Didn't like our pillows which we lumpy and hard
The mattress had a wire spring sticking out the side which poked into me if I sat on the edge of the bed.. Otherwise though the bed was comfortable

Comfortable little room with brand new bathroom and great shower head. Comfortable bed. As someone who finds it hard to sleep with any amount of light, I appreciated that the exterior lights went off at some point so that the room was dark enough to get a decent sleep. Friendly service.

The staff were helpful and lovely to talk to. The room was clean and more comfortable than we expected. It was also great to see a EV charger on the property, so we will be coming back if we are travelling in the part of Victoria again.

A quiet retreat. Located on the main road through town but very quiet in our room. Extremely helpful staff in accommodating a very late check in. Rooms are clean, tidy and offer all the resources you need. Very happy to have chosen the Otway Gate Hotel and would happily do so again.

It’s excellent value for money. I don’t want or need a bottle of wine on arrival or a spa in the corner. I just want a good bed with clean sheets and clean towels and these are always provided. I have stayed there several times and will do so again

The owners Graeme and Lily are extraordinarily kind and thoughtful people. Nothing was a problem. More than that they solved issues I thought before arrival may involve some discussion or negotiation; I should never have worried in advance because Graeme and Lily smiled, laughed and put my wife, myself and our family unit at total ease. I’m am So grateful to them and their team of hard workers. I’m planning a return visit in the next 12 months to use their motel as our base and explore as far afield as Apollo Bay, Skenes Creek, Forest, Beech Forest, Gellibrand, Wild Dog Creek Rd, the Great Otway National Park, Birragurra, Winchlesea, Deans Marsh and much, much more. Thank you from the depths of our hearts Graeme and Lily. xx

Management were very understanding when we complained about an odour in the room. They attended to it straight away.

We booked as we just needed somewhere to stay the night and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were fresh and clean, looking like they had been redone fairly recently. Bathroom was spotless and the towels fluffy. We struggled with getting many channels on the tv, but there was a small DVD library available at reception.
All in all, we would definitely stay again.

It was clean, comfortable, the breakfast was varied and hot, an best of all we were able to have it in the dining room and converse with the friendly staff. We would definitely stay there again.

We could not take shower as the hot water supply was not good. It was taking so long time and water pressure was very low which apparently did not make the cold water to hot. I informed the issue to hotel manager and she said that it would be fixed immediately. But the hot water supply did not work properly till our sign out.
