I like the location and the hotel is very clean and comfortable bed with views

Very old rundown historic hotel in need of many millions of repair. Hot water in limited supply.

Had to run the shower hot only tap for at least 10 minutes before it got lukewarm. The room was nice and clean. The door lock was very temperamental. No daily cleaning service. The front reception were not at the desk most of the time but were very helpful with carrying my suitcase upstairs. Felt safe there with very quiet surroundings.

This is very much a heritage hotel. It was clean and comfortable with alot of historical artifacts around the common areas. Would stay again.

Way way overpriced for the quality of this place. Hot water takes around 20 mins to come through, shower didn’t work, horrible plug in smellies and no hairdryer. This place is very dated

It was old like I expected but there is no one at the property all day and all night and during the day the back and front doors are open, the back door closes at 11 Pm so you have to walk around the front to get back in and no key is required for entry. With no staff on site its a bit unnerving. The room floor was slanting, the bed was slanting and there was no hot water even after running the tap for 5 minutes. THE OWNERS LIVE 30 MINUTES OUT OF TOWN and have to come check you in. They did come let us in early so we did appreciate that. When we left in the morning the wall on the other side of the hall has a large crack running the full length of the wall. It is a very old building with not much upkeep. The room had two shag area rugs. One as you walked in and one infront of the bed. Not sure what they are hiding but it makes you wonder. The Top floor is closed off as well as the restaurant and the bar.It is said to be haunted and we never encountered anything. You do get Netflix, paramount plus and cable so that is a plus. The rates are rather high for what you get, the bed was old and hard and felt like sleeping on a box spring. Lots of old stuff to look at in the lobby. If we had seen two girls at the end of the hallway, we would have been gone. We paid 124.00 which is WAY to high.

The hotel is old but has a lot of character and charm, and interesting history. It does need some renovations. The room was clean, i do recommend a recycle bin, some sort of cupboard or shelf in the bathroom, and hair dryer. The bed frame was a spring so it had some squeeks, may need to upgrade the bed in the future. The bar and resteraunt were closed which was to bad. Also the third floor was closed off and unusable. I did find it odd that there was no staff or employees, even at check out. The only time we saw someone was when we arrived. Back in its day it was probably a beautiful hotel. The biggest downfall was when you first walk you can really smell a musty old scent, which we were a bit sensative to, the good thing we could not smell it in our room.

This hotel had no hot water, no plug for bath, the room was extremely cold and horribly outdated. I felt like I should be paid to stay here. The one staff member we saw was a nice guy, the facility was dated, not in a cool vintagey way like I thought, but as in completely run down, smelled old and not taken care of.

Our room was freezing there is no hot water and I the heat is turned to a very low temperature in the entire building only was base board heating in the rooms. I a sure a summer stay would be different

It was pleasant but not overwhelmingly comfortable (bed) or private (large gap under door to our room and appeared to be thin walls). I guess I am used to certain comforts. The history of the building was interesting.

Great place for a solo traveller. It would have been quiet except for the sea lions barking all night long!

A very unique hotel in old Powell river. The walls are thin and the floors squeak but what a neet experience. We have been here twice and will come again.

This beautiful old charming hotel is located in the Townsite The staff is very accommodating The matress is the worst I have slept on ever as the matress ( spring) feels as old as the building, being creaky and terribly saggy. The coffee had pieces missing which caused a flood of drabs and coffee all over. The staff, when notified, were eager and quick to replace it

This is a historic hotel. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They gave us a lot of information about local things to do. We enjoyed our two nights stay!

Was a cool old hotel cheap price but there was not hotwater in the shower

We came to Powell River to hike and the owners were kind enough to keep some stuff of ours while we went to do the hike. Also got a nice, quick and free laundry!

It was a quiet location, but without air conditioning. However the manager was very accommodating and it was a beautiful heritage building

It is a classic heritage hotel. We have an executive suite. It is like a museum inside.

Old with old smell

The place is as expected but my room faced inwards on a roof area. Hot day, no AC, no screen on window to stop mosquitos, a small fan helped.

This is an opportunity to stay in a heritage hotel. The owners are lovingly restoring the property. Expect heritage quality. Expect funky and antiqued. The owner is extremely kind and accommodating. The area is in the heart of the heritage walk and is right by the old pulp mill. Fantastic opportunity for all photography buffs!!! I would have liked some extra blankets and the banquet hall is right next door. So, we got to hear all the wedding festivities. But, we had a portable air conditioner and that alleviated much of the sounds. I will definitely be back. Can't wait to see the future restoration of one of Canada's oldest hotels

No hot water to shower, very old building, totally unsatisfied

It’s like living in a museum. The staff are courteous and truly recognize their customers as …customers! I recommend this place.

The beds were awful, very hard. Staff were nice, but didn’t share any stories about the ghosts that haunt the hotel. No hot water.

Like the idea of the history and set up potential but not showed cased. Property needs a lot of upgrades. Blankets were dirty and bath tub had hairs and soap stuff from a bar a soap.

Broken toilet and shower. Bathroom floor filthy. No ac during heat wave though the are rooms with it. My credit card was compromised shortly after. The only irregularity with my card was booking this hotel. Puts the train through expedia and this hotel into question.

This is a very old hotel that has passed its prime. The staff are very friendly and work hard to keep it up, but it needs more care than simple maintenance. Staff were also difficult to find. Water pressure was minimal and the toilet had trouble flushing. It would be help if a map of the town with restaurants and amenities were provided. This section of town didn’t seem to have anything close by. I didn’t have an unpleasant stay, but when returning to the area, I would find an alternate location to stay.

Run down, lack of hot water, beds are terrible with valleys making it hard to share a queen size bed.

The manager was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is old, but very cool. We would definitely stay rhere again.
