Nice hotel with easy access to highway. It was clean, quiet and the staff were all very pleasant throughout the stay. Would recommend.

While booking Expedia said free breakfast at this hotel. However, hotel noted breakfast was not free. Breakfast was $9.99 per person. This is not good as we chose a hotel with complementary breakfast from Expedia. Hotel notes the do not accept anything from 3rd party vendors and that Expedia has not updated their website states NO complimentary breakfast.

Pros: The rooms were so clean & you could tell that they had been freshly remodeled & well-kept. The beds were so comfy and showers were hot! Cons: smell of smoke and/or weed always in the lobby due to people smoking out front.

The bathroom door would not shut and latch.

The room was very nice, with a nicely appointed kitchenette. This was our first stay at a Candlewood Suites, and was surprised this morning to discover breakfast was not included. The attendant was very polite and apologetic for the $9.95 fee. It was the same layout other hotels (pre-prepared) which is included in price of room. Still, it was a very comfortable room.

The motel was very nice, but the front desk was VERY unfriendly, checking in and checking out.

I loved the updated trendy and modern decor and atmosphere. Rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and clean. Lobby and restaurant area has a nice vibe. Great value for the price!

The room was spacious and clean. It’s great to have a bar on site. No need to go out to eat. Very convenient.

I wanted to stay here, because my family had a reunion there in 1982 when I was only 12 years old; and I haven't been there since. A reutrn to Roanoke was a unique experience. Awesome!!!

The hotel is descent although we were confused because we didn’t realize The Candlewood Suites and Holiday Inn were connected… All the signs indicated Holiday Inn! The room we were placed in was nice and clean but unfortunately we later learned it didn’t have a cable box or internet capabilities so we couldn’t watch TV or stream shows on our iPads. The hostess from the front desk did come to our room to try to help us but it wasn’t anything she could do because both (internet and cable boxes) had apparently been stolen out of the room.; something she indicated happens quite often there. They couldn’t move us to another room because they were sold out due to “bus loads” of children coming to check in around midnight. Well we definitely knew when they arrived because around 1am, we were awakened by running, yelling and laughing up and down the hallway for about an hour straight. The next day they moved us to another room which was right by an elevator and apparently right next door to someone with a dog. So, every time someone would walk to the elevator talking, the dog would bark hysterically. We called to ask to be moved again and was told they would get back to us but didn’t. So, needless to say we did not get good night’s sleep!

Room very clean, upgraded, neat.

We reserved a king bed but they gave us a double bed room. When we asked they said they didn’t have any more. The family beside us had a king bed and reserved a double bed room. We were given free breakfast tickets. Breakfast was…..ok.

This revised review we had a wonderful checkin on Saturday, the 28th the young African American man was friendly, and courteous. The room was beautiful clean and more than what I expected. We usually stay at the Marriott courtyard up the street on friend and family discount. But change and got room at the Candlewood. We no longer will stat at Marriott. But, Sunday when we checked out at 6:15am the front desk person bald man was not friendly he didn't even speak at all. Gwendolyn

At first I was a little confused about the location. However, after determining that this hotel is also in a building with Holiday Inn, all was well. The check in process was easy. The front desk staff were pleasant. You can tell that this property has been around for a while. However, it appears it has recently undergone renovation. The room was great. We had a king suite that was a great size. It offered a kitchenette and sitting chair with a lap desk. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was great. I don’t have anything negative to say.

The hotel seemed new and updated at first glance but upon getting to our room we were disappointed to find the bathroom door would not close. In the morning, we also discovered there was no hot water and were unable to shower before needing to depart. The hotel listing also advertised free breakfast. We showed up to the area and we’re told it was $9.99 cost per person. Upon questioning the front desk, we were given two vouchers for the breakfast but every food option was empty. We expressed these issues without so much of an apology offered.

It was a nice hotel and we were happy. But the bar and food did not open when they said they would so we had to go elsewhere to eat and have a drink. We were able to get a bottle of wine to bring back so did not need the bar on our return but we did see they finally opened. The breakfast was there and had items but everything was cold and we were there right before 8:00am. And we were asked for a tip for get your own.

Staff was great! Nice hotel in a great location

The reservation we made weeks in advance was for two queen beds but the only room they had available was one king bed. Since the room didn’t have a pull-out couch, three of us had to share the king bed so we were uncomfortable and barely slept. No shampoo was provided and the conditioner had already been used - yuck. This definitely wasn’t worth $208.

This was a quick overnight stay as we were traveling and needed something last minute. The hotel was very affordable priced and was pleasantly surprised with the updated hotel accommodations. The check in went smooth, had a very nice young man check us in. Upon leaving the hotel and getting to our final destination, I realized I forgot my iPad in the room. I immediately called the hotel. Not only did they locate my iPad, they kept it secure and sent the device to me within a couple of days. John - a manager was very helpful in locating and sending it to me! We will definitely return on our next trip and stop.

The hotel was clean and in a good location, it was also nice having a kitchenette with a full size fridge. Unfortunately, those were the only positives. At one point my wife and I came back to the room to find that our keys no longer worked.

It was ok we stayed Thursday through Saturday and house keeping never came by the 2nd day to ask if we needed anything or to empty trash cans etc. We almost ran out of toilet paper

Coffee pot did not work and they told me it would tak an hour toget to it

Expected a much better maintained property. Was assigned a room that was dirty, noisy and the ac didn’t work. Complained, got another room. Better but still below expectations.

My stay was great! Clean rooms!

The hotel was dirty with unfinished work throughout , not able to watch television the first night , no remotes or batteries available , open hole above mirror in the bathroom , nothing like what was advertised , never been misled like this before , this is the first time I’ve ever written a review , terrible at best !!!!!!

It was a very nice clean hotel, even better then i had thought it woould be. Room selection was amazing. King suite and the price was very reasonable as well.

Room I booked was not available when I checked in, was offered a discount but because I booked through hotels.com I was not able to get it
