We chose the Hyde Away because it seemed like a small, friendly place that would really cater to their guests. What we found is that they seemed uninterested in providing hospitality to us. The room was clean enough but the condition of the bathroom was in need of improvement. No housekeeping during our stay. Breakfast was included. The staff seemed inconvenienced to prepare eggs and they were overcooked. Dinner was very good but very rushed. Our meals came before we finished our appetizer. Disappointing experience.

Food is outstanding, crafts beers galore at the pub and Karen the pub manager runs a tight ship . The accommodations were extremely comfortable, and clean . Had specifically gone to Waitsfield to hike and bike. Hyde Away Inn was clean, simple and convenient. The hotel was extremely accommodating to a special request I had and the staff was really helpful and good. It was a great Fall getaway.

The property is old and not well maintained. The rooms are very small and not very clean. The complementary breakfast consisted of coffee and prepackaged pastry. Very expensive for what is provided! I would not recommend this property for travelers.

The stay was very pleasant and comfortable. However, there was no check in or check out, or anyone around to ask questions of (like seeing my bill before leaving).

Hyde Away Inn is a little older and our bed wasn't very comfortable, but the service was great and restaurant there had excellent food.

Our visit was very short, one night. The room was very small, but clean. The electricity set-up was a little scary, with a lot of extensions and many items plugged into the same socket. The building was very old, however, that was part of the charm. The restaurant was very good, and the staff very helpful.

We've stayed at the Hyde Away over the years while skiing at Mad River Glen. I have fond memories of what used to be "The Snuggery" during my college days at UVM. We had not stayed since the inn changed ownership a few years ago. We rented the separate house, which is spacious, updated and very comfortable. Only drawback if you have more than the four people we had staying in it would be that there is only one bathroom. Lots of snow while we were there, and my husband had to shovel as their plow had plowed us in. Breakfast is not included in the house, and in my opinion, is not worth the $10/person that they charge. Morning server is not very friendly. Ate dinner in the dining room one evening, and it was mixed. Not as consistently great as it has been in the past. Overall, still one of our favorite places to stay, but some areas could use improvement (food, service.)

The decor is older but everything was clean and in fine condition. The woman I worked with for booking wasn’t overly friendly and seemed put out a little. It’s possible that they were short staffed and so she might have just been dealing with that. They weren’t able to do breakfast in the morning because of being short staffed so she gave us vouchers for a place 1 mike up the road to have breakfast. That place was Mad Barn Inn and the owner and staff there was extremely friendly. If we were in that area again, we would stay at the Mad Barn Inn. It was just a better feeling B&B experience over there, with gorgeous grounds, nice decor, and super friendly staff (and a dog onsite:-)). The restaurant at Hyde Away was quaint and we would recommend it. We would stay at the Inn again if needed but would prefer to check out other lodging options if we were in that area.

It was basically dormitory style lodging, which I did not expect from what i read in my last minute reservation made on line. The staff and food were very good, The room was clean but drafty and the water was hard. Price would have been OK for what i received if I had another guest with me.

The Hyde Away is a exceptional Vermont ski lodge! It provides an affordable sleeping set-up, with excellent food & I even got to enjoy some local music in the pub as a bonus after a great day on the slopes! The breakfast that came with the package was local, tasty & the perfect way to power up before enjoying an amazing day of fresh powder at Mad River Glen!

Beware, they not always have hot water in the shower!

Beautiful rustic inn in peaceful Vermont mountains. Well preserved and very charming. Lots of room for a family (we stayed in a biggest suit). The lounge area is a great place to relax after busy day of hiking or skiing. Super friendly service. The only small complain is for some road noise in the bedrooms. The building is very close to route 17 and few passing cars could be heard well in the otherwise very quiet rooms. I think it is the only suit with windows facing the road. Again, very small issue. Simply nothing else even to mention. Overall very pleasant stay. Thank you!

Stayed here with my husband who was hiking the long trail. He was able to do his laundry on site and they even had extra clothing for him to wear while he was washing his. They have two rooms that allow dogs for. A $20 fee. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

We loved the fireplace room. It was very comfortable and clean. The owner was really friendly ,accommodating, and helpful. She also makes a fantastic breakfast! The bar was very lively at night and a great place to go after sking. We ate dinner there also and the food was delicious. Cant wait to go back.

This truly a little gem hidden away in the mountains. The drive to get here was amazing. Not too far from the Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream Factory and Tour.
