The room and facilities were alright but the bed headboard was stained and mucky. The bed side table was dirty too. Location is very good with excellent restaurants around. WIFI available and easy to set up.

Very poor breakfast and low quality coffee. Staff were helpful and friendly at reception. Room fairly comfortable but creaking bed and was 180 Euros - not cheap.

The room and generally the hotel is good. The breakfast was good for this level of Hotel the but impression was that the room charge was higher than the agreement in the application.

Very much enjoyed my stay. The staff were excellent and have a lovely view of the marina

Very comfortable and quiet. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. The decor was interesting and the interior design very individual unlike in a chain hotel. Location was good as it was near the marina which is the pleasantest part of Dunkirk. Easy to find free parking in the street immediately outside the hotel. My only criticism is that it was not easy to figure out how the bath taps worked and this meant that the water was not really hot enough when I took a bath.

A standard hotel with standard service. Excellent breakfast. Nothing is bad but nothing realy stands out either.

Great little hotel for the money. Clean, smart room and a fantastic rain shower! Rooms would benefit from AC as ours was a little warm. Big windows can be opened but the seagulls are noisy and very early risers!

Walkable location to center of town. Friendly staff. Clean and nicely done rooms and hallways.

Nice hotel, staff were very helpful and well informed,only gripe was the price of breakfast 26 euros for two.

After a small room snafu was fixed everything was very good!

Reception was very helpful. Our French is poor so they spoke good English when we checked in. They helped us with maps and questions about the town. They also gave us a room upgrade which was very comfortable and very good value for the money. Although traffic started early in the morning, the room was quiet, the bed was comfortable and we slept well.

Central location easy walking distance to Dunkirk. Rooms comfortable but breakfast a bit pricey. Give it a miss and get something in town. Great adjoining rooms for our family needs.

Nice hotel with good rooms in a good location. Be aware though that there is no air con in the 'comfort rooms' although there is in the more expensive rooms.

Excellently located in the nice part of the harbor. Great restaurants nearby; walking distance. Wonderful staff; knowledgeable about the area.

Would recommend, very clean hotel. Rooms are efficiently designed and functional. Did not try the buffet breakfast as there are many alternates available down the street.

Reception throughout my 2 day stay was superb...always friendly and willing to answer any questions...even called me this morning to make sure I did not need room service. Centrally located and provides easy access to many of the local attractions. Although no dedicated parking, it was not an issue as there were always spots available within about a 30 second walk to the front door. Area felt very safe and I enjoyed being able to walk to several restaurants, stores and museums in about 5 minutes. A quick 10 minute drive and you're at the beach enjoying the local scenery and the promenade. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let that fool you..my room was modern, cozy and even had a view of the boats docked outside..big plus was the shower; it was huge compared to other European hotels I've stayed at...It had one of those big rainshower shower heads with plenty of pressure. WIFI in the room was also excellent...streamed Netflix in the evening with no problem. My main reason for staying here this weekend was for Remembrance day...This hotel ticked all the boxes for my visit and I would stay here again if I was back in town. Thank you hotel Borel for making my long weekend enjoyable. Oh and another thing...I didn't run into one grumpy person this whole weekend; everyone here is SO friendly even though my grasp of the French language is abysmal. Quick plug for the village of Bergues..15 minutes from Dunkirk..I would recommend visiting...lots to see and do.
