We were in town for a mermaid convention and this location was perfect and only a few minutes from the pool. I also really liked that parking was easy and that the home is 1 story, so no hauling luggage up stairs.

Home was cold and empty. Not very relaxing and comfortable due to the open spaces. Sound echoed throughout possibly due to the lack of furniture. Multiple doorknobs were falling off of the interior doors. Faucets were also loose and falling apart. Bath faucet had hot/cold swapped. Master bath looked large but is really shallow and didn’t feel any larger than a normal bath once inside it. There is central heating but the owner controls it remotely and keeps it at 66F. He will adjust it if you ask nicely and wait multiple hours. You need to do this everyday since the heat will reset to 66F every day. I cannot recommend this place for this reason alone. Owner’s phone number on the reservation was not reachable. I had to call VRBO to have them call the owner on a second/secret phone number. The in-app messages went unanswered for multiple hours.

We arrived to check in at this home and the house was 85° inside. We checked the thermostat and everything we could think of. But it was clearly not working. I messaged Ken and he was very slow to respond and wasn’t overly concerned with our discomfort. We attempted to open windows to cool it down over night. The windows were disgustingly dirty and covered in spiderwebs and bugs. What’s worse a hot sweaty nights sleep or feeling like spiders are crawling on you? I have photos of how dirty they were. Ken also has strict house rules that we were happy to abide by. But keeping the doors closed due to bugs was so hard because we so badly needed a cross breeze. The next day by 4pm I received a phone call from a technician to fix the HVAC. He asked that I meet him there. So on my vacation weekend, I had to cancel my Happy Hour and Shopping plans to sit at Kens house and wait for a technician. Then sit there for 3 hours total while it’s 85° inside wasting my time. The house finally cooled down by 10pm the second night. I reached out to Ken and asked that he comp our first night because of how much time and discomfort I had to spend towards the repairs of his property. He only comped my half of the first night then stopped responding to me. I will make sure to not rent this house or any others Ken might have.

We hope whenever we come back to the area this place is available. Perfect for a group of co-workers traveling for a conference/training event.

The location was great. Cute, and quiet neighborhood close to the river park. House was nice, but could have been cleaner and the backyard needed a lot of work unlike the pictures portrayed. But not a problem. My only issue was being told “we can’t do early check in, as we still have to get things ready”. That would have been fine if “getting ready” didn’t just mean putting some towels on the counter. Tub was dirty, lots of bugs, strange liquid on the bedroom walls, and a few broken items in the house upon arrival. OVERALL a good stay since it was only a couple days and we mainly went for the river. Oh and we thought there was a ghost 😬
