This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Estes or RMNP. Great staff, fun property and walkable to Estes. We loved our stay there.

Absolutely loved our stay at Murphys River Lodge! Seeing a huge elk with several cos and calves was the best! The animals stroll around the property as if they own it. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and the indoor pool/hot tub. Easy walk to a busy part of town with dining and shopping. Great location for visiting RMNP.

The property was walking distance to town which was nice.

Loved the ambiance of the property. So very peaceful. The back porch and river rushing right outside our door made for the most tranquil, serene feel. Really beautiful setting

The trolley went right past the hotel to take you to the shops and restaurants in town.

You could even fish from your balcony Comfy bed and pillows with great sheets Friendly staff Refrigerator The office area has supplies for s’mores, snacks, and oxygen if needed Fire pits are near the office as well Pool and hot tub indoors Negative: Very dated property that could use some updating Provided breakfast was very limited Room lighting was not very bright No exhaust fan in the bathroom, so after a shower, the bathroom was very hot and humid; we opened a window to allow the steam to escape. Bathroom lights were dim (one was out) and were probably incandescent bc they heated up the small bath as well. Limited plugs by the bed with no usb ports. It would have been nice to have a surge protector by the bed with multiple plugs. Some of these are minor fixes that would improve the quality of the stay.

Quaint and cozy spot walkable to shops and dining. Friendly and helpful staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

I really like the property and amenities. Breakfast had a variety of foods and the pool and hot tub were very clean! The river view is really worth it. Very beautiful!

Great location. Overall good experience, with a few downsides: 1. the A/C are very basic and would either cool too much or not enough 2. breakfast is *very* basic (eggs and yogurt)

Great location by the river, right outside downtown Estes, with easy access to RMNP. Staff is fantastic, room was roomy, clean and quiet. Bed and mattresse were great. Only feels a little outdated. But still, very adequate!

The absolute best was the river running outside our room. It was serene & so relaxing!!

The property was clean, convenient to town and close RMNP. I did not have a stream side room. That said, there was very little room to sit outside. There is a fire pit, two picnic tables and a swinging bench, all in a 40ft by 30ft area, estimated. I did sit there several times and it was nice when there wasn’t a crowd or a fire going. I did not use the indoor pool but it looked well maintained. There is also a lawn games area near the front of the property that would be fun for kids. I was there as a home base for day hiking in the park. Nothing really tuned me off or on, that’s why I rated it average.

We had a nice short stay at the Lodge. Definitely get the room with the view of the river. The value is worth the extra coins!!

Staff was all around great from check-in to check-out. We were able to get a movie and popcorn from the office and also complimentary toothbrushes! Pool area was nice and clean. Love Room 190 right on the river!

Property was close to the national park. Room was dated, but clean. Nice hotel.

I honestly expected the property to be a little more run down and have a funny smell. But it was AMAZING! Our room was so cute and perfect for our family of 3. We had a full kitchen that was stocked with essentials like silverware and dish soap. There was a small dining table with stools which made it so convenient to eat our own food. The back patio opened up right to the river and was so peaceful. It had a small in room heater/AC which made the room nice and warm very fast. The bathroom was basic and simple. The pool was pretty typical and the hot tub was a nice addition! They had a fire pit with a fire going every evening. Relaxing chairs to sit around outside. They had things available for purchase in the office too like skewers for roasting marshmallows. The breakfast wasn’t anything too exciting, mostly just prepackaged stuff. But it was free. The staff were all very friendly and it was easy to find someone if you needed. The guy with the Tesla and hoverboard just seems like he really enjoys working and being there and is living the dream. They had lots of cute little touches, like toilet paper and tissue flowers, folded animal towels, and a complimentary water with candy at check out. The location is very walkable if you don’t mind a little walk, but we did not. We would definitely stay here again!

Loved the location and serenity

Staff was friendly, and room was nice. They offered free board games, movies, and popcorn. The breakfast was minimal to say the least, but we didn't stay there for the breakfast!

Breakfast was poor

I made reservations on Hotels.com for a room for one night. (I think I selected the most economical option, so at least part of this is on me. --I'm not trashing this place, so if that's your hope, please keep scrolling!) Our room was above the office, which, off-season was mostly fine. The walls are thin and in the summer time, I'd guess they'd be quite warm and loud. We had a crying baby next door (babies cry, life happens), but we also had a fire alarm (I think someone burned pizza -- again, life happens.) The room was clean, we had a great view, and it was in reasonable proximity to a lot of other amenities, which was nice. What I didn't care for: I reserved on Hotels.com, with the premise that I'd pay the date we checked in. Someone from the Lodge called the same day I made the reservation to ensure we were coming and then charged my card (I didn't appreciate that). I also received several text messages, encouraging me to register online -- that's really not easy to do with my phone, so didn't much appreciate that either. And then there were at least two email messages. Communication is good and I normally encourage it. This was a little more attention than I was prepared for. In all, we'd probably stay again, but not in the same room, and I'd make sure to communicate my expectations about payment and room preference.
