An outstanding family run hotel in chalet style - nothing too much trouble and many little extras with a permanent smile . The food is without doubt the best we had including visiting the grandest establishments/hotels but very competitive prices. Check it all out

I don’t usually write reviews but felt compelled to write about le grand chalet. Excellent hotel with fantastic staff. Great views, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast (included, how refreshing!), fabulous wine list, helpful transportation service. Special thanks to Carol for all the advice, help with bookings, and making us feel so welcome; and to Charles for making the logistics of getting to/from Ski slopes and town so seamless. This was our first time to le grand chalet. We are already planning coming back next year for another long weekend. Top marks!

An absolutely fantastic stay at this wonderful hotel. Service was great, the staff really friendly and the hotel was just perfect. The rooms were spacious and look much better than on the website. The breakfast had alot of choice and from the restaurant there was a beautiful view over Gstaad. A 15 minute walk into town was just right but there was also a shuttle bus if needed. Thoroughly recommended

Staying at Le Grand Chalet was a delight. We had been upgraded to include large seating area, large balcony and a view of the valley thats was breath taking. Breakfast was a large choice buffer with all the typical Swiss options. We would recommend dining at the hotel, the food was the best and at around 60 euros if eating off the half board menu was excellent value at Swiss prices. Only one small drawback, the hotel is situated high on the hill-side and unless you are part mountain goat its a long walk on a steep hill. However the hotel staff will come and collect you with a smile and at no additional cost, which we used an four occasions.

Only downside is that the hotel allows people to smoke on the balcony of the rooms and unfortunately we stayed next to a couple who seem to spend the whole time from morning to evening smoking
Area wise - most of the cable cars/ lifts only opens in July - so if you arrive earlier - expect some steep hikes.

Fully deserving of its high ranking, Le Grand Chalet scores on all fronts: rooms, service, food, condition, and area. The service was impeccable, from maid service to pick-up and drop-off at the ski areas, as well as the handling of special requests. The dining room serving French cuisine is one of the best in the region, and the wine list is one of the best not just in Gstaad, but all of Switzerland. Not to be missed is the breakfast buffet.

We come back to the Grand Chalet in Gstaad every year. It truly represents the best of what Switzerland offers. A wonderful chalet (not one of this big impersonal hotels) that offers great facilities and a most welcoming hotel staff. They make you feel at home and are always there to help and guide you in your many discoveries in this beautiful town of Gstaad in the Berner Oberland. The restaurant La Bagatelle is first class and offers, in addition to meat dishes, the best ocean fish you can find. Enjoy the panoramic terrace in the evening. Breathtaking and so quiet and relaxing. A WINNER that will make you come back and appreciate true Swiss hospitality.
