This was a lovely old hotel with pub and restaurant and lovely rooms

I'd happily return to this hotel. I enjoyed two nights dinner but would have liked to see plain yoghurt, smoked salmon and smoked haddock on the breakfast menu. Thank goodness the extractor fans turned off at night.

The hotel is conveniently located to explore the Welsh highlands, and the Welsh Highlands and Ffestiniog Railways. A good breakfast is served in the morning and there's a good food menu in the evening.

Nice place to be based for touring around this part of Wales. Food good and plentiful. Staff friendly and helpful. Building a bit run down but not too bad.

The architecture of this place was interesting and quaint.

Second time here and came back bcs really loved ot only thing is that now we came back just 2 of us and booked double room, everything is amazing exept bed…. first time we was in family room where all 3 beds was really comfy, when you decorate room so perfect and all looks so wonderfull invest a little bit money into bed as well…. the rest amazing like first time :)

The staff are friendly and helpful, the food and cleanliness are just okay with some areas needing attention. Our room was large and clean but had an uncomfortable bed, and while the cost is low, overall quality could be better

An attractive building and grounds in a beautiful countryside setting close to Porthmadog. Good for families overall but the food is mediocre, for example the minted lamb burger was clearly factory-made, dry and with the texture of sausage meet. Breakfast expensive but not exceptional. Some issues too with broken furniture and creaky plumbing.

Amazing power shower in room 3

Nice hotel let down by wash basin in room instead of ensuite and poor service in restaurant and the fact that could not open any of of the windows

My stay in the hotel was very good; the room was cleaned and freshened up while I was out. The lady at the bar was friendly.

What a lovely charming hotel to stay in! So welcoming and lots of interesting things to see, the outdoor space was fantastic for our kids, play park and huge trampoline, the food was great and our room was lovely. Would definitely stay here again thank you so much.

Nice place, well located for what i had planned. Room was a good size. Bed not so comfortable. But other than that i enjoyed my stay and would return.

Really lovely stay on my multi day hike on Snowdonia Way. Liked my room although the bed was squeaky.

This would have been a great stay other than for the fact the music on all night. My room was above the bar and all I could hear all night was the music. I tried to call/text the emergency numbers but had no service. So that’s why they have been marked down, fabulous comfy rooms, lovely and clean. Just no sleep.

Ideally situated for exploring the North West of Wales, hotel has friendly staff and a warm welcome, with food/drinks available. Room very clean and comfortable, would stay again.

I dont stay in hotels often but enjoyed my short stay. Food was excellent. Room was great for 1 person. Everything had been thought of and supplied in the room from drinks, tea, coffee, water etc to all manner of bathroom supplies Very impressed. I never sleep well away from home but rested pretty well. No noise at all from the large pub area below, very peaceful. Would definitely stay again

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for two nights and it was a gorgeous room. Really cosy and a big bed with comfy bedding. The restaurant downstairs was homely and all the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The view from the room was stunning and the road outside is quiet. Would love to stay here again!

Myself and husband stayed here whilst away celebrating our wedding anniversary. We visited Portmerion nearby and this hotel was situated not far from there. Staff were very friendly throughout our stay. On our arrival they showed us to our room. The room was huge,as was the en-suite. The room was very clean had all we needed for our stay. We chose to dine at the hotel and we were not disappointed! We both had steak for main and agreed it was possibly the best steak we had ever eaten and was it cooked to perfection. Breakfast in the morning did not disappoint either. Located in Snowdonia the surrounding scenery was just stunning. I would happily return to the hotel and would recommend as a place to stay for friends and family visiting the area. Thank you for a truly lovely stay.

Nice old hotel, a little dated but clean and food was good, was woken up in the early hours by the sound of shattering glass as if the window had been broken but nothing was amiss which was a little creepy

Fantastic experience. Beautiful location, big, clean, and comfortable room/bed. Service was also very friendly and warming. Overall, a solid 10/10

A super overnight stay at Oakeley Arms. The staff were friendly and engaging. The food was plentiful and nourishing for a chap who'd walked 15 miles over the mountains get there. The room was closer to the main road, quiet in the evening but did get a little noisier from 6. Breakfast was excellent too. Great to hear so much Welsh in the bar. Diolch yn Fawr iawn!

For £70 it was really good value for money. Staff were lovely. The room was big. It’s a little out of date. The water system broke in the morning, but was up and running quickly. I am going to stay again

No disabled access. Unable to use the tiny, enclosed, shower because there were no grab rails, either in the stall or in the bathroom itself. No lift. No ground floor rooms. Also, the electrics in my room failed - twice.

Room was large and clean; staff were great; food was what you’d expect for pub fare; the downside was the smell in the bedroom - it was above the kitchen and smelled of cooked food.

Our room was lovely, it had everything we needed for our short stay. The surroundings were beautiful. We both felt the hotel was in need of a facelift in terms of the rather outdated decor. Sadly the breakfast was a little bit of a disappointment, we chose to get a refund which the staff did with no issues. The staff themselves were all pleasant and friendly, and were very helpful to us with advice on local places of interest. The decor and sky sports everywhere was a shame.

We had a fantastic stay! The staff was excellent, friendly and attentive. David, the outstanding young man we worked with the most, made our stay memorable with his positive attitude, good humor and welcoming demeanor. The meals served at the on-site pub had great food and a friendly caring staff. The rooms were quiet, spacious and comfortable. We could not have made a better choice than the Oakley Arms for our stay during our extended trip!

The check in was very easy and the room was very nice. The only issue is that it was very hot and no fans were available.

Provided your expectations are not high and take the place for what it is, it is fine for an overnight stop.
