Great location and bakery.

Stay was what was needed a safe, clean, budget friendly place to stay. The party next door to us was on the loud side, but wrapped up around 11:00 pm. If in the area again will stay.

Great find! First stay was a week ago going north stayed in the Colonial House. Coming back stayed in the Tillyer House & it was wonderful and would stay in it again.

Wedding venue in main building was beautiful. Service and staff was great. However the motel portion needed some work . stairs outside of rooms were ragged or nonexistent. Rooms ok. Great for just sleeping.

The price was good. The building we stayed in, the stairs and walkway were in poor condition. The roof needs repair work. The room was dark. The bed was very comfortable. The coffee and muffins for breakfast were excellent.

Great place! So welcoming friendly staff. Awesome bakery on site and beautiful landscaped property.

My husband and I really enjoyed staying here. Our room was clean and comfortable. Food was so good in your dining room. Bakery was a delight! The grounds were beautifully landscaped. Loved the variety of flowers. We would stay again.

I honestly would’ve rated five stars if it wasn’t for the fact that I really needed a night away and was put in a room right at a construction zone. When I voiced my concern, I was told because I booked through a third-party I wasn’t able to get a refund.

This is a motel, that’s set in a historic resort. Great motel room (although a little old), beautiful flowers and gardens throughout. There’s a historic inn on the property with two nice restaurants and a bakery/coffee shop. Our room looked out into the forest. Fantastic value for the price.

My husband and I stayed at Publick House for the first time about 3 1/2 weeks ago while visiting family in the area. We stayed at the Motor Lodge as we had a dog. We enjoyed our stay very much. We ended up returning to Massachusetts this week for 2 nights and booked Publick House again. As we didn’t have our dog with us, we stayed at Tillyer House. We absolutely loved it. No complaints whatsoever. Clean and quiet and easily accessible to the Bake Shop, Tavern and Restaurant. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is great, and we enjoyed the pool very much. We had a slight problem with our in-room safe not wanting to give up our passports Wednesday morning as we were leaving, but a quick call to the front desk brought a staff member to our door literally within minutes to open our safe. Excellent service (I believe a low battery on the safe was the cause). We also enjoyed drinks and dinner at Ebenezer’s Tavern Tuesday night. We have nothing negative to say about this property and when visiting family in the future, it’ll be the only place we stay.

This is a very large property with many buildings.It was very difficult to find the registration. Needs a clear sign. Our initial room was in the upper buildings. They are pretty worn. Would have been ok but the air conditioner didn't work. We were told to unplug the AC and plug back in and wait 10 minutes. After 15 minutes still not working. We had reserved two queen beds and they said they only had room with one queen bed. I asked about king and they said we would have to pay more money. So I asked for my money back and we would go somewhere else. I was met with a rather rude comment of I cant give you back all your money because it is too late. After I got upset and told them it's not my fault your equipment doesn't work they decided to give us the king at the same price. The new building (Chamberlain house I think) was a very nice, clean and a great room. I wold have given them a straight 5 if we didn't have so much trouble with finding registration and AC not working. Also, the bakery has the best pastries and gets a solid 5! The coffee, pastries and staff were outstanding!

Stayed in the motor inn, which is definitely older, but the beds were clean and pretty comfortable. Shower worked. Our needs were modest, and so this modest motel was just the thing.

The beds were comfortable. The room however wasn’t clean and some things were really showing their wear. The property was gorgeous. A very nice complimentary breakfast of pastries, muffins or coffee cake. Overall it was adequate enough to rest your head and get up and go the next day.

check in is very confusing. You have to stop at the publick house first before proceeding to the motor lodge area. room was nice and big and clean but tv remote did not work and toile was broken

The main buildings and the grounds are beautiful! However, the motel buildings need some upkeep. We arrived after dark and had a hard time finding our way around the property. They need better lighting and directional signs. The staff was very welcoming and helpful.

The lodge is wonderful but needs some TLC. We stayed in the Motel. The grounds are not being well maintained and litter in the parking lot. The shower was old and little to none water pressure and little trickle of hot water.

Large rooms, comfortable beds and great service.

Beautiful place, friendly staff. Limited menu. We stayed at the Historic Inn. It was quaint and cozy but our room was not. The inn is old but our bed was too. It gravitated to the middle and the boxspring sounded and felt broken. The bathroom has a step up and the floors we slanted. I would still book again but stay at another one of the houses.

The property and location were great. The food was outstanding. Coffee in the morning was a special treat. The bed was very comfortable that allowed a great nights rest.

I had a great stay at this historic inn. And the staff was friendly and helpful from check in to check out. I would highly recommend a stay here

The Inn is a beautiful place just off a main road. It's picturesque, with comfortable rooms, spacious outdoor areas, easy parking and delicious pastries at their bakery.

Great location while visiting Historic Sturbridge Village. The authentic atmosphere is enchanting from the moment you enter the reception area and take in the pleasant aroma from the fireplace.

Incredibly warm and gracious staff with a great service attitude. Several dinning options, great food! Grounds are gorgeous, very New England! Bakery shop is a joy!
