Great location in the middle of the village.

Woken by smoke alarms at 7am on first morning. Electrical fire. Had to call fire service. Utterly ruined weekend. Caretaker helpful Sykes Cottages and owner much less so. Warm words from them both and then silence. There is far too little space here for me to set out detailed timeline of the disaster that was Sykes customer service. They turned a relatively shortlived and distressing emergency (fire, evacuation, emergency heating) into a protracted, frustrating nightmare through their unhelpful and labyrinthine customer service. Over a month later and I'm still waiting to receive the promised refund.

Reeth is a great place.

A little off putting when arrived to find No 2 quite cold and a burnt out radiator propped up in the lounge. Caretaker implemented action with 2 portable heaters. Items left in dishwasher from previous persons. Heated towel rail in bathroom did not work, with no identifiable switch to turn it on/off. Quite off putting again to find used plaster on the main bedroom floor. Left hand lower sash window in the lounge was very difficult to close/fasten to shut out the outside traffic noise.

Very Comfy bed. Good kitchen facilities and nice lounge area.

Lounge and bedroom light fittings were very strange and too low. My husband banged his head on the lounge one. Could use some clothes hanging facilities.

Property was lovely, clean and warm. Good internet, TV's facilities and basically everything you needed in a great little village. The village is a remote but very popular. With some breath taking scenery and so many good walks, rides all around.

Lack of instructions for facilities not understand, no terrestrial channels on.tv . Caretaker needed to come and try retune with no success assumed it had not been tuned in to aerial
