The location of the hotel is good and the room was clean and spacious. The furniture was basic and limited but adequate for a short break only. The bathroom had a bad damp smell and the ceiling was mouldy. We reported this to the manager who said she would inform the manager on duty when we checked out. Clearly that manager knew nothing and was unconcerned. The staff generally were overworked and this impacted on the quality of service. We were told there would be breakfast available but when we went down in the morning there was no one serving, only the cleaner. Thankfully there is a very good resaurant a few doors down serving breakfasts, lunch and dinner but is only small so you need to book. We wouldn't stay here again.

This is a fantastic location overlooking the beach and inlet and our room offered wonderful views. The building has been an inn since 1729 and has lots of character. Rooms have recently been done up and are very comfortable. There’s sn excellent range of breakfast options to choose from for a reasonable price. A great place to stay!

This is the 4th year we have been to aberdovey and the second time we have stopped at dovey inn and its the best little place to stop with your family just gutted i couldnt stop longer

We booked Dovey Inn for an amazing price for a family room (in July!!) for myself and my friends, while attending an event during a short holiday. I didn't realise we would get a sea view with the room - it was exceptional! Check in was quick and the staff were wonderful. Our accommodation was spacious and clean, with two bedrooms so we each had our own space. Both rooms had connecting doors to the bathroom, which was useful so not to disturb eachother during the night. We had pretty much everything we needed for our stay, and with it being above a pub, we had access to breakfast, lunch and dinner options at will. There wasn't breakfast with the room price unfortunately, but gave us the option anyway. The food was really good when we ate there. The only niggles we had were the sticky doors for the secondary room - the doors to the bathroom and main room often got stuck and took force to open. Also, the locks on the bathroom doors didn't work. You could easily unlock them by just using the handles as normal. While the room was fairly modern, there was some aesthetic wear to skirtings and a superficial crack in the bathroom sink. It was great to have air con, but sometimes it would loudly hum at random, often every 30 seconds, sometimes not. Irritating the first night, but we got used to it. Also, beware of Thursday Quiz night if you're on the first floor. It's loud and reverberates through the floor. All in all, Aberdovey was gorgeous! Amazing beach, too!

Fantastic room at the front of the hotel with a great bathroom. Good sized shower and fantastic free standing bath. Well decorated bar and restaurant with friendly staff but sadly let down by terrible food in the evening. Took breakfast next door in the cafe as did not want to eat there again.

A very modern fully equipped room albeit without any draws for underwear and folded clothes. The restaurant and bar facilities were very wore but the hospitality was very good.

Great little hotel with heaps of charm, overlooking the sea. The family room was excellent with 2 bedrooms. Lovely decor and renovated bathroom. Lovely windows with nice view. Good value for money breakfast in the morning which was made to order.

Really enjoyed our stay; comfortable and clean room with sea views, good food, free parking (out of season) and most of all, the friendly and helpful staff - in particular, Dave. Nothing was too much trouble! He deserves a medal! We hope to return!

The only bad part was that we had to leave . An absolute amazing stay. Very friendly and accommodating staff, great food , quiet during night, very clean room that was tide up every day. We even had cookies, coffee and tea replenished every day in our room. By far one of the best stay we’ve had . Highly recommended

Generally nice and comfortable, no real issues appart from wall paper in the bathroom is peeling off the wall.

Value for money stay and so much more at the Dovey right on the harbour front you are very much connected to the sea with dramatic mountain back drop when weather allows you to enjoy the views. Great atmosphere created by friendly staff team and "locals" who enjoy the great beers available. Food is great good menu Will return personally to enjoy Aberdovey again.

My wife and i only stayed for 2 nights we really enjoyed it, the town was lovely and the Dovey inn was brilliant loads of room and the views was brilliant.

A tiny bit scruffy but very hospitable and comfortable, location splendid, view from room superb, wholesome breakfast and an excellent touring base. My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much.

A lovely large, clean room with a sea view. A very comfy bed, plenty of sockets by the bed and around the room and a decent sized TV. A great shower with plenty of hot water. We didn't have breakfast at the Inn but we did eat our evening meal there a few times. We always booked a table as it did look busy. The food was the usual pub grub and was hot and tasty. We would definitely stay here again.

Just a lovely place room was really nice over looking the sea. The only problem was that they couldn’t get the ovens mended but it was out of their hands. So it was a limited menu but the meals we had were really nice. Good choice on breakfasts as well. The only thing is I think it would be really nice is to have some throw away paper place mats to place on the tables as sometimes a table gets a bit sticky.

We are returning customers. We are never disappointed staying at the dovey inn. Staff are great, food is awesome and the rooms are clean and extremely comfortable. We sleep better at the dovey than we do at home.
