Loved the lake or pond attached to hotel

Room was disgusting. Mold. It was all around a horrible experience!

Clean, comfy, and nice balcony views of the lake behind it.

Unstaffed at night. Had tornado warning and guests were left to improvise safety protocol with no electricity. Very chaotic, some guests hid in bathroom on main floor because of smaller windows, we stayed in room in dark. Front desk unapologetic about the situation. Would not stay again.

Nice balcony onto the lake

The property is very old and in disrepair. There was garbage on the floor of the hallway. The balconies feel unsafe as if they are rotting. The door to my balcony did not lock. The lake smells very bad, which is no one’s fault but you might not want to sit on that sketchy balcony. The worst part is the service because you need to use a phone on the wall to call for someone to come to the lobby. Oat check in and check out I was waiting for more than half an hour with no one answering. I finally just left. Not the person on duty’s fault necessarily but poor policy and worth considering if you are traveling alone or are in a rush.

Views from the room and balcony were awesome. Room was clean. We had a quiet and restful night. Seems to be quite a few maintenance items that need to be addressed

Stay was average no issues just basic set up

Do yourself a favor and stay ANYWHERE but here!! The bed was the worst we’ve ever slept on at a hotel (and we travel pretty often)…the bathroom was old and tired and didn’t feel clean …hallways felt the same. There were people grilling in the parking lot …I don’t think I need to go on.

Once inside the room, things were fine. The exterior of the hotel needs attention, like repairing broken windows and paint. Inside the hallways were not air conditioned and carpet needing replacement.

The hotel was clean Will stay at again.

It was 'ok'. The pros: clean, good air conditioning, comfortable mattress, plenty of hot water, view of lake and balcony were great! Cons: only 2 towels provided (we rented the spa room- and for $200 a night i believe an extra towel is warranted), free breakfast was continental. No fault of the hotel, but when booking 'the Amish Inn' and free bkfst provided...led me to erroneously assume it would be a delicious hot breakfast. No coffee provided in the lobby. Just in your room. Nothing horrible- just very basic, but over-priced.

What a great place to stay at! I have no idea how this place has a lower rating than their next door neighbors on the left. All the rooms are lake view. Couldn’t hear anything from the people in the room next to me. People weren’t heard slamming their doors across the hall all night. No trash laying outside the doors of every room. The bathroom floors weren’t falling apart…all of which I can’t say the same for the hotel next door. It was also so soothing sitting outside on the balcony late in the evening, especially after the sun sets, and listening to the trains go by right across from the lake and whatnot. I’ll definitely be staying here again the next time I come to this town to do my train hobby. If there’s one negative I had to mention about this place, is that I would recommend bringing your own shampoo and body lotion for showering purposes.

This is not a fancy chain hotel, but it's very cute and the balcony overlooking the lake made for a nice touch! Staff was helpful and kind. It was very quiet!

Property is dated. Toilet and vanity sat very close to the ground.

Excellent site actually hands over a lake that is brimming with wildlife like birds, fish and turtles. It is located near beaches national and state parks that are in a unique area of the great lakes that migratory birds go through. Hotel was designed well but no maintenance or anything other than basic services are supported. Nothing to justify high price for rooms.

We’ve stayed here many times. The only concern is the sometimes spotty wi-fi. Always comfortable and the wildlife is entertaining, especially the turtles and swallows. Will return.

I loved the location and the balcony with the view was amazing! Did not care for the AC unit being wired to only set at a certain temperature because it did not get cool in the summer heat at all that way. I understand wanting to save some money for the property but it was uncomfortable during the day. At night leaving the screen door open to the balcony made it much cooler which was great!! The staff were super friendly and kind! We were unable to check in early, which is totally okay, and they were apologetic but still quick to get us in by the 3pm standard check in time with no issues! Highly recommend staying here if ever in the area!

The property was older but nice. It was older and parts of it were not very clean. However it is conveniently located to lots of dining etc

Nice front lobby and view, but other than that they close the lobby for certain hours and I slept the whole night without realizing my sheets had stains on tjem

The location was great, most of the restaurants were close too, but that’s pretty much all. There weren’t any facilities at the hotel whatsoever, especially for the price paid. The service was subpar and I doubt I’d visit again.

The rooms were huge and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. The view was beautiful. It could use some updating and amenities and maybe some deep cleaning in the common areas but It is definitely worth the price for a place to lay your head!

Fair price and a decent place to stay. We had no issues and room was nice enough and clean. No staff around anywhere.
