Hermoso hotel. Una casona con carácter, buen gusto y un toque de naturaleza. La piscina es deliciosa y el staff ni se diga. Nos alojamos una noche en familia y pasamos espectacular.

Hace 7 años habíamos ido y volvimos para encontrar con cuánto cariño nos recordaban! Sobre todo recordando al rubio loco (mi esposo adorado) que hace 7 años se tiró al río! Fue muy especial y conmovedor
Ir al Portal de la Marquesa definitivamente se siente como estar en casa.
Todo el staff es muy amoroso, y queremos hacer un reconocimiento especial a Honorio y a Margarita, que especialmente nos consintió ¡DEMASIADO! aunque ese día no tenían previsto hacer arepa de huevo al desayuno... teníamos el antojo, se le pedimos y nos lo concedió.
Muchísimas gracias! Sin duda, cada vez que volvamos a Mompox, es en el Portal donde nos quedaremos

Portal de la Marquesa is a wonderful place to stay. The staff treated us like family. The location is perfect and the courtyard with pool is wonderful for relaxing and cooling off (it's hot in Mompos!!). We chose Portal de la Marquesa as a place to completely relax after our Latin American journey and it was a great choice. We spent a week there.

The hotel is small and decorated with style. The living room and dining room are stunning, with their high ceilings. So is the patio with its refreshing swimming pool. The staff are very kind and helpful, given the small number of guests they have to work with. The hotel also has a very friendly and cute little cat called Catalina, which makes it feel like "home". Its location by the Rio Madgalena is perfect. We didn't try the breakfast, but it looked amazing too.

Perfect location to enjoy Mompox, set right on the Rio Magdalena. We had a private suite, with nice pool, huge amount of space, at an excellent rate. As elsewhere in Colombia, very friendly people abound.
My Costa Rican wife is not a fan of Colombian breakfast arepas. She needs her morning "Gallo Pinto"
Mompox would be a top Colombia destination if access were easier. Cartagena-Mompox was 6 hours of road chaos/anarchy via rental car (and I am used to driving in Latin America!). Cartagena tour operators should use fast river boats up the Rio Magdalena; approx 4-5 hours of relaxing river time, to make this a 1 or 2 night stay. After all, the Rio Magdalena is what made Mompox famous.

Beautiful house and really friendly staff
Breakfast could be more imaginative and use more the great local produce. The bread (some was even old) and coffee (next door there’s a great coffee shop) could be much better to meet the quality of all the other services.

The staff was very helpful and nice. The hotel has the best location. It is a beautiful remodelled house that has everything to make you feel comfortable. Nice pool and common areas. The breakfast is unbeatable with local specialties, fesh fruit and juice. I will go back when I return to Mompox. I highly recommend it.
They just need to answer the phone since communication this way was impossible.

The highlight here are the staff, specially Margarita -the chef- and Hernan -the guy who is there at night-.
Breakfast is fab, the small pool perfect and the bathroom is gigantic! The room is comfy and the house overall is great.

It is like living in Colonial period. Truly amazing and people are amazing... the staff treats you as soecial guest... Mrs margarita, her sister Juana, mr concepción were the most in touch with us. Worth the money and the time. Next time I will spend more time. Food is amazing (breakfast) the coffee is great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
