Great place to stay for kids with the pool area (with a water slide) and the arcade room. Every member of the staff we engaged with was pleasant and accommodating. The room was super clean and up to date. The food and service at the restaurant was too notch. Overall the whole experience exceeding our expectations. Will definitely stay at John Carver Inn again.

It was very outdated, all the machines were out of service, or sold out. The front counter guy had his friends hanging out. But it was downtown, so it was convenient

Customer service was poor. In addition to staying we also had a contract for a pool birthday party.
Well, the pool and pool area was super cold that the kids did not want to swim. They also are not allowed to use the hot top or sauna and a parent was reprimanded after bringing her son in the sauna to get warm.
It was a mess and I was embarrassed since I was the one hosting.
… when I talked to the front desk, after the teens watching over us and enforcing the rules agreed the pool and room temperature is never this cold, the front desk noted that something did ha-pen over night where it was not heating but fine now.. this is untrue.
I was not offered any other options or compensation. Just an apology that did it seem genuine.
Later after the party we were given money off the party but honestly it was not even remotely enough to feel like there was any real care.

Room was very comfortable. Yes it is an older building however they seem to have done a good job to keep it updated. The town was so charming and we will be going back to spend more time and will stay here again.

Booked this hotel last minute because everything in Boston was so expensive. The clerk that evening was delightful and steered us toward a really nice place to grab a bite. The bed was comfortable, shower was hot, room was clean! It’s been updated a bit, but I personally enjoy the rustic charm it still holds. It’s not a 5 star place, but it’s homey and a nice little mom and pop type of inn.

Great locale but hotel is out dated but rooms are updated. Poorly cleaned rooms. The pool would have been fun if it wasn't for the onslaught of rules.

We found this to be a very good choice for visiting Plymouth. The location can’t be beat, it is right near all the historic sites. Very nice pool area, which kids would love. Rooms were clean and comfortable and we’d definitely stay here again.

The staff was absolutely outstanding. The queen suite we stayed in though could had used some tlc. There were some issues with the jet tub, fireplace wasnt working and second night came back from dinner and the ac stopped working. The staff was incredibly attentive, immediately checked after calling and had us switch to a nearby room. The pool and arcade were alot of fun, water slide a huge hit. The hot tub was not operational, though didn't distract from the fun. Perfect location to wander downtown and the waterfront. Would definitely stay again.

It’s in a great location, close to the Main Street, and walking distance to the Harborside and different historic places. The room was clean and the indoor pool was good for keeping the kid's entertainment.

It was a nice place. Close to the waterfront, downtown, and a very nice park across the street.

Honestly, the beds were not comfortable, so I left the same night and came home to my own bed. That’s the only problem I had. My son couldn’t even sleep correctly because he wasn’t comfortable.

While I enjoyed the updates in the rooms, the walls are super thin. It wasn’t as if they were loud- I could hear everything. We were easily granted a new room. Hopefully the hotel will update its rickety single elevator and overbearing smell of pool and mold in the lobby. The location of this hotel in downtown Plymouth can’t be beat.

The smell wasn’t pleasing, kind of a musty smell but, it is an old building. Wish there was a microwave in the room. Not a bad stay overall.

The kids liked the pool a lot, the adults enjoyed the friendly environment of the CJ restaurant as well as the hotel itself. Being located downtown in a Plymouth is a big pro.

The hotel is centrally located to all the history places, shopping and food. I loved walking around Plymouth. The people were nice and the area was well kept

Centrally located, you can walk to the Mayflower II or the Grist Mill. The food in the dining room was delicious both for dinner and breakfast. The pool was cute and great for families.

The hotel is well located and within walking distance to the water front and attractions. The big issue we had was the noise level of the air conditioning in our room. My husband had to use ear plugs to sleep and I, who normally hears my husband’s snoring, couldn’t even hear it when he was in the same bed as me!! Most people would say this made for a nice break, however I prefer the snoring over nights with little sleep and headaches in the morning. Definitely something they need to update.
