Every single person that I encountered with the staff was very friendly. They were helpful with suggestions for dinner and directions. The location was very walkable. For anything outside of workability, the bus station was just five minutes away and very easy to use. The breakfast was just OK. But the afternoon, coffee and cookies were wonderful!

Just 1 night and this hotel had a lot of character - nice fresh cookies on arrival, a warm cup of coffee - always open door and friendly team running it too.

Zero housekeeping. Asked for towels two out of four nights. They never showed up. One clerk was rude. She said "we aren't allowed to go into the rooms". Really? Do you not clean them and change the towels when I leave.
Breakfast mediocre. Property old and furniture scratched and old. A low three star property. Take it from someone that travels 100 to 150 nights a year. For over 30 years.

Quaint property but very dated furnishings and not super clean surfaces in room. Extremely convenient location and parking made it so we never had to move our car!

I liked the history and the feel of the place. The staff were all very helpful. Lots of breakfast choices, and the coffee ...much needed...was good and hot. Very cozy Inn. A Good place to rest your head.

Enjoyed a two night stay with my husband and son. excellent location within walking distance of so many great restaurants and shops in the beautiful Newport area. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was delicious and the warm cookies in the afternoon were a treat! We will be back for sure.

Interesting history to the Jailhouse Inn. I wish they would have more historical decoration. We were in room 8 on the main floor. The stairs were above us so it was noisy when people walked up and down the stairs. Otherwise street noise was tolerable. Nice breakfast with cold cuts, cheese and fresh berries. No coffee maker in the room, but coffee was always available in the breakfast room. Small in room fridge located in the closet. They have parking lot located to the left of the Inn.

Unique inn as it used to be a police/jail. Some of the bars are still there. Convenient to shops, restaurants and the wharf. Clean, comfortable bed, and the continental breakfast had a lot of variety.

Roomy, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. Carpet in room a little threadbare and found old bloody bandaid on carpet in room so wonder if room was vacuumed. Would recommend removing carpet as most places have replaced with vinyl flooring as is more sanitary. Interesting place

This is a beautiful hotel right in the center of everything with walkable distance to restaurants, shopping, marina.
Breakfast is good, there are always home baked cookies throughout the day, fruits, and coffee which is great. Water is also there free of change.
I will stay there again.

Jailhouse Inn is a centrally located bed and breakfast with comfortable beds, clean rooms, and a friendly and accomodating staff. Their continental breakfast is very good. They offer hard boiled eggs and french toast. A good variety of fresh fruit is available throughout the day as is ice, water, and coffee. There is an M&M dispenser when you check in and out, a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this place if you aren't traveling with small children, can climb a few stairs, and can walk several miles per day.

The room was large and clean, the breakfast buffet was excellent as was the dining area. The staff would not enter the room unless asked to service it but supplied clean towels, sheets upon request. The locaation is great - near the beginning of America's Cup Way.
