We couldn't fault a thing- from the warm welcome we received from the hosts, the delicious breakfasts, the inviting hotel room, the honesty bar, the cleanliness of the hotel as well as the fact we were in a delightful area with free parking with regular trams to take us to most destinations. There is nothing we didn't like or could write improvements for. I'm just sorry I haven't been able to write this review sooner.

We had a lovely stay, we were kindly upgraded to the four poster bed & I would not hesitate to book this room when we go back. The room was extremely comfortable with plenty of space, nice to have the toilet & shower separate. Breakfast was cooked to perfection & was delicious. The location is fantastic with walking distance to Ma Kelly's showboat & a stones throw to the tram stop. The open bar was a great touch as well.

Great location. Warm welcome. Excellent breakfast...... worth staying for that alone! Room was warm airy and very clean. Extremely comfortable bed. We will definitely be staying again.

Location, breakfast, cleanliness and the best part about the stay were Hosts. They made us feel homely and guided us about the places where we can go during our stay.

Chris and Christine could not do enough for us. Although Christine was pretty much behind the scenes, she was lovely and a great cook. Chris was extremely: helpful, amenable and calm. The Fossil Tree really is a 'calm place to stay'. The breakfasts were fantastic! Lots of choice and extremely well cooked and plentiful. The rooms were well-equipped, clean and extremely comfortable.

The breakfast was excellent and was served to us at the table, no self service, which we appreciated. Our room was spotless and comfortable. Chris is an attentive host and it feels like he puts his heart into making everyone's stay as enjoyable, and well'informed, as possible. Would definitely recommend this small hotel to anyone who would like a quiet break in Blackpool, with a short walk into the nightlife area.

There was an excellent choice for breakfast all freshly cooked and prepared. The owner Chris is very helpful and friendly to provide information on pubs, restaurants etc near by. The tram stop across the road was very useful for access to Fleetwood or Cleveleys or into Blackpool town centre.

Getting watched eating breakfast as if we were being rushed to eat and leave and also I asked for some special requests on the breakfast and didn't receive the item

The accommodation was lovely, very clean and tidy and the owners had thought about every little thing that would make the stay easy and enjoyable. Breakfast was beautiful and both the owners couldn’t do enough to make sure you had everything you needed.

Both Chris and Christine were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious. Out of the town which provided a good night sleep. On site parking included. Breakfast was exactly like others said prior excellent.

The stairs to the bedroom was like climbing a mountain 🤣😄

The breakfast was very good and plentiful. Plenty of towels and a very well-stocked hospitality tray. Beds are extremely comfortable. Good hosting skills.

Chris and Chris were very pleasant, and were great at checking if we had everything we needed. The cooked breakfast was fantastic, the location was great (about a 40min walk to the centre of town, or about 5mins on the tram - so close but also quiet), the room was lovely and the bed was comfortable. The lounge/dining room also had a self-service/honesty bar that was really handy after a long day of sightseeing.

The only thing that could have been improved was the shower. It was an electric one, and it was quite tricky to get the temperature just right. Other than that, I can't really suggest anything to improve at all!

Chris the host was very friendly and helpful from the outset. The place itself was one of the cleanest I've ever stayed in! Breakfast was just right and quickly served up. Our room overlooked the sea and they have erected some large illuminations directly opposite. In fact we have booked the same room in October so we can see the illuminations. As for travel we booked a 3 day pass with Blackpool Transport which allowed us unlimited use of trams or buses which run every 12 mins in either direction. This was quite handy as there is a tram stop just two minutes walk from the hotel. Free parking on site is also a plus point with ample good spaces available. In all I can say were were 'Over the moon' with our stay and will make Fossil Tree our go to place in Blackpool for any future visits!

We never saw a 'Kiss Me Quick' Hat anywhere in town!! Lol.

Great location near lovely big sandy beach and close to all amenities. Quiet and peaceful at night. Comfortable, clean and large bedrooms. Excellent tasty breakfast. All food intolerances and allergies catered for. Free parking.

We liked everything.

Loved the size of the room and the decor. Felt relaxed the entire time with it being away from all the noise, but still close enough for a nice beach walk into town. We've stayed in plenty of places up and down the country and the breakfast here was the best. We had such a nice time and the hosting was excellent and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to book an extra night. Well worth the money.

Shower pressure not great, but didn't really impact us at all.

We chose The Fossil Tree because we needed to be in close proximity to where our aunt had lived and to attend her funeral, and what a wonderful choice we made. Chris and his wife Christine are excellent hosts, nothing is too much trouble and have a wealth of knowledge of their locality and the numerous tourist attractions of Blackpool and the surrounding area. The Fossil Tree hotel is a haven of peace and calm, but if the hustle and bustle of Blackpool beckons, then hop on a tram or bus, both of which are almost on the doorstep of the hotel. Our room was lovely with a sea view, a very comfy bed, a flat screen TV and 2 chairs, and must not forget the wonderful incidentals like a coffee maker and a kettle for that 'early morning cuppa' in bed before going down for breakfast. How does the saying go - 'Breakfast like a king' - well, that is exactly what you get at the Fossil Tree, a most wonderful choice to suit all tastes and served by Chris, always with a smile and time for you. There is a well stocked bar operating on an honesty box system and a comfortable lounge area, ideal for a night-cap after a busy day. This hotel is definitely not to be missed.

Very good choice for breakfast. My wife is a vegetarian and the range of food offered to her was excellent. Chris and Christine who run the guest house were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
