitely treat yourself to a stay at Hale Mele, I’m glad we did!

We love a pod style home with its own pool/hot tub and many other amenities. Great visit, communication, and wonderful property. Only wish we could have stayed longer....

We enjoyed our Hawaiian Christmas. This property is perfect for multi-family travel. Most rooms are stand alone buildings and do not connect indoors. The rooms could have used more window coverings for privacy and morning light. It was a wonderful large open space with a fully stocked kitchen.

Our party of 9 stayed for 10 days and had a fantastic time. The floor plan is excellent in that everyone has their own privacy during the stay. The directions and communication from the owner was outstanding. The house was immaculate and comes with everything you could think of. We will definitely stay here again!

Our family of 10, 8 adults and 2 children, celebrating our 50th anniversary, had an exceptional vacation at Hale Mele. This gorgeous house had plenty of space for our large group with 4 lovely large bedrooms with private baths, well equipped, spacious common areas and kitchen, all surrounding a beautiful pool and hot tub. The lovely, abundant landscaping and the privacy of how the house is situated made us feel like we were at our own private resort! We loved watching the sunrises from the gazebo. Using the house’s available golf cart and beach/snorkel gear, we enjoyed swimming and snorkeling at the Mauna Lani private beach also. Hosts, Peter and Theresa, were very responsive, especially generous and helped make our vacation so very memorable. Exceptional!

What a perfect vacation home! The pod style bedrooms worked perfectly for our adult/teenage children. Perfect blend of privacy and togetherness. The home has absolutely everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked. Thoughtful touches throughout the home - charging stations in all bedrooms and living areas; golf cart, electric bikes, beach toys and chairs, Jeep for rent - they have it all! The pool and backyard are perfect for relaxing after adventuring all day. We loved it and will be back for sure!

This property lived up to the reviews posted and then some! Our family of nine ranging from ten to sixty had the time of our lives. We had the ability to relax and play around the pool and the privacy needed for rest and quiet time. The outdoor showers were a hit with young and old! I don’t think we turned the main television on at all because we spent most of our time outside enjoying the Sonos. Making espressos in the morning and sitting around the table at night allowed for some great conversations and valuable bonding for everyone. It was often difficult to leave and go on adventures because everyone was so relaxed and enjoying their “chill time”! However, we did take advantage of the golf cart, e-bikes and jeep. Peter made it so easy to rent the jeep and it was great to have another vehicle when needed. I personally can’t thank Grace and Peter enough for the graciousness shown to our family. It was a much needed break from our busy lives and as granddaughter Ava stated, this vacation got a “billion trillion” rating on a scale of 1-10!! Mahalo for everything, we will definitely be back someday!

Separate spaces for couples was great.

Everything was perfect. Peter was an amazing host. We would come back in a heartbeat!

We were a family of adults celebrating a significant birthday and found this home to be an ideal property for the celebration. We took full advantage of the bikes, golf cart and Jeep rental, and it gave us the flexibility needed to accommodate everyone. The home itself is spectacular, immaculate and well equipped. From the kitchenware to beach towels to the fruit trees in the community park, we found everything we needed. We also took advantage of the beach pass, and the pool and hot tub were a luxurious finish for the end of day wind down. Peter, the host was very responsive when we had questions and flexible with Jeep usage. If we ever return to the Big Island, we will definitely request this home to rent again. Mahalo!

My family and I take a trip to Hawaii once a year. This is the 4th time we have stayed in champions ridge and we fell in love with the place. If your looking for a family friendly house that comfortably fits 10 people then look no further, we had tons of space. Peter is an amazing host and I can’t wait to come back and stay here again. This is a great property for families or friends! The layout is particularly conducive to hosting groups, as everyone bedroom has a lot of privacy. The pool and backyard area is great for entertaining. Everything worked well and the kitchen is well equipped. The small issues that popped up were addressed quickly and professionally. Peter was an exceptionally responsive host and the directions and information for the property are very clear and easy to follow. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Peter and Theresa have worked hard to make this beautiful home a Hawaiian Paradise. The extras like the golf cart, jeep pool, and hot tub add to the luxurious air of this home. The beds are very comfortable. The house beautifully decorated and appointed. The backyard is gorgeous and we really enjoyed just hanging out there. The hosts are extremely supportive, welcoming and accessible. If you are looking to rent a home in Mauna Lani, this is a good one.

