Lovely clean and beautifully located property, walking distance to town in 5 minutes and well located for walks around castleton and visits to the blue John attractions .

I think a washing machine and tumble dryer would have made the property even better than it was

The house was perfect. Stylish and contemporary yet in keeping with the age and period of the property. The hot tub was amazing and the views stunning. The prosecco and coffee on arrival were a lovely touch.

The location was perfect, only a 5 min walk to everything, views amazing. Property was perfect. Everything we needed. Muse had been very helpful and very kind.

Location, decoration, comfort

Hard to find a fault but a washing machine would be useful, especially for family stays. Also the postcode does not direct you to the exact property and didn’t correspond exactly to the written directions.

The beds were very comfortable, property was great, we loved the hot tub after each long day of walking.

No oil in the kitchen for cooking, need a wooden spoon in the utensil draw. haha - that’s about it for what we didn’t like!

It maintains its historic roots with thick stone walls and lots of original features, together with high end modern fixtures and fittings. The views from inside and outside are just stunning. The kitchen/dining room is enormous, well equipped and a lovely space to just be in, as is the living room. The beds and bedding are on a par with the best five star hotels and so comfortable that we have ordered the bedding for home. The gardens are beautiful, very well kept and we got lucky with the fruit and veg during our stay. Best Globe Artichokes we have ever had and I spent a happy afternoon picking fruits for Hedgerow Jelly from the garden and the lane outside. The hot tub and fire pit were a highlight and used every evening. Great wifi throughout the house. There is a farm next door which does an honesty box for delicious chicken and duck eggs. This house is perfectly located to explore this wonderful part of the country and a perfect spot to just hang out, with enough good local shops, pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance, or a few minutes drive to Hope for a decent Spar, a lovely deli and more restaurants and pubs. We had a wonderful dinner delivered by the Curry Cabin in Hope. Delivery service is cash only. If you want a supermarket shop then head for Aldi or Morrisons, both very good, but what makes it is the journey up Winnet’s Pass and along the High Peaks; stunning scenery all the way there and back. Follow the directions you get sent by Muse Escapes! All of our apps told us we had arrived and our destination was on the left when we got the The Rambler’s Rest. Just keep going and even if it looks as if the road ends with a metal farm gate in front of you, just keep going. You are less than 1 minute away by car from The Rambler’s Rest.

Wow what a place - amazing location, house was stunning and like an interior designer had kitted it out with cool lights, decor, colours and little touches of old and new throughout. Mega comfortable beds, great for kids, the hot tub over looking he peaks and the outdoor bar was just spectacular. even an outdoor veggie area you could pick fruit and veg. The welcome freebies, outside garden and kids playhouse was fantastic and felt safe leaving the kids to run around. there was 4 of us and quite big , I think up to 8 would be comfortable.

nothing really , if I had to be exceptionally picky the parking is a little tight for big 4x4’s
