Rooms very dirty and scruffy. One room had obviously been fumigated which caused the family members to have eye irritation.
Lost power in 4 of the rooms, staff disinterested and very rude.

Went for a short break with friends. Great hotel. Very local to all Bruges has to offer. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Only thing I would say is that there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room, but cafes were just around the corner. Overall a very lovely hotel.

Great service from man on reception throughout. Very helpful

This is a charming old hotel in the perfect location. It is difficult for seniors to negotiate stairs but there is a lift for most floors. The hotel manager was extremely helpful about everything we needed. We stayed in two rooms both charming and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent - a most charming town and great place to stay.
4.0
The hotel is located around the edge of the city center and is very easy to access the city center: 5 min for Saint Salvators Kathedraal and 10 min for Belfort.
My room did not have an air conditioner so that you may feel hot on sunny summer days.
2.5
It was great! Staff was very friendly and our room was nice.

Very close to city center. Lots of dining options close by.

The hotel was nice, clean, comfy and some of the best parts were the view, the buffet for breakfast (for an extra cost but very convinient) and the bathtub.
Unfortunately, our arrival definitely set the tone for the rest of our stay, although there were 2 people in the front desk, and they noticed our arrival, none of them welcomed us, in fact, they were loudly talking to another staff member upstairs so we waited a few minutes before they would talk to us. This was a bit rude, we felt ignored as if we were an inconvenient, the rest of the interaction wasn’t friendly.

Room was in annexe at distance from main building and reception, necessitating 76 year old with mobility issues to carry bags in pouring rain across cobbles to a different building at some minutes' walk away, where there was no lift. Stairwell of this other building was dirty and smelled stale. A used towel had been left on the stairs. The staircase was narrow and the walls marked from many collisions with suitcases. Badly in need of decoration. The room itself was basic in the extreme. Carpet was threadbare in places and stained. One door of the wardrobe would not stay open and the other could not be opened at all due to proximity of other furniture. Not even a hook to hang (now very wet) coats outside of wardrobe. Extractor fan in main room (not bathroom) ran continuously and noisily without means of switching it off. Suspect that guests staying in the main building may have had a very different experience, but if you're going to put people in a building other than the one advertised, it is essential to make that clear at the outset, especially if access is an issue. It is dishonest to show photos of a specific building, and to claim features such as a lift, if you then house the guest elsewhere.

Bed bugs
We woke up being bitten and took several pictures and a video, then left in the middle of the night and were lucky enough to secure a room elsewhere.
A quick search of this hotel's reviews on Google reveal similar issues going back years, and responses from the business blaming guests themselves for bringing them. We arrived there from our home, where we don't have bed bugs....so we definitely didn't bring them.
I understand it's a difficult problem to manage, but other hotels seem to be having better luck managing the problem, so draw your own conclusions.

Very central hotel, close to all the touristic places.

The room photos were amazing, nothing compared to reality, It was dirty, the rug was filty AND dusty, tha bathroom had mould. No one ever came to clean, even when que asked for It, they just folded the towels (the same used old towels) the room smelled like cigarrettes AND the safe didnt work. We ran out of soap AND didnt get any more, AND the last day ran out of hot water, so we took a cold as hello shower.
Weve stayed at some bad Places but this one got the first Place when It comes to bad, bad, bad hotels

The hotel itself is nice enough although there seems to be more than one building. From reception I had to go outside, turn left, turn left again and enter a building that wasn't connected to the main part of the hotel. The room was small but clean. The bed was very comfortable. There weren't any tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was mainly continental with a selection of croissants, cold meats etc. The hot breakfast was scrambled eggs and bacon.
The staff were helpful. It is about a 15 minute walk from the railway station and about 10-13 minute walk to the Market.