This house was perfect for our family vacation. We loved the pod-style bedrooms which gives you more privacy during your stay. The house was very comfortable and has everything you need. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking and baking supplies for our family meals. We enjoyed the pool and the beautifully landscaped backyard to relax and swim. The beach club was perfect to enjoy the beach and had great snorkeling. We highly recommend this home!

Perfect setting for our family group. Loved the privacy that the pod setting offered. An unexpected bonus was observing the volcano that became active hours before our arrival. Once in a lifetime! Host was amazing and quickly responded to a minor issue. Can’t wait to return to the property with other family groups.

Our Family had a fabulous stay at Hale Mele over Thanksgiving. We were extremely impressed with the spacious, sprawling layout of the property. Each room has its own private space, with an ensuite bathroom, which we appreciated. The kitchen was well equipped, with all that we needed to make a nice Thanksgiving dinner including top of the line appliances. The back yard is the true gem of this property, and where we spent the majority of our time together. The sparkling pool and spa were perfect for both adults and kids to relax, play, and enjoy ourselves. The open air "bar" was a big hit with the adults to escape and have a sunset cocktail. Our Host, Peter was extremely responsive and helpful with any and all questions we had. All in all, this is a WONDERFUL property and we will most definitely be returning with our family!

Hele Male was perfect for our group of siblings celebrating 180 years of combined marriage. We planned lots of activities while on the Big Island, cancelled some in favor of just hanging around the estate. Peter was very communicative and always accessible. In short, loved it!

My family of 8 adults and 1 infant stayed here at the end of September and this home was perfect for our family. This home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable all around. The home layout gave each couple lots of privacy. The kitchen is well stocked, the grill is great to have and we cooked most of our meals here. The AC, particularly in the master bedrooms and bathrooms, was huge! Many island homes don't have air conditioning in every room, especially the bathrooms. I run hot and we live in an area with low humidity, so the hot weather and high humidity could have made our trip miserable for us without the AC units. The beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms and bathrooms large enough that we didn't feel cramped into the space. The sound system was great to have and the choice of games to play was great as well. We enjoyed the outdoor pavilion a lot as the cool breeze up there helped keep us cool. The pool area is fabulous and we spent the majority of our time there. The garage had a lot of pool accessories, so that was also nice. The outdoor furniture is comfortable and there was enough for our large party to use. There are plenty of beach towels to use, which was great for trips to the beach. We never used the bar or game room area, but probably would have had we not been by the pool most of the time. We really enjoyed the golf cart and the e bikes and used them almost every day. Our adult kids used the tennis and fitness club and thoroughly enjoyed that. Peter was an excellent host. He was very communicative and made sure our stay was perfect. I honestly cannot recommend this home enough. If you're staying on the big island, stay here, you won't regret it!

We had a great stay at Peter's property (grandparents, kids, grandkids). The bungalow layout of the house works great for multiple families and kids. The golf cart was great to get to and from the beach down the street as well. Would absolutely come back!

Most enjoyable family vacation ever

We had a group of 10 of us here primarily to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary and we all can't stop talking about the amazing time we had at this property! There is literally something for everyone in the area, including the teenagers in our group! The golf cart and e-bikes were a ton of fun and we had a hard time even scheduling days at the beach because the pool area was so lovely! It was our first time experiencing a "pod-style house," so just be aware no rooms are connected to the main house. Didn't bother us one bit though and made it fun to walk right out to the pool area first thing in the mornings! Peter and Theresa were incredible hosts and Grace was wonderful as our on-island contact! I may have messaged a little too often, but Peter was quick to respond and answer any and all questions that came up. If you're hesitating on booking here, I promise you won't be disappointed! We didn't want to leave!!!

