Very close to old walled part of the city. Parking is tough. Ask ahead for options. The host was very gracious. Great shower and tasty breakfast.

Christine the hostess welcomed us warmly and showed us the facility of hotel. Although available for us we did not use the spa. We were able to find free street parking near the hotel. Walking to the old town takes 10 minutes. Breakfast was excellent. Overall a very pleasant stay

La Maison de la Garenne is a lovely, old three story mansion near the top of a small hill, and next to a park, just beyond the old city walls. It has about five rooms. Ours was a perfectly adequate size room, with a four poster bed, on the top floor (no elevator but the stairs are easy) overlooking the park. Breakfast (with cereal, eggs to order, yogurt, croissants, breads, juices) is on the second floor. Parking for a car is available €13/night) in the courtyard in front of the mansion but is limited. Free parking is available near by. The hostess/owner could not be more pleasant or helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at Maison de la Garenne. The maison is simply stunning and the inside is just as beautiful. Our room was immaculate and had a lovely view over the garden, where there is a small pool. The breakfast was also fab, and the owner really lovely and helpful. The Maison is well positioned in Vannes and a 2 min walk from the old town and a short walk to the marina (where we had a wonderful dinner) I would highly recommend staying here and would certainly stay again!

We stayed relaxing and quite environment in Vannes thanks to this charming Chambre d'hote. It has 5 rooms, but looks nice. Ours was the deluxe type, which was opened in July. Therefore, the bedroom was new, clean with the basic colour was white and woody and a hint of red. The landowers are nice and gentle persons and the assistants ladies are helpful and very nice. The location is also good. It is just in front of the main gate to the castle. we enjoyed breakfast, too.

By the sea in an ancient city, this small hotel offers everything: proximity to many tourist attractions and to the old port, lovely facilities in a beautiful old mansion, cleanliness, quietness. The best!

Although the rooms and the breakfast are excellent at this hotel we went away after having building work done on our house only to be somewhere that was not only having work carried out in the basement which started noisily each morning early their was also a pool being built in the garden, they charged 13 euros a night to park your car but it was surrounded and blocked in by work vans which was not the tranquil place it looks on the website. I feel if places are having this sort of work carried out it is not fair to have people paying good money to stay here. Very sad as the house itself when finished will be lovely but not right now. The bedroom and bathroom was excellent and the lady owner very friendly.

My advice to travellers, if they typically have too much luggage, is to pay extra for on site parking, or arrange with the hotel owners for you to drop off/pick up your luggage. There is a free car park right next to the hotel, but you have a choice of either a long walk or steps negotiate.

Room was excellent, breakfast and conversation excellent, and owners were wonderful.
