Booked an ocean front room and was put in a room facing the Bay, otherwise ok for the price

Great staff but place is run down. If you dont expect much, you wont be disappointed

Coconut’s bar grill right there with live music. Excellent breakfast buffet, in the basement, huge pool, ocean access, convention center within sight.

Great to have music on the property. Food was fine. Definitely will return.

Great “old school” beach hotel (just like I knew growing up). Patio bar with live music (& food) was a great amenity. Pool was very nice. Parking lot was very convenient. We will DEFINITELY stay here again!

We enjoyed the entire facilities the staff was friendly and efficient and helpful would definitely recommend your resort to friends and family and definitely book another stay at your facilities thank you for an awesome vacation

We had the breakfast at the hotel, but the coffee cup still has the lipstick print on it. Ii’s disgusting!

I loved my stay! Wouldn't have changed anything. The first room we had was oceanfront we had a great view and 1 minute from beach. The second room was a suite which had more room and the kids loved it! There was also a jolly rogers nearby with rides just for the kids age group! Not to mention we were practically right across from a McDonald's and burger king! We will definitely be back next year!

This our second year staying at Castle in the Sand. Great hotel! Many room options Beachfront, large (Olympic size) clean swimming pool. Clean rooms with microwaves, stove tops, dorm size refrigerators. Great restaurant on property (Coconut's on the Beach) WITH beach service. Highly recommend. Will be back next year!

Didn't like that there was no safe in the room. There was never any towels at the pool. We only used housekeeping once or twice but we had 4 people in the room and would only get towels and toiletries for 3.It didn't look like the room was fully cleaned. The pool and beach locaiton was great as was happy hour and the breakfast buffet. It was a convenient location and stay there again. It was recommended by my brother and sister in law who stayed there last year.

One of the best locations in OC with very attentive, friendly staff. Food at Coconuts as well as the breakfast buffet is fantastic. Beautiful pool. Beach waiters and waitresses are incredible! Grounds immaculate.

Its a great hotel if you want to be by the beach, and its so nice having the coconuts restaurant in the hotel very convenient and the waitresses come on the beach to bring you food and drinks. The hotel is very old not in the besy condition but the rooms are pretty clean.

Checking in was a nightmare. Personal yelled at me he told me next time book our reservation threw them and not threw expedia. He was very very rude and disrespectful. Rooms were soo outdated. Plumbing was clogged up and smells like sewer in the room. Coco outdoor bar is soo shady. Very loud music and cars hanging out in the parking lot with people inside very scary. I hope i can get a refund.

Secure parking was a big plus.

Cabins not update to date as hoped or pictured, at least the one I got. Moved to the waverly because tenants upstairs were loud all day and night. Hotel staff very friendly and accommodating. No attitudes what so ever from them. Friendly staff all around. Great location to the beach. Food was ok.

Castle in Adam’s offers dated but decent facilities. Large pool, restaurants,bar and convenience to the beach. Staff is awesome!

Only slight complaint was that on one afternoon the water pressure became almost nonexistent.

Overall, the hotel is great but shows signs of wear and updates are needed throughout. Rooms are spacious. The beds are lopsided and uncomfortable. The pool is wonderful and huge! The dining options are delicious and affordable for a resort area. Parking is convenient but weird. You can’t beat the access to the beach! I would stay again, even though I didn’t like the beds.

Great beach location, rooms were clean and comfortable! the bar and restaurants on site were a huge convenience and the staff was great we can't wait to visit next summer!

Had a 2 night stay here, was not bad. Room said queen size bed and im sure that was a full.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and happy hour with music was brilliant. Decor is a little dated but i like a little retro chic.

Pros: Location. 12 blocks from the north end of the boardwalk. Beach. Not crowded at all. Beds. Comfortable. I slept like a baby. Super quiet. We were on the highest floor (5th) and never heard another guest from inside the room. There was a wild party going on at the other end of the same floor we could hear when in the hallway but not a peep once inside the room. Not sure if our closest neighbor rooms were even used though. Staff. Most staff was very friendly and helpful. Like 99%. Pool. Huge. Cons: Maid service. Had to hang the “maid service please” sign on 2 days and they didn’t get to our room until mid/late afternoon both times. Also, only took out trash and switched towels. On 1 day, didn’t even give hand towels or wash cloths. Never vacuumed which absolutely should’ve been done like other places we’ve stayed. Inside room. Trim in bathroom peeling and all interior is out of date. Coconuts restaurant. I was told I couldn’t use the beach waitresses to deliver non-alcoholic beverages. The girl who sat us when we ate was obviously annoyed of anyone being present. She was not the norm from the rest of the staff. Food was nowhere near the caliber of other places we ate. Movie night. The website doesn’t give a true depiction of the screen. The screen is the side of the building but due to the architecture, the forms of the building were in the way. 1 Elevator. We had to wait for a particular staff member, multi times to go from 1 to 2 w/ nothing to do. He just roamed around.

Staff were really super-nice all around.........very helpful and caring. We enjoyed the meals there and the Happy Hour. Pool was fine, Parking was difficult on a few nights. Our room is unfortunately pretty darn "Outdated" at roughly --$400/night No balcony, no Seaview, -- a small microwave, half fridge, tiny coffee-maker an iron, a blow-dryer. Two sinks would have helped out tremendously !!! Bathroom was just way too-too tiny. It had been renovated nicely (except for the black mildew or mold on the wall by the shower-head !!) The bathroom is 5 X 6 with door swinging in it, and all amenities in it. Too small for multiple people.