Wow! We had our family stay here and it was amazing. The pod style enables everyone to get together in gathering areas while having privacy in rooms. We rented baby equipment from Aloha Kids and that helped a lot. The Jeep was so fun, and we loved the golf cart and Ebikes! Pool was so relaxing and outdoor sound system worked great. We had a great chef cook dinner for us here one evening and I highly recommend them! Island Thyme Catering & Chef Daniel Bobo! Sad to leave this beautiful home but already planning our next visit here! Thank you Peter!!!

I want to thank our hosts for making this the best memory ever. We were celebrating my 20 years of cancer survivorship and I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing experience. The house and grounds are spectacular with views of sunrise and sunsets.

Peter (owner) and grace ( house manger) couldn’t have been nicer. From the date we booked until the day we check out they were both amazing to deal with. The house and all the amenities made our stay seamless. Only complaint is we couldn’t stay longer .

My family of 8, 26-60 years old, stayed at Hale Mele for a week in early July 2022. It is an amazing property/home and is easily one of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed in. The home was immaculate and undoubtedly the best appointed and well-stocked home we’ve ever rented. The interiors were beautiful, yet homey and comfortable with room for everyone to sit and be together. The separated/pod-style bedrooms all had comfortable beds and gave my all-adults family really nice areas to spend some time alone. Two of the bedrooms have a connecting door (but also maintain separate entrances) so a family with young children would be equally comfortable with the set up. The bathrooms were beautiful and well appointed with towels and closet space. We enjoyed using the two outdoor showers as well. The kitchen had everything you could wish for and more; we cooked many meals there with ease. Our coffee aficionados very much enjoyed the gourmet coffee maker! Outside, the pool and patio area was fabulous with a nice pool, hot tub, grill and plenty of seating areas with both shade and sun. The landscaping is colorfully beautiful and the view of Mauna Kea is stunning. The separate game room/office with crow’s nest was an extra nice bonus for my daughter who had to work one day. There were tons of extras including the use of the golf cart, e-bikes, pools floats, a club beach pass, a small ice chest and tons of beach towels (which is so nice to have). We never utilized the optional Jeep rental but it would have been super easy to do so. Peter has short instructional YouTube videos that are really helpful for being able to quickly utilize things in the house. The resort grocery store was a quick cart or bike ride from the house which added to the ease of staying at Hale Mele. Peter was extremely pleasant and easy to work with both before and during our stay. His response time to questions is remarkably quick. One night we had an issue with the air conditioning in one room (the ceiling fan made it less problematic) and one email the next morning to Peter, on July 4th no less, had it working functionally within an hour. We never had another problem. He also checked in with us a couple of times to make sure all was well. I highly recommend a stay at Hale Mele for anyone, but particularly for a large group. We came here for our 40th Anniversary with our kids, spouses, and one set of grandparents. The property was amazing., plenty of room for everyone. The separation of the rooms allowed for a lot of property. Amenities like golf cart and bikes, beach access, and little odds and ends were great. Peter our host was very helpful and responsive. Would come back in a heart beat.

Hale Mele was a perfect fit for our family of 9, (4 generations). This gorgeous home is very spacious, well decorated and clean. Loved all the extras there was to offer, like the electric cart, bikes, pool, beach and pool toys,etc. We especially liked the pool, hot tub, and enjoyed happy hour and naps in the cabana area. Our grandkids stayed in the game room and loved their space. Amazing location with one of the most beautiful beaches only 5 minutes away to swim, snorkel and fantastic restaurant. We highly recommend this vacation rental, you won’t be sorry! Can’t wait to come back to Hale Mele. Peter and Theresa are great host, thank you
