Amazing views!!! The staff was so helpful and nice. It was a little scary navigating up to the villa but manageable. Definitely rent a 4x4 vehicle. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation, this is the place for you. Pura vida!

OMG the pictures don’t do it justice! Sooooo beautiful. The staff is SO accommodating. Very clean but remember you are in the middle of the jungle so there are bugs and insects. The food is delicious. You will absolutely need a 4x4 to get there. No complaints. Would def stay again

FIRST TIP: Make sure you have a 4x4 truck, the mountain incline decline is very steep. Outside of that my stay here was outstanding. I just got back from celebrating my birthday and the staff as well as the owner was very kind, very welcoming. They stayed up all night and giving us directions and leading us up the mountain until we got there and I truly appreciate that. And then on my birthday they made a cake and sing Happy Birthday it was very sweet. The cleaning staff does an amazing job keeping the rooms clean. Once we left and came back to our rooms it was spotless smelled amazing and they kept the pools clean as well. The chef did his thing every night and the food was very delicious. Thank you for showing me a great time while there. The views were fantastic.

Our stay at the golden pineapple was wonderful. My husband and I love to travel to new countries and hotels. This was by far the best place we have ever stayed. The drive up to the hotel does require a 4x4 vehicle. However, we did not view this as a negative. Nothing amazing comes easy! The views were spectacular and actually enticed to want to stay at the resort which says a lot as we typically prefer to leave each day. The food was great. And service was even better! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The previous negative reviews have unrealistic expectations or blame this property for things out of their control. I would definitely come back again and encourage anyone to stay here when visiting CR. So much to do nearby! Thank you Jessie for a wonderful experience.

This was an amazing experience. The staff were responsive, professional, and friendly. The food was delicious and the included breakfast was exceptional. We have a perfect view of whale tale beach both from the common area and our private balcony. I highly recommend!

Beautiful property. Villas are private and very well appointed. My only suggestion is to stock up on groceries so you can make your own meals if you want to. The kitchens have everything you need to do so. Amazing property and amazing staff!

The stay was fantastic, the food was fresh and delicious. The view absolutely gorgeous. The privacy of our villa was the perfect experience. The service was on point. Definitely a highlight in our trip. The only negative I can say was the drive to the villas. The roads are unpaved for about 15min. Very bumpy and steep roads. Highly dont recommend arriving there at night. Other than that, it was amazing !

This place was magical. The drive up the mountain was an adventure. Place is safe and guarded my security. The villas are beautiful and clean. It was breathtaking. The staff so nice and quick with all their services. The room was cleaned everyday and smelled so good. The restaurant was so convenient to have right next to us. We could eat at the restaurant or order our food to eat in our villa which was great on the days we were very tired from excursions. It was better than I could imagine.

I'm tired of booking hotels that look good in the pictures then turn out to be disappointing. Golden Pineapple goes the other way. It's breathtaking. Everything here is top notch.
I won't repeat everyone else, the rooms are amazing. Outdoor showers, tub and personal pool - brilliant. You can sit outside, (naked if you want!), in your own suite surrounded by jungle mountainside watching CR birds and animals around you.
I was worried about the restaurant prices being too high. They are not - in my opinion they match most other table restaurants or even lower than most other 4-5 star hotel restaurants, in my experience. And the food is excellent - a little more rich than fresh, but still quite pleasing.
This hotel is on a mountain and the road to access it is too. Don't be a hero. You're not getting up here with a 2wd car. If the rentals are all out of 4wd then you're paying for the taxi. This is the only downside of being here, the taxis are now charging $25 USD per trip from the nearby town. (Feb 2024). That adds up if you want to go out a lot. But honestly, book this hotel just to stay in the beautiful room and relax!

Very special and private place. Our villa was nicely decorated and had a nice private pool with view of the ocean. The staff was outstanding. First night we ordered room service for dinner. The breakfasts and the dinner the following night we had in the central building with a great view of the whale tale. We appreciated the quiet and very private villa while having access to a large pool and the amenities of full stacked bar and restaurant. A nice touch was the welcome sign and the artfully sliced pineapple as a welcome gift. One word of caution. This place is only reachable with a 4WD. It is impossible to climb up the hill otherwise. We highly recommend this place and will be back some time in the future.

This place is stunningly beautiful, both the hotel and the location. The owner Jessie and her staff were kind, hospitable and welcoming. The restaurant only serves the guests of the hotel, so it is small, nevertheless the food was very good. It was the highlight of our trip to CR.

I wanted to test myself to something amazing for my 50th birthday and this was it! The villa was amazing and the scenery was nothing short of breath taking. The food and drinks were excellent. Man....I loved it! You MUST have a 4x4. DO NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT!! Especially the first night!! Very steep and dark. Lesson learned. *lol*

The only issue I had was my wife and I are not home bodies. We like to get out and explore the country. This resort is located on a mountain. The resort is only 1.5 miles up the mountain from the main road where stores and restaurants are. But every time you want to go down the mountain it’s $20 one way. So that’s $40 round trip. So it can be expensive if you didn’t rent a car. This resort provides no transportation. But if you are a home body and just want the peace of nature, this won’t be a issue.

Hands down one of the best properties I’ve been to. The proof was in the attention to details on this property. From the staff to the facilities to the exceptional architecture and decor, this was truly a stay to remember. Marlin was a wonderful host.
