This place is fabulous. It’s charm married with style. The rooms are spacious. Nice kitchenette. Linens are nice, though larger towels would be nice.

I loved my stay at the Davidson! It is a beautiful, historic St. Paul property that was clearly restored with deep care. The building itself is quiet. My room had a great view of St. Paul, and the ample windows provided lovely morning sunlight.
I will absolutely return on my next stay in the Twin Cities!

The property is well-maintained, and the area is beautiful. However, the mattress was very uncomfortable. When we did have a room concern which would’ve been easily rectified, we called the number we were directed to call, and no one ever called back. I tried twice. Both of these concerns are consistent with concerns From past reviews. There are clearly some issues with property management.

Charming place with so much character! Loved the art and the history! We stayed on the 3rd floor, where it was peaceful and quiet. It was a great way to celebrate my husband’s birthday! Cozy and relaxed on a rainy fall day.

Stayed for a weekend getaway. The Summit Ave neighborhood is wonderful to walk around. The back yard has a wonderful view of the Mississippi river valley. Although, the grounds could use some attending to.
The two-room suite was very spacious and there seemed to be hidden treasures all over the suite.
Looking forward to staying here again in the future cause it felt like walking in the past.

That said, we wondered why the area behind the home, which rooms overlook, was so unkempt. With little effort this could be remedied.

Inside was beautiful and clean. The outside could use a little bit of maintenance around the property. The neighborhood is beautiful and is in walking distance of a ton of restaurants and activities.

On the second day, my husband and I were napping half dressed in the bed when another couple entered our code into the keypad on the room door and walked in on us. (They'd been emailed the same room/code.) Waking up to strangers at the foot of your bed is scary and awful. We never heard from management with any sort of explanation or apology.
Indeed, you can't actually contact the hotel. We were locked out of the building our first night when we arrived. We called the phone number repeatedly — it's a call service — and emailed, but hours passed with no response. We finally managed to get in on our own.
Pretty appalling experience especially for the high price.

Beautiful mansion with scenic views of valley. Nicest place I’ve ever stayed. We were in ste. 302 which was spacious and well appointed. We stayed there on our wedding night and it was absolutely perfect for us ( we like history and old homes).

Beautiful scenery all the old mansions when you first walk in it smells a little old but not a lot, I'm in room 204 no cold water for the sink in the bathroom and the cabinet hinges is off.

The Davidson property located on Summit Ave is one of many elegant, stately homes a short distance from St Paul's Cathedral. We were very pleased with our spacious suite, the amenities and the neighborhood! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom with separate whirlpool tub and spacious shower were perfect for my husband and I. The closet included a plug in tower fan we greatly appreciated for helping to circulate the air cooled by the Daikin wall air conditioner.
It would be helpful to know in advance that parking is on the street, and to enter from
the side. The exterior of the property in back has yet to be renovated. It is sure to be beautiful once completed. We highly recommend this hotel!

Love, love, LOVED our stay at The Davidson. Such a spectacular place inside. Bummer our flight was so delayed that we only had a few hours to put our heads on our pillows. I hope we get to come back and stay a while. Can’t wait to see how the outside transforms in the future. So much potential. Thank you for having us.

This is a unique hotel with great views of the city on a cool street lined with historical homes.

We loved the Victorian area. We loved the home and thought that it’s renovation into a boutique hotel was done well. There was some water damage here and there and broken windows that had been taped and possibly just in the middle of its final repair. The outdoor space Needed some TLC. However, overall, it was a very good experience and we will be back.

We’ve stayed here on multiple occasions. The hotel is remarkably affordable for the amount of space the rooms allow. The facility is beautiful, as it’s in an historic building.

Not so good. Door code did not allow us to enter, and there was no one there to help us. Another guest had to get us in. The door code worked later. Active moisture in the corner. Rooms were big and clean.
