Great location in quaint beautiful town that is worth the stop. You can drive up to the castle and enjoy the view of the Rhine River. Breakfast was really good. The price was reasonable.
The train is right in front of the hotel and runs often and quite loud even in the back room of the hotel. Be prepared for luggage up steps. No elevator.

The bed was okay. It was quiet and the room had a beautiful view. The breakfast was very good. The man at the desk carried my suitcase to the 3rd floor for me.
The man at the desk did not speak ANY English. We could not communicate. I never got a receipt for my stay. The bed light in the room didn't work. There was no AC. The room was very worn and it seemed dirty to me. It overall was an uncomfortable stay. The stairs were a killer.

A great hotel which we will remember fondly. A more authentic hotel across the road from the Rhine. Had lots of quirky additions in the room which probably were there when it was first built? 81 steps to the top room but worth the view. The manager(?) helped carry our bags up. Don't expect all new but more back in time. Would stay there again. Great breakfast selection.
No internet in Room 15 (right at the top) but not a big issue.
3.1
Great location, antique charm, close to everything
Rooms don’t look as advertised, loud train passing by in front, staff mostly unavailable, out of two phone numbers given to reach out but are not registered with the provider. Just a garderobe, no table, no cupboard. Garden view advertised but not delivered. No place to hang towels.
3.1
Excellent location, friendly staff.
Freight trains passing by every 10 minutes, lots of noise.
3.1
Great location right next to the train station and a short walk to the river and all of town, comfortable beds, great bathroom, awesome breakfast for free
There was an odd smell, but you get used to it quickly
3.1
Great location in the town's historic city walls.
Other reviewers had mentioned the noise from the trains. Due to the loudness of the trains passing by regularly at night I needed to keep the windows closed despite very warm weather. The result was the room was exceptionally hot with really no ventilation which prevented me from sleeping well. I would not stay there again.

Staff was very nice and helpful but did not speak any English. We managed OK with translate apps. Rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Location amazing.
Rooms seemed basic and dated for the price and bathroom sink didn't drain well. No handsoap in the bathroom. Train noise was substansial but we expected it so were not surprised.

Very historic property. Great location.
Bathroom was either improperly installed or poorly designed.

It has old world charm, even the creaking floors. Breakfast was great. we stayed there 12 years ago and wanted to come back.
Everything was good and we were well taken care of.
3.1
Medieval bullding, nostalgic atmosphere, location right in the center of Bacharach and view of the Rhine from terrace and restaurant.
Very loud trains right under my window, all day and even freight trains all night. Ask for a room on the other side (so no Rhine view) and you will have a much better stay.

Lovely staff, great breakfast, amazing location.

Great location and value. We were here in the Autumn. Chilly outside, but warm and cozy inside.
Slow Internet.

Great value and location. Breakfast was delicious. Mr. Tran made everything special.
Internet very slow.

First room was right next to railroad track, second room had no water for sink.

Charming
Noise from trains
Front lobby needs some work could brighten it up a bit

The rooms are very old and need updating.

Breakfast
Room could have been cleaner.
Hotel was 5 metres away from main train line between Mainz and Koblenz. Trains every 10 minutes thundering by. In 2 nights never slept at all. You didn't put this on any of your reviews. If you did I wouldn't have booked it.
3.1
Nothing
hard to find the entrance , the reception doubled up as the breakfast area
The staff new no entrance basically handed a key and pointed at least with a smile
the high speed trains passed about three meters from my window two ten minutes apart the repeated every 20-30 minutes
hence no sleep …. unless you love trains stay as far away from this one as you can
it’s the worst review I’ve ever had to write
breakfast most had run out ie eggs etc
3.1
Location is not far from the parking.
There is good view on Rhine river.
The hotel is located near the railway, and trains are passing by at top speed.
If you're unfortunate to live at the railway side, you won't be able to sleep at all.
Staff does not speak English.

Everything was absolutely charming from the exterior to the amazing views as you go upstairs, to the romantic location. Gorgeous, historic, castle of a building set on the River Rhine. The staff, though small, and not fluent in English, was friendly and tried to be as accommodating as possible despite the language barrier. The rooms were not elaborate but cozy. The center of town and everything we needed was a just short walk away....wonderful restaurants, pubs, ice cream shops, historic sites, hiking trails, and access to trains and boats for day trips along the river.
The only downsides were that being an old, historic, well kept building, maintaining the architecture and romance of the town it does not have a lift. You need to be in good shape to get your luggage up however many winding steps to get to the floor your room is located. Thankfully ours was only one flight up. Also, since there had been a recent change of hands and the hotel may have been closed during the pandemic up until it was sold three months prior to our arrival, the restaurant and bar were not functional. However there was a lovely buffet style breakfast that you could enjoy on the terrace facing the River Rhine.

location
The only thing would be the trains. You are right next to the tracks. Otherwise good location..
3.1
An excellent breakfast with helpful staff. Unbeatable location next to one of the town gates.
They seem to have removed every vestige of the history of the building, at least in the rooms. The room was stark white, with a tiny bathroom and not even a bottle of water. A piece of foam was wrapped around the door handle to stop it from banging against the wall - surely a proper door stop would cost about one euro at the local hardware store!
3.1
Terrible bathroom reno! Bad lighting, many, many stairs, no a/c, bad pillows, bad maintenance, curtains falling down, trains all night right out the window! I could go on and on! Ok breakfast and nice staff, but would never recommend this place!
Everything! Don’t stay here!
3.1
The feel of the past but with modern conveniences. located in the village and the Middle Ages.
How could you put a lift in a Medieval tower (and why?)
