This hotel had a nice feel to it. I picked it because of the beautiful, old, unique building. Due to the age of the building it wasn't soundproof. The only real downside is the lack of parking. You have to find your own on the street; either 2-Hour or metered parking. Although it was free from 8PM - 8AM, it caused a little sress. There is an option for Valet parking ($42?) which meant you could park right in front. Looked like there were three spaces.
I appreciated the breakfast. Wonderful made-to-order coffee machine, yogurt and jam in glass jars.

Nice boutique hotel in a quiet neighborhood. Near grocery store and restaurants.

Great hotel close to UCLA in the really nice Westwood Village neighborhood

Room toilet and sink were in two different areas.

Very pleasant people at front desk. Room was clean but extremely small. Room cleaners could pay more attention to details like having enough wash cloths and soap in shower dispenser. Breakfast good but often short on food by 8:30. Love the quaintness and boutique feel of the hotel. Plan on staying here again.

Was a bit uncomfortable for me because there was no desk and the lighting was really dim. There were 2 small thin wood chairs that weren't very comfortable and no table or desk to work. No place to put my laptop. And there was no counter space at the bathroom sink nor shelves. I had to put my toiletries on the open weave bench at the bottom of the bed. The refrigerator had no room for personal use as it was filled with items to buy. There was a buffet table that was also filled with magazines, papers, water bottles for sale, and a phone - but no room to put even a notebook or purse.

Adorable hotel and room. Loved the 1930s feel but oh so upgraded. Shower was fantastic. Bed very comfortable. My only complaint was the room was a little damp and needed a dehumidifier. Garden outback is lovely and great for a glass of wine or a good book. Super convenient to the UCLA campus

Perfect solo traveler hotel. Small intimate and great service. No bar or restaurant but plenty within the area. I’ll go again

I liked the garden. I did not like the complete lack of ADA accommodations. No ramps. No elevator. Awful.

Service was bad. Rooms are tinny. Breakfast was mediocre. They charged us for the mini bar although we never used it. still didn't get the refund back. impossible to reach them over the phone.

Almost like staying at the boutique, mini-version of the Beverly Hills Hotel in terms of style. Quaint and polished, in a deco building with a modern twist on the era. This Palihotel had no bar or restaurant, nor elevator. Almost felt like a B&B experience. Will definitely stay again as long as I don’t require dining facilities.

Amazing boutique hotel

The staff was amazing, the room was great and the room had a lot of space. The only thing I didn't like was that they don't have parking. But that is common in La Angeles.

old style facility, with cute design, nice staff, but very small rooms, strangely designed with sink and bathroom far apart. No tissues provided in the room. Breakfast included was not good, fruit was inedible, the croissant was prepackaged and tasteless. All of this made the whole stay way over priced. The only good thing was the convenient location to UCLA. Be aware there is no elevator for 3rd floor guests.

This was a fine boutique hotel, the room was cute but the customer service was awful. The evening prior to check out, I was told that overnight valet parking was $15. The next morning I went to check out and to get my car from the valet in the morning around 6am. The valet person was nowhere to be found. The front desk said he did not have a cell phone and he had no way to contact him. I asked him to call the hotel manager and he told me that he did not have a phone number for the hotel manager. What kind of hotel doesn't have a number for their manager? I asked the front desk to print my invoice, but he was unable to do so because their system was down. He told me he emailed me the invoice but I did not receive anything in my email. Apparently the valet runs from 6am - 10pm, so theoretically the valet guy should have been there to give me my car, but he was running late?? I was however not even told that there were hours for the valet. No one communicated that to me at all. Then on my invoice, I was charged $42 for parking, when the guy told me it was $15. After about 30 minutes of waiting around, the front desk guy absolutely helpless saying there was nothing he could do to help, the valet guy shows up and brings me my car. The hotel manager showed up shortly before that. The cherry on top of this entire frustrating experience was that the hotel manager has been extremely rude to me about the entire situation!!!

One of the only hotels I’ve ever seen without a desk in the room. The listing said free gym usage but they simply pointed me to a gym several blocks away where I could pay $25 for a day pass. They couldn’t fit my SUV in their valet garage so I had to park on the street, which was a pain. Glad I didn’t get a ticket or broken into. No elevator or assistance with luggage.

Loved the vibe of the hotel. Cool decor and beautiful outdoor space to sit in— side garden and front entry. Spacious condo room for our family of 4. I would come back!

Email communication prior to check in was often promptly replied to.
We arrived past midnight but there was someone at the front desk and check in was fast.
The room itself (double queen) was very stylish and comfortable. The toiletries are from Diptique and the fridge is a Smeg. Everything is very pretty and well designed.
We were on the ground/first floor and could hear the guests upstairs walking around. Walls are a bit flimsy as we could hear conversations in the rooms as we walked by.
Breakfast is very simple - coffee/tea, yoghurt, croissant/bagel. Surprisingly not very environmentally friendly - single use cups, and spoons only.
Target, CVS and Trader Joes within a 10 min walk, and many restaurants within a 20 min walk.
Beware - unlike hotels in Asia, nothing is complimentary.

Hotel is so cute, really takes you back in time, with the most beautiful finishes, and a very peaceful Parisian vibe. Definitely loved it. Also appreciate the close proximity to UCLA, easy to walk to, and to all the great food spots nearby.

What a charming hotel! My teen granddaughter and I stayed here two nights, and we both loved it. I loved the design. When entering, you feel you are someplace unpretentious, special, fun, and clever. There’s a lovely little kitchen facing the check-in desk where they serve breakfast. I loved that there’s no bar, such a tiresome cliche. There are some couches and nooks, and you feel that you could hang out or work there, like a home away from home. The colors and design are happy and updated genuine vintage—such an awesome bathroom! Such beautiful big windows in the rooms that actually opened. Comfortable beds that felt like part couch part bed because of the enveloping headboards. While staying here, I researched this small chain and looked at their other hotels. I hope to stay with Palihotels again!!!
