Great people great breakfast, the neighborhood is beautiful pleasant walks, and very responsive. The noises can be difficult dogs,airplanes and construction

What amazing caring! An influx of people from all over Ecuador en route to the airport during this virus pandemic and the family supported everyone with calm efficiency and caring. Making meals for all as no one could leave with the curfew in place. Packing lunches for those who wanted as airlines cut food services. Shuttling groups to the airport. This was over and above regular hostel caring. Oh and the place was tranquil in the country but 10 minutes to the airport. Would I go back? Yes Definitely!

Got stranded in Ecuador because Jetblue cancelled my flight and the next day FLL closed the airport. Nice Place, Felipe and staff are very accomodating.

Wonderful family run hotel. Friendly. 10 minutes from airport. Very isolated, hard to walk to stores and restaurants. Great for late night arrival prior to early morning flight. 24 hour airport shuttle for $8.

While the location is better the price for this hotel is not worth it. The rooms are basic, not that clean and there’s no hot water.

The staff is wonderful and always willing to accommodate. Pre-arranging the airport pickup makes arriving late manageable.

Perfect quick stopover after a long (late arriving) flight. Really hospitable staff. Breakfast & brewed coffee included. Comfy beds. Beautiful views to wake up to. It's not the fanciest of places, but it is very charming and absolutely recommended.

Management and service were friendly, helpful, and wonderful. Place was charming. Bathroom floor was pretty dirty, and shower went from scalding hot to freezing cold and back again in a matter of moments- impossible to control water temperature which made for uncomfortable showering.

The hostal was nice, bed was very comfortable with plenty of blankets, the room was cold (6°), breakfast was good, coffee was weak, shower stall in Room 2 was filthy and hadn't been cleaned for many months, missing shower door so water escaped onto the floor. NO RETURN SHUTTLE TO THE AIRPORT. They wanted to charge me $8 for a shuttle back to the terminal.

When it rained things left on the floor got wet. Hotel staff were less then friendly and helpful. The person who could speak English was never available. Hotel was situated in the guide path of the airport and was very noisy. When you weren't being awakened by the approaching aircraft you were being awakened by roosters crowing.

Great and convenient hostel close to the airport. The room was nice, if not a bit noisy, and the staff were really helpful with travel plans for the next leg of our trip.

I arrived straight from the airport and had to return there in the middle of the night, but was able to get a hot meal, hot shower and very comfortable sleep for the time I had. Reception was very helpful. Arrange airport transfers through the hotel.

We arranged for the hotel to pick us up as we had a late night arrival. No problem, they were there with a sign with our names. The hotel is about 10-15 mins from the airport. The next day after breakfast, included in room price, we shared a taxi to the bus station and on to Quito. The staff speaks English. Good location for late night arrival.

Scenery was great, not much to do in area. Staff was best part of colibri. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. Carlos spoke great English and had lots of good advice for traveling in Ecuador.

A nice stay when landing in Quito, however the hostel is not the most modern and the rooms are rough and are characterized by being in the country and close to nature (means that there may be spiders). There is a pool that looked nice, but was not in function when we where there marts 2016, neither was spa. The staff is really nice and are very easy to talk to and help you on your journey forward on! That is really awesome!

I reserved a double bed room and on check in the nice young man ( minimal English) tried to put me in a bunkhouse with 8 bunk beds and no bathroom- facility's in another area next door. I said no----- and he called someone and then took me upstairs to the individual rooms. I think there were 4, 2 others were rented by several guys who had a car and came and went. You can hear EVERYTHING in all the rooms upstairs.Also the planes fly overhead are are very load. So if quiet and modern is what you want, this is not the place for you. However the 2 young men in reception were more than nice at 10 pm in helping me get on the internet and even offered his own laptop and phone to me to check in for my flight in the early am. I was tired from 2 flights so slept fine despite the noise. If you are used to travelling in S. America or Mexico and stay in small inexpensive places you will not mind. The second young man in reception (good English) arranged for my ride back to the airport in the early am. I left to early to get the included continental breakfast so cannot comment on that.

The driver had a hard time finding it. But they let me in, gave me a towel and I spent a fairly comfortable night in my small room under a nice comforter. I spent the morning photographing birds on the property (the reason I chose the Colibri). I got some good ones, but only one hummingbird, for which the hotel is named.

Stayed here twice on this trip to Ecuador. Very clean and nice place Patrick was very helpful and even fixed breakfast so we could eat before our 6 am flight. Would definitely recommend. Just remember to tell Patrick to turn on the hot water for shower. Missed it first stay got it the second and it was much nicer
