This is a good hotel, great service from hotel desk in general. Friendly service at the hotel restaurant and bar. The room cleaning was very good and thorough. Location was fine and pretty close to most sightseeing sites. The room nice, and installations high quality. The bellboys were really friendly and showed high customer care - excellent service! All in all a nice hotel in Chicago!

Great hotel. I enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant. The room was comfortable. I loved having coffee in the room in the morning. I came for the AIDS walk and the hotel’s location was perfect.

Very good experience at this hotel. Excellent location, attentive and friendly staff, room was clean. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable.
Only complaint was the bathroom - very little counter space (or anywhere to store toiletries) and the sliding barn door did little for privacy.
Otherwise, very happy with our stay and would stay here again.

Very clean and comfortable room. Elevators are a little slow and on the small side. I was given a $16 coupon for a meal in the restaurant that opens from the hotel’s lobby. It was raining hard the second day of my stay and the front desk was happy to lend me one of their umbrellas. Also, as I had food poisoning the night before departure, I asked if my checkout time could be moved later. They gave me an extra hour. Only thing that could have been better is if the shower head wouldn’t start leaking water what seemed like once an hour while I was trying to sleep.

The hotel is well-maintained and provides tremendous service before check-in with luggage service and an early check-in not to mention complimentary water provided always.
The room was clean and came with a fridge to keep drinks cool. The closet had a decent amount of space for a weekend trip. The bathroom was clean and equipped with M&G products.
The fitness center is clean and has amenities such as water and lavender-infused cooled towels. The only complaint was the noise from Michigan Ave, mainly at night, making it difficult to remain asleep.

During my recent stay at Le Méridien Essex, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by Nikali and Saira, two outstanding front desk employees. Their warm smiles and genuine friendliness immediately made me feel welcome upon arrival.
Both ladies consistently demonstrated genuine warmth and friendliness, making me feel welcome and at ease throughout my stay. Their courteous nature and eagerness to assist were evident in every interaction, from check-in to check-out; Nikali and Saira went above and beyond to ensure my experience was nothing short of exceptional.

We stayed here because it was so close to Soldier Field where we were seeing a concert. It's also in easy walking distance to many museums, restaurants and shopping. We had great service from all of the staff and the room was comfortable. Our only complaint was that we paid a little extra for a "city view" but our room was on the 3rd floor and all we could see was the hotel across 8th street.

Grant Park Bistro service was extremely slow. I would have to wave down bartender to get service, even when I had an empty glass - while sitting at bar.

Excellent location and facilities. The manager Jesus was very polite and helped me when my glasses were broken and me being out of town had no spare pair.
The bar staff, including Miguel, were very attentive.
The in-house restaurant had great food and reasonable prices.
The rooms have been updated with a beautiful bathroom and provided shampoo, etc.

Nice hotel, very comfortable. Love the location. Unfotunatley, Down town Chicago is a very noisy city, must be a high crime area, lots of policy cars siren going off at night, hard to sleep peacefully.

Check in was quick but we were not given the room we booked and hotel was at capacity so we could not be moved. Disappointed in that sense, but the hotel is great otherwise.
