Great budget accommodation

Good hotel, quiet and centrally located near the outskirts of the CBD. Close to shopping and few take away stores

The rooms were modern and clean. Lighting was a bit dim in the room, but we got used to it. The location was good for all the day trips.

Good for the money

Arrived tired after a long day travelling and was met with a warm friendly welcome. The guy kindly carried my case to my room. Room was small but fine for my use. Very clean. Bedding immaculate. Lots of hot water with an excellent shower. Staff were very helpful

Good location but I don’t like hotel to record or contain my data in their system. I am not feel comfortable with it.

Single Room is small but clean and tidy. Is part of Hotel so was a little noisey till midnight

Sean, the venue manager, greeted us on arrival and he was lovely! Our room was fantastic - very clean, amazing high ceilings, etc. the bistro downstairs was great! All staff were very friendly and attentive! I will define stay here again!

Very nicely decorated/renovated rooms. The bathroom was huge and amazing. However, there is no lift to rooms on the upper floors and the walls are quite thin i.e. we could hear other guests and even the children playing in the ball pit downstairs in the restaurant.

Room was clean and comfortable and we appreciated the cartons of milk in the fridge. We also found the car parking to be good. We were not impressed by the breakfast offering which we chose not to have and we were also unimpressed by the lack of vegetables and salads in the Bistro. You could also include some herbal teas in the bedrooms.

Great location, clean and comfy beds. Didn't like the 2 airfreshners in the room they where way to strong so i put them outside.

Good location Small but clean rooms You are staying in a pub so be aware that people can be noisy when they arrive back during the night hours

Great family motel with a lovely atmosphere. Although situated on a busy intersection, this motel is spacious and relaxing to stay. Our room was right on the corner of their intersection but we really only heard the traffic if it was an emergency vehicle with sirens. Ear plugs for sleeping were also provided in the room however we didn’t need them. The staff were fantastic and welcoming. Food in the restaurant was yummy. Great place to stay. Would happily stay again.

Super clean with very comfy beds , updated very nicely . So perfect for our weekend stay . Good meals in hotel downstairs . Upstairs rooms only accessible by stairs .

Clean bathroom.

Surprised! I booked a single room and got a room with 2 queen bed. Clean room, everything look new. Toilet, not big but good shower, all tiled. Is a plus they offer free Netflix, free Prime and looks like free Stan. Also, they provide free bottled water. Minifridge doesn't have a freeze section and no microwave in the room. Stay for 2 nights due to a job in the area, will book again for sure

Good value accommodation, centrally located with great food available on site. Staff where super helpful, check in can be done later than most places if required.

While on a weekend trip around the South East region, I chose The Federal Hotel as a well priced Saturday night stay near the centre of Mount Gambier city.Be aware that if you are driving, the car park is shared with the on-site Dan Murphy and hotel patrons, so can be busy and a little hard to find a park near the rooms.Checkin was easy. The bedroom, while small with a single bed, was comfortable with a spacious ensuite bathroom. There are other rooms available, some facing outside and some inside.The room, while being relatively close to the front bar and above the dining bistro, was just far enough away so that noise was not really an issue.Overall, an ideal location for a well priced comfortable overnight stay, with lots of shopping and dining options and a discount at the hotel itself.

Friendly staff + 10% off for hotel guest dining in their bistro. Clean & updated room. The only negative is the bathroom vanity sink is too small.

Nice clean rooms and very comfortable beds. However noise was a real issue and would prevent us staying there again.
