What an amazing experience... Friendly staff anytime of day or night.. felt completely safe and the food is incredible. My kids absolutely loved the experience we will definitely be back.

Comfortable, tasteful room. Nice courtyard with a lounge area. Close to the riverside path and restaurants. Running, food. Stellenbosch is a beautiful town, close to great hikes. We had a wonderful stay.

Brand new hotel with excellent service and cleanliness.

This is a great location to stay with easy walk to Stellenbosch. The rooms are superb, beautifully furnished with a sumptuous bathroom. The breakfast is served in a beautiful restaurant by the river next door and the service and food were excellent.

We stayed in Southern Sun de Wagen in March 22 and came back to this property for a reason. Its excellent. Thank you to Mellissa for warm welcome. This time we stayed in Luxury room which was situated outside of the courtyard as all the courtyard rooms were booked at the time i was making the booking. I have to say go for the courtyard room if you planning to stay. Luxury room is same as the others but you pay extra €40-€50 per night for having small fireplace in the room and a bath as well as shower. The fireplace is useless if you travelling in the summer time. Bath not worth the price..The restaurant, breakfast and dinners are fabulous and in beautiful setting. A special THANK YOU to waiting staff. Every single person who served us was magnificent! The only observation is they must work some crazy hours. Same person who served us till 11PM and cleaning after was there for 7AM breakfast serving

Very convenient access to centre of Stellenbosch. Pleasing environment. Three deficiencies in the room were identified to staff for attention.

A fantastic place! Quite, small and cosy. Well situated just a couple of minutes away walking to city. Our son was in a wheelchair without any problems.

Great small hotel in Stellenbosch, slightly out of main centre but in easy walking distance to everything. Very comfortable modern new rooms and great on-site restaurant.

Let me start with this, the room was immaculate. Charming, clean and with all the essentials.The breakfast was very nice with lovely staff as well!! The A/C went out on a 38 degree day (100 Fahrenheit). After a few calls, the nice man at the front desk arranged to fix it. Maintenance came to our room while we were away as planned, but to our surprise, didn’t actually fix the air conditioning so we were slept very hot uncomfortably, waking many times. There was also a dead rat stench in the bathroom wall that grew to be worse over the course of our two night stay (likely due to the heat). Though things happen, I communicated politely and discreetly with the staff and all seemed to fall on deaf ears. No offer to make things right which is substandard for such a highly rated hotel. I simply got a generic, oh, thank you for letting us know, we’ll make note of that. I would have expected some means of compensation or even a bottle of wine. But nothing. Strange.No help with getting our bags to our room upon arrival/checkin either which was rather strange.

The property was beautifully put together and a lovely glimpse into the history of Stellenbosch. Amazing breakfast at De Volkskombuis, close to Dorp Street, great restaurants and coffeeshops.

I loved this place. It’s new. Very cozy. The room was spotless. Crisp clean white sheets. Lovely bathroom and thick fluffy white towels and gowns. Would highly recommend!!

We spent a day touring vineyards and found a beautiful, comfortable stay at Southern Sun de Wagen. Staff was very helpful, and the room was clean, modern and very comfortable. Breakfast at the nearby restaurant was fantastic!

Beautiful boutique property, only just recently opened! The staff were great and upgraded us to a larger room - loved the free-standing bathtub! Complimentary breakfast served at a stylish restaurant next door with open fireplaces! Highly recommend!

The friendly and professional staff, an absolutely stunning room and the restaurant with its captivating atmosphere, definitely made this one of my most memorable stays. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quick getaway or a break from day-to-day life!

Everything was great. The staff and the accommodation was of a high standard. We will go back there when in the area.
