Staff was really nice and helpful. As hotel guests we do have an anticipated entrance to the park but most of attractions open after 11am

Unfortunately didn’t recognise Expedia gold member status and when I spoke to different staff including a manager they said they never heard of such benefits which was disappointing. Convenient to parks and clean. Food - we went full board - breakfast was ok decent selection. However, avoid dinner in buffet at hotel it was poor selection and no drinks available (not even water) you have to buy wine or beer. Exchange your voucher for one of restaurants in park or the la Liga one just outside.

Fantastic hotel, we stayed at the Callaghan building but used the main hotel for check in and meal times. It was spotless, staff were friendly and everyone in our family loved the theme. Hotel has own entrance to the park which was handy. Food was very good, huge choice at buffet. Drinks prices were very reasonable. Would recommend.

This is our 3rd year to PortAventura and second year staying at Golden river. The hotel is stunning and very clean in the common areas. We had booked double and twin beds but we had two doubles, this also happened last year so we were particularly careful when booking this time to book twin beds as one of ours sons is an autistic adult. They kindly upgraded us to a family room which was so nice. The room was spacious and had a kitchenette with a microwave and a large fridge which was great as we our boys like to have their favourite drinks and snacks. Aircon is very good and the shower is very powerful (too powerful as I worry about water waste). The room was cleaned every day which was lovely. We ordered a wheelchair because due to an injury I was unable to walk long distances or climb any stairs but this hotel is excellently adapted to those needs. The dropped the chair off to us and picked it up at the end of our stay for a €9 a day and €20 cash deposit. Unfortunately the buffet etiquette disappointed me this year, I felt it was over crowded and too many children unsupervised making a mess. I appreciate it’s a theme park but some rules need to be in place for eg, children under 10 should have an accompanying adult. They push in, take too much food and waste it and make an incredible mess. I saw two small children take sweets with their hands, I saw an older child struggling to pick up fruit one at a time ?? Adults can be equally rude pushing in front.

Great experience!

We wanted to stay on site to attend Ferrari Land and Portaventura. Due to it being offseason, there was not a shuttle. Ferrari Land is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel but has direct access to Portaventura. This allowed us to get on Uncharted very quickly and beat the rush. Overall, really enjoyed the entertainment and thought the price was great value.

Hotel overall is fine but dinner service is like the Wild West and make sure and eat fast. Park operations are amongst the worst that I have experienced globally….and I’ve been to a lot of theme parks. They heavily promote express pass and it shows….2 hour queues with one train on is unacceptable. Sadly I will not be rushing back.

Stayed at Callaghan's (part of Gold River Hotel). Quiet hotel, big rooms and good beds. Easy parking, delicious breakfast and buffet dinner. Hotel is closeby entrance of Port Aventura, has a great swimming pool. Staff is friendly.

We had a great time in PortAventura, we stayed in Gold River Callaghan. We had full board; breakfast and dinner were at the main building; for lunch you have QR codes and use it various restaurants in all over the park. Rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet. ParkAventura park was all fun, and staff were great.

After reading many reviews, we decided to visit the Gold River Hotel and it was first class on all levels. I have previously stayed at Disneyland Paris Hotels with my family and this is every bit as good. The quality of the food is excellent. They offer various slots for breakfast and evening meal, which suited us perfectly. Having unrestricted access to the park is ideal as we found queue times to be busy during the day but come back about 9PM and the ride queues are all very short. We had a connecting family room, which was very comfortable and spacious. I would highly recommend this hotel.

They refused to give me VIP benefits. I asked at checking and after paying full price for dinner and when asking for late checkout. One supervisor said he didn’t know anything about Expedia gold status.

Great hotel (for when you want to visit PortAventura). Great value for your money. Dinner buffet, breakfast buffet. Basically all you can eat (within 1h for dinner and 40m for breakfast). There are swimming pools, tickets to the park are included and you can even go to Ferrariland even when you spent most of the day in the main park. Maybe next year again :-)

The hotel would not apply any of the gold exclusive benefits that you get with hotels.com. We didn’t even ask about the room upgrade. It was not given. And the 20% off in the food was not applied at the restaurant because they didn’t know about it. We showed them the booking with the discount, and they refused to apply. The hotel in Sevilla the night before applied a late check out as it was possible. And also brought us the bottle of bubbles to the room, all without even asking. As it was given at the time of booking.

Property itself is very nice and enjoyable, but terrible service and problem solving - not trained representative, 3hrs waiting on a reception from 1am - 4am letting me to solve the case of missing room

We had a brilliant holiday. The family rooms were great as we were connected with our kids but they were in a separate room. Having your own entrance into the park was great for popping back to the hotel during the day. We loved the pools and had lunch most days from the poolside restaurant.

Just a few minutes away from the park which was very convenient. Loveky food with plenty of choice. Spacious rooms and the hotel was spotless. The only downside was the long check in queue and the lack of information given at check in. They rely on you using the park app for everything and this app is badly designed.

Lovely hotel just beside the theme park. Could go on and out of the park at any time. The staff were amazing too. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Also park really busy so had to purchase fast pass tickets for an additional é270, no real benefit of staying in hotel. No entertainment after 6pm. Wallet was stolen in hotel and staff extremely unhelpful. Very disappointed, overpriced

This hotel is incredible. From the moment you walk through the doors you are transported into a different world. The theming of this hotel is just insane. The swimming pools are amazing and the walk to the theme park takes about 60 seconds. The service was a bit hit and miss but that was purely down to the fact of how short staffed they were. But that wasn’t the staffs fault. Some nights they were so rushed off their feet it was not good. But they did their best. My advice is do not pay for half board to have the buffet included in your stay. It’s so expensive and the quality is not as good as the on site restaurant which was really nice food! If you’re coming to Portaventura you simply have to stay here. Yes it might be a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. A truly memorable experience!