Terrible dirty and damp hotel who are incredibly dishonest. Booked to stay at hotel but was placed in some Annex nearby. Rooms were incredibly damp and really stank. Bugs everywhere and staff less than unhelpful. Do not waste your money here - other reviews online will back you up. The worst place to stay for a lovely place like Bruges

Awful place to stay, communal areas look fine but the bedrooms in this hotel are in a grotty awful state and it needs a full renovation, would not recommend at all - we went with friends who also rented a room here and were pretty underwhelmed by the whole experience - in addition when we booked why were we not told that there was a massive fun fair open till midnight situated 50 yards from our bedroom window, you can imagine how much sleep we got, on the final evening they started dismantling it which finished around 4am, it is little surprise

This was central to where we wanted to go. Easy walking distance . A very small place but the receptions area was always respectful and friendly. We did not use the restaurant but it was available. Enjoyed our stay there.

A good choice all round

Hotel was able to check me in early. Sarah, the front desk receptionist on-duty, provided tips on how to make the best of my stay. Amongst others, she provided the name of a restaurant that serves authentic Flemish food in this UNESCO-listed, historic City. This restaurant, De Vlaamsche Pot, is located a short walk away from Hotel Putje. I had dinner there. Hotel Putje is near the Brugge Train Station. It is surprisely quiet.

The horel is situated ten minute walk to the train station. And easy walk to centre. The room was warm, clean and comfortable. We didnt eat here so cannot comment. Receptionist a young girl friendky helpful answered our questions would definitely recommend and stay here again

It's a very nice hotel in the general areas like the lobby, living room/library, breakfast hall, etc but when going to our room (I think it was 101) we had to walk through a very long hallway, with stairs going up and down and no one to help us with the luggage. The carpet looked quite dirty and old, and our room, since it was at the very end, had the ceiling lower in some areas, so you had to be aware of it. Also they seemed to have humidity problems, you could notice it mainly in the bathroom, where (by the way) had no light in the shower, so it could get a bit dark.
Now, when we arrived we noticed that a double bed/king size was prepared, but we booked 2 separate twin beds, so the person in the front desk had to get new sheets, separate the beds, etc (it would seem he was the only staff member in the hotel...).
Apart from that, the room was okay in size, it had a refrigerator, safe deposit box, closet, big mirror, etc
Regarding the breakfast buffet (not included, I believe 14 eur): I liked they had fresh fruit and the eggs, bacon, bread, etc were really fresh, made there a few minutes ago, but they didn't seem to calculate well enough how many people would be eating, so it ran out very fast and the other person in the front desk would sometimes be checking you wouldn't take anything extra that wouldn't be eaten there...
The location is very convenient since it's like a 10min walk from Grote Markt (market Square), but there are many restaurants, stores, churches...

I was very pleased with the cost - value range. I enjoyed my bath tub and the view from the roof window. I got superb friendly service and the breakfast was good.Thank you🙏

Just off the beaten track but really close to the historic centre of Bruges.

I found the value for the deluxe room very poor. There was no kettle or complementary coffee/tea which I think it’s almost standard for anything to be barely considered “deluxe” - the kettle was available on request which made things better for us however during our stay we spent a whole day without hot water - then again, why call it deluxe when you are putting people through cold water at -3 C weather? - it was clearly a recently renovated room and everything of course felt new and clean which made out stay safe and comfy enough, but to call it worth “deluxe” no, not at all. It was a basic experience. Our “deluxe” room had a view to nowhere, which I wouldn’t mind if the room was a little bit nicer, but that wasn’t the case. I found the desk and chair comfortable enough to work. In one of these days I guess they were working on something but we arrived to an awful sewer smell in the halls, reception area and through the stairs, we locked ourselves in the room and it seemed to be better. The next day the smell was gone. The staff was very young but bilingual, meaning, they were slightly careless but at the same time their training was enough to get through our stay. They answered to our questions and requests respectfully and I appreciate that a lot. I understand that running businesses in Belgium is expensive but I don’t think that complementary coffee or tea would make any business bankrupt, probably the contrary, because showing care and hospitality is good in the long run

Escalators only go up to the 3rd floor and people staying on 4th floor had to walk up the stairs from the 3rd floor which was right next to my room, so the door kept slamming every time people were using the stairs. Extremely loud and frustrating.

It was a nice stay overall.

