Room and Hotel were good. But there was bit of flexibility.

Small town with beautiful view. People are also nice and friendly!

The staff members are extremely nice and helpful people. The property being close to the ski piste is very convenient as well as the opportunity to rent the gears from here. On the other hand the room itself was disappointing. It felt like a time travel back to the eighties. For this money it felt for the room is well overpriced

The staff at the hotel were absolutely lovely and went out of their way to help us. However, if you want to feel like you aren’t welcome then this is the place for you. We attempted to eat dinner at the Hotel opposite this one and were told there were no tables available despite there being literally no one in the hotel. We needed up eating at the sports bar where the staff were great but the only people there were westerners. I feel like westerners are segregated in this part of Shiga. Lifts did not run whilst we were there also which was odd when most other resorts had their lifts running. I do recommend the cocktail bar with a beautiful fire and jazz being played live!

It was a great ski in and ski out hotel with wonderful staff service (helped us book a last minute sauna and dinner reservation). The dining options in the hotel are expensive and need a reservation but have some other options nearby. Very relaxing onsen. Convenient transport options to both Nagano and the local rail station. Not too busy. Great ski rental shop. Only issue: Our room had two single beds which we had to move ourself together to create a double bed since we are a couple - no room change was available.

The hotel was great. The staff was always very helpful and if they didn't know the answer to our question they went out of their way to find it.

Nice and comfortable hotel close to ski area. Food is delicious but a bit expensive. Public bath is nice too.

We stayed here for 11 days. The Hotel presents as promised. Definitely ski-in with a short 100m pole or walk to the first lift to ski-out. We selected the larger Deluxe twin share rooms for our group of four adults given the length of our stay and enjoyed the extra space of the Deluxe rooms. Breakfast options are excellent with both Western and traditional cuisine likes well catered for. We did not take up the evening meal option as we did not need the multiple courses. Single course meals were available but at later sitting times so we opted for the Sports Bar located a short walk away. Menu there comprised a selection of tapas-like items as well as more substantial rice or noodle dishes, and any pizza you like so long as it was Margherita (quite tasty). The informal atmosphere at the Sports Bar suited us and we enjoyed a couple of karaoke nights there also. We ski all day every day so have little energy left after dinner for entertainment. But the after-dinner entertainment in the guest lounge was excellent with two different jazz bands and a talented pianist performing during our stay there, as well some impromptu vocal items from the "The Singing Bartender".
Facilities are well maintained including the onsen. Games room with table tennis and pool tables was available. Small shop has gift items and a few basic toiletry and "nibbles" items (yea, potato chips). Wireless internet with good speed was available in our rooms.

Lovely ski-in/ski-out hotel. It's at the quiet end of Shiga Kogen which means the slopes are not crowded. The rooms are simple but clean and warm. Service is excellent and we had a good time chatting to the various staff at the bar. The only downside is that the hotel's dinner options are limited and expensive. Pre-booking is required and only sets are available. You're better off eating at the sports bar or the other hotel just beside the property.

We had a nice spacious room in the new wing, last along the corridor. As a result, the wifi signal couldn't reach us in the room (ok only at the door.) But thanks to the staff who looked into it for a day, offered a change of room (with wifi preview testing if needed) and finally set up a separate router for us. Thumbs up!
The room cleanliness in bathroom could be better and apparently they don't do housekeeping daily. They do change the towels though.
Beer available in one vending machine, and price was reasonable.
Nice lobby and fireplace. Wifi there was strong and stable.
Breakfast pastries were excellent; Japanese breakfast not so great. Probably because the hotel is run more like a European resort feel than a Japanese hotel.
Access to ski lift is excellent. And we got brand new 2017 Burton boards for rental.
Hotel half board meals were acceptable for the high price, not awesome. But not many options throughout Shiga Kogen area hotels so we're happy with the area that has sports bar and isakaya, and other hotel nearby with Italian and Japanese restaurants too.
