I liked the location (very close to the train) and certain aspects of the property (the communal kitchen/living room was cool), but I had two major issues. The first is that the website is misleading and does not clearly disclose that you will be sharing a bathroom; I booked a private "superior queen room" and when you look at the pictures for it, it includes a bathroom and doesn't indicate that it's shared. The second issue was the bedding. It was incredibly cheap and uncomfortable and both my partner and I woke up with neck/back pain, which never happens to us in hotels. It was because the property provided one (1!) uncomfortable, flat, small square pillow per guest, and a very thin mattress pad. Given that the cost of this room ($300) was on par with what other more traditional hotels in the area charged for private rooms, it was a bad value. It would cost all of $100 to upgrade the bedding in the room we stayed in to be comfortable and not cause physical pain. It's a shame, because I liked talking to the other guests and the location of the property, but given the combination of the misleading information about the bathroom, the most uncomfortable bedding I've ever encountered, and the lack of competitive pricing compared to private rooms in nicer facilities nearby, I can't honestly say that I'd pick this particular property again.

Facilities of this guest house are not enough. No washing machine. No restaurant. The opening hours of the reception is limited (until 18:00). Small bugs are around in the kitchen and in the bathroom.

The apartment was big and clean, and the staff at the reception were nice and friendly as well. We also had a friendly and knowledgeable driver whom fetched us safely from Abisko Guesthouse to Kiruna Airport. It would be perfect if both shower gel and shampoo were provided, same for sugar as well, though these are small matters and nothing much to complain about overall.

Give me a cosy home stay experience in such a artic environment !! Really nice staff n such a good place. Definitely recommended !

We stayed as a family here for three nights. Our main purpose was to do hikes nearby and hope to catch the Aurora. It is located within walking distance from the Abisko Ostra train station. Abisko guest house provides all the facilities of a clean room with a common kitchen and dining area. There is a grocery very close by for you to get food etc. I don't think there is any restaurant here. You can rent warm clothing sets and this is very handy if you are going to be out for a long time in cold weather. The staff are also very helpful in guiding you. If you plan to do any day time hikes, then most of these trails start from Abisko Turistation. No problem if you have a car. If you don't, it is about 3 km from the guest house. There is a nice walking path to Abisko turistation, but you have to factor this extra distance in case you are planning hikes from there. The guesthouse staff also help you in case you want to do different guided hikes, aurora tours etc. There is a paid guest laundry facility also available. We had a very enjoyable stay here. Abisko was very beautiful. We did some hiking which was gorgeous. We did a tour to Norway which was awesome!

Lousy small room

We really liked the location, closes to the National Park and the train station. Highly recommended also for the friendly staff!!

Highly disappointed, I feel I was ripped off for paying so much for this “hotel”. This was a hostel not a hotel. Shared bathroom with 3 other rooms, not comfortable at all, had to make your own bed, didn’t feel clean or safe. Hotel also cancelled our excursion 1 day before with not good reason.

The guesthouse was very cozy and offered good activities. My niece was really very happy driving the snowmobile and seeing northern light on the lake.

The location is great. It's near the train station, supermarket and walkable to the lake. The Aurora sky station is 2 km from the guesthouse. Apartment room is simple, no frill but fully equipped with kitchen, living area and 1 bedroom. There is a common area with kitchen, washing machine as well. There is a lot of activities which arrange by the guesthouse. We chose Aurora BBQ. It's lovely BBQ dinner in Sami's hut behind the guesthouse. Once we finished we chased aurora together and found it. Staffs are lovely, kind and helpful.

Location, location. Great service from staff. Clean Very spotty staff coverage/not inside office at end of season, they rely on making phone calls ( expensive if foreigner/ 80 SEK for me) but very friendly, accommodating if they were present.

The premises were pretty good for the area. Personnel was always available even by phone when needed and always there to assist. Providing great activities (tried snowmobile and totally recommend it). Best perk is that you can use for free equipment for the cold like ski uniforms, boots and gloves while staying there.

The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially when our ski mobile pickup went wrong (not through their fault at all). The kitchen was well equipped to make our own meals.

Room was not properly cleaned. Given times of Corona it felt like quite a health hazard. Common areas lacked paper and disinfection. Extremely loud guests made it impossible to sleep. Overpriced. Will not visit this place again. Very disappointed.
