We had a fantastic night away at Blackwell House a real hidden gem right on our door step. From the minute we arrived until we left the service and friendliness was 1st class. Joyce and Steve are great hosts and their staff are friendly and energetic in everything they do.

I can’t recommend this place enough. It is an absolute gem and a real getaway from the hustle and bustle of busy life. We were treated like absolute royalty. I don’t think I have experienced anywhere else that I felt so well looked after. Steve and Joyce are both very passionate and have put a huge amount of work into their boutique hotel. The rooms are stunning and so so comfortable. Nothing was missed and it is clear that there is attention to details with all the little touches. The place is very quiet and so relaxing. The food was exquisite and so well put together. I would recommend booking in for the 5 course meal it is worth it !! The grounds were beautifully kept and so well designed. Murphy was an outstanding canine host and we also got the pleasure of meeting Maggie, Molly and Oscar (friendly felines).We enjoyed our stay from start to finish and can’t wait to come back!

The breakfast was gourmet! It felt like a retreat with the beautiful flowers and garden. I would recommend the Blackwell House highly! Can't wait to stay when I go back to Ireland.

This property was "top notch". I really can't say enough about it. If you ever have an opportunity to be in that area of Ireland you owe it to yourself to stay a night or two here. You will not be sorry. Joyce runs a first class business.. I truly did not want to leave.

Very nice house and garden, delicious homemade bread and soup, breakfast is yummy, too. Strongly recommond!

Very comfortable stay. Food was excellent. When we arrived, the cat came over to the car to welcome us (a few miaows !), then the dog (Murphy) welcomed us, then the owners. Beats any hotel !

WONDERFUL!!!!! From the moment I arrived the proprietor, Joyce made me most welcome and everything about my stay was first class. I stayed in The Blue Room. Beautiful decor, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, excellent bathroom with roll-top bath and separate walk-in shower with rain-shower. Lovely amenities in the bathroom, Joyce thought of everything. The tea/coffee supplies were high quality with fresh milk, fresh ground coffee and coffee pot and some very tasty homemade shortbread. I dined both nights at Blackwell House and Joyce provides a very tasty menu with good quality produce. I especially enjoyed the Salmon and roasted vegetables and the Pear, Walnut and Blue Cheese salad. Homebaked bread was also a highlight. Breakfast - well, what a lovely spread provided and the choice of an Ulster Fry or a healthy porridge if preferred. I wish my stay had been longer than two nights! I would recommend Blackwell House very highly and sincerely hope it is not too long before I have the opportunity to return! Thank you Joyce, your establishment is akin in standard to Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons in my opinion and I think you have done a brilliant job in the top quality accommodation and services Blackwell House provide.

A very beautiful house inside and out; it feels homey but elegant. The gardens were beautiful too, with a huge chicken coop (for fresh eggs at breakfast) and a small menagerie of very friendly dog and cats.

I booked Blackwell House for a short notice business trip and it more than exceeded my expectations. Fantastic facilities, a perfect host and excellent home cooked food. Although slightly off the main roads it would be a great base for a future short holiday in Northern Ireland. Highly recommended.

Joyce was extremely hospitable & helpful. She ensured I always left in the mornings not needing to eat again till the evening. Facilities were perfectly kept and spacious.

The Blackwell House is pleasantly out of the way. Which means, once there you feel as if you are living in your own Manor Home in the country. Away from hotels and Ubers and traffic and crowds.The home is stunning, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Joyce, the owner met us at the door and gave of warm, attentive service. We did not eat dinner, because it happened to be Sunday nights, but breakfast was delicious. As we were newly engaged, Joyce upgraded our room, which included a very nice master bath with claw-foot tub. (which we used!)We stayed for just one night, but wished we could have stayed longer. Relaxing is an understatement.

Joyce had been very welcoming, excellent breakfast and very comfy room with nice on suite. Felt like one day was not enough.
