Our room was extremely noisy, there was construction going on until very late at night in the adjacent building so we could not sleep well any night that we were there. We told the staff and they said an upstairs room would be quieter but did not offer us any other options. We wished there was a gym on site. The breakfast was great, but we would have really appreciated boiled eggs. Having almond milk available for the coffee was great. I’m not sure why the upstairs room with a view was closed off most of the day except for breakfast and late night drinking. It would have been nice to use, since there is nowhere else to sit except for the bedrooms. The location is great. The bed in our room was very comfortable. The room was stocked with shampoo and soap, no conditioner.

I can only say positive comments about this hotel and staff. We stayed here for 1 week. Our room was big, clean and quiet. The staff was wonderful. They helped us with information about things to do in Porto and they were very nice. The continental breakfast was included too. Thank you Filipa and the rest of the staff at Vera Cruz Hotel. You guys are awesome!

Very friendly check-in staff, with really good communication skills. The room is as expected for the level of hotel. It was cozy, with plenty of storage. The bathroom was good quality with the shower providing decent hot water, however the toilet which was wedged into a small alcove of the bathroom which made a very tight fit when sitting on it. WiFi is included and very fast and no outage. Breakfast is included and is simple continental fair, but very tasty and kept us going until the early evening. Location is very close to the clubs and bars, but we heard absolutely no noise at all. Would definitely visit again. Thank you

Great location! Room and bath are small but totally adequate, breakfast only cold foods but good selection, and staff were friendly and helpful.

+ Great location. You could easily walk to the attractions. + Unexpectedly rich breakfast with yoghurt, fresh fruit and pastry. - The windows in my room no 403 were not soundproofed at all! The room was also towards the street and I could heard all sounds and the heavy traffic all night. Also many (drunk) people went home this way during the night and I could too well heard them shouting and bawling. I could not sleep during the whole night. I usually sleep almost everywhere and even when it's noisy but this was the worst I've been to. I luckily only stayed one night and when I checked out I pointed out about all the noise during the night but the staff seemed to be completely uncomprehending.

Help yourself, continental breakfast included, with plenty of choice and nice restaurant location on roof top with views over main square. Booked a standard double, room fairly small and bathroom compact but no complaints, both very clean, clean bedding and good shower. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend if youre planning a few days in Porto.

Hotel wasn't bad, but needs updating. Room was very clean but the bed was lumpy and had a wooden frame that every time my husband moved, it made noise. The drapes were red and the light shades were red. An easy fix there to a neutral color would work wonders. Breakfast was the usual European fare -- nothing hot -- some cold cuts, yogurt, pastries.

I booked a standard room in what I thought was a two star hotel in a good location. I did not expect luxury. What I got was a tiny room with a wardrobe with 3 hangers, all of which were too big for the wardrobe, drawers that were filthy and too small to put a folded t-shirt in, noise from everywhere( worst noise from the kitchen and breakfast room on the 8th floor above, so we had kitchen equipment banging in the evening and then as soon as early morning came the sound of people preparing for breakfast). The double bed was clean, very short and not very comfortable. The bathroom was reasonably new and clean. After complaining twice and being told there were no other rooms, we suffered the first night saying that I will move if the noises from above in the kitchen didn't stop. The next day I complained again and was told they had another standard double Room, this was even smaller and only just big enough for a not very comfy double bed. So we moved to another hotel. All I wanted was a room with a reasonable bed, places to store our clothes and enough quiet to sleep properly. I did not expect luxury. I have stayed all over the world in motels and hotels of every grade, through business and leisure. This was the worst. Do not trust the 2 stars, book somewhere else.

We booked a family room for 4 and when we arrived this family room was not available. We were placed into 2 double rooms. Upon check out, the attendant tried to charge us when we booked through hotels.com. Okay pluotel for one night stay.

The staff were very helpful. The room was simply furnished but met all my needs.

Brilliant location, was able to easily walk to all attractions. Friendly staff, good basic breakfast. Decor was dark so looked slightly old fashioned but everywhere was very clean.