This hotel was a complete disappointment!
The only fairly good thing about it was its location.
The hotel was undergoing building works and was so messy.
Our bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Mattress was stained and sheets didn’t fit so they came off to expose the bare mattress each night.
The bath had stains and chips in it - again very unhygienic.
Floor boards were coming up and floor was dirty.
The staff at the reception were really moody and unhelpful.
The rooms were hard to find and had to clamber up tight staircases with suitcases.
Would definitely recommend spending a bit more and staying somewhere nice!

No hot water, dirty bed sheets and heating not adequate. Would not recommend except for location.

Lovely hotel in a quiet central area of Bruges. The rooms are compact and generally clean although there are some stains on carpets etc. this is my second time staying and will stay again

The staff was very helpful and friendly, the room was clean, and the location was great (right next to the concert hall, short walk from the convention center, easy walk along shopping areas to get to the city center).
The room I had was very plain, but comfortable.

If I do come back to Bruges, and I probably will, then this will be the place I stay at.

Hotel is a good walking distance from the train station. We stayed in the triple beds room on the 4th floor (arctic). It is clean and roomy. It has 2 fans, which are perfect for fall season (no AC). We brought a foldable travel kettle to make instant coffee in early morning or cup of tea late at night. The room has small refrigerator, but no kettle.
Front desk was professional and friendly, efficient check-in/out. We felt welcome. Overall, we had a good experience.

The girl at the reception was so lovely to help my bag to carry upstairs … place is lovely very well located east walk to main square and central station only inconvenience is no elevators ….

Everything was within walking distance, that was perfect. On the other hand we weren’t as happy about the room. When we entered the room, there was a stale smell. We slept with our doors open for fresh air. The carpet and curtains clearly have been wet during others peoples stays and were therefore slightly molded/stained. I would not like to walk on it barefoot. For us the bed is the most important since we are only there to sleep because we tend to be in the city as much as possible anyways. The bed was perfect.

Lovely property, amazing area. Just a short walk from the train station and just minutes from the main square and attractions. There was some construction going on during our stay but there wasn't any noise that interrupted us or anything. Staff was ok, friendly enough. Clean as well, great room and they switched out our towels daily and made the bed. Highly recommend.

A good option in the heart of Bruges, although the staff were a bit cold, the dining was expensive and the lobby was in construction. Otherwise, an excellent room, clean and comfortable. I would recommend Hotel t’ Putje

Room we received was not remotely close to one shown on site. Hotel has 4 floors but elevator only goes to 3. Small stairs lead to the attic where we stayed. If not for the nice young lady that helped get a bag up to the room we would not have made it. Upon arrivals we find excrement in the stool and it stank. As it is in an attic it was very hot. They did supply a fan that allowed us to get some sleep. First morning up we try to get a cup of coffee as there is none in the room. After going downstairs and getting two cups we are told they do not sell just coffee and we need to pay 14.50 Euro for the Buffett. We just wanted coffee. First time in our life in dozens of hotels that we did not get coffee provided and for sure not for 14.50 a cup. They finally conceded and allowed us to keep it. Then the manager insinuated we had not paid even us we had just worked with the restaurant manager.
Would never suggest anyone go there for a stay. Only the one lady that assisted us with our bag was customer friendly.

It’s an old kinda hotel but it’s on going renovation.
Being said it’s not a bad hotel. I had a nice room cozy room up in the attic. With the view all over the area. Bathroom is good had a good size tub but if you’re a taller person I think your head will hit the ceiling. Over all I would come and stay there again. Walking distance to everywhere .

We were on foot for our trip and happy that the hotel was a short walk from the station. The location was great, right next to the shops, restaurants and market. The hotel it's self was quaint and old. Our room was clean but the air conditioning didn't work and due to location we could not have the windows open at night, so sleeping was hot and stuffy. The bathroom was clean and the bath tub scored 10/10 for me! It was deep, long and water was hot! I had an amazing long soak in the tub! There were no tea, coffee and milk facilities in the bedroom, which to me was something I would have liked for that early morning beverage. Staff on front desk were not too friendly, but ok. All in all a good stay and I would stay there again.
