Sophie is great and very welcoming! The description of everything was very accurate so we knew what to expect.
Quiet area and close to major towns.

Ellison Bay is a very rural area and, at least when we were there in early June, not crowded. Sophie's place was conveniently located near a nice coffee shop and a few restaurants. Sophie lives nearby and is accessible via cell phone. She checked in several times with us to see if we needed anything. The house was comfortable.

We love staying in this perfectly-situated cottage in Ellison Bay. I'm not sure, but I think this might be our 9th time staying there. We love the northern part of Door County, and Ellison Bay in particular. And communication with Sophie is always easy and very cordial and pleasant. AND she allows our dog to stay! VERY grateful for this! Thank you!

We love this cottage. We love its location and cleanliness, and we are always so grateful that Sophie continues to allow our well-behaved dog to come and stay. We had a wonderful week in the early fall weather, taking walks, going to the beach, watching sunsets, reading, napping, eating.... Perfect. Thank you!

If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing cottage in Door County, then this is the place for you. It’s the perfect size for a small group or a couple, it was very clean, it is super cute, the wrap around porch was the perfect place to enjoy our morning coffee, and there were hummingbirds right outside the front window. We also found fresh flowers on the table and a very delicious cherry tart when we arrived, what a nice surprise! Sophie is a great communicator and got back to us quickly when answering questions or just checking in to see how our stay was going. My husband and I can’t wait to go back. This was our first time staying in quiet Ellison Bay and it did not disappoint.

Such a great Door County getaway spot! Easy 5 minute walk to great sunset views, coffee houses, tavern, restaurants, cider house and more! We had daytime temps in the low 80s in July, and the A/C kept the whole house comfortable. Easy drive to Sister Bay. Loved it!

I love the northern Door and Ellison Bay in particular. This home’s location is perfect for us. Walkable to the waterfront and several shops/restaurants. Biking in the area is wonderful. We enjoy the wraparound porch. The owners are kind and communicative. Thanks for having us!

We're now regulars to this Ellison Bay cottage and this was a great visit. We love the location and the cottage itself and communication with Sophie is always clear and friendly. We are so grateful that they continue to let us bring our well-behaved dog. We have a wonderful time taking walks, playing on the beach, and relaxing there. Thank you!

First time VRBO for us and our dog. The home was clean, fully equipped for our needs, the bed was comfortable and the covered, wrap around porch was so peaceful. Sadly, we didn’t get around to using the fire pit, but next time!

We enjoyed our stay at Sunny Cottage in Ellison Bay. The walkable location is wonderful. We enjoyed the wrap around porch, peace and quiet. The cottage is well furnished and pleasant. Communication with the owner was great - promptly responsive. The fresh flowers and cherry tart were nice touches. We were glad to be able to bring our little dog with us as well. We really enjoyed our stay! Cute cottage in a quiet neighborhood with a nice porch in a prime location. 2 coffee shops within walking distance, handful of beaches nearby (less than 10 min drive), and quick drive to Washington Island Ferry. Good communication with host. She left a binder with beach recommendations; one of which is our new favorite. Would definitely stay again!

We loved Sophie's cottage. It was centrally located to everything we were doing this weekend but still felt private and secluded. The house was well stocked and and very clean. Communicating with Sophie was easy and she was always quick to respond. We would love to stay here in the future.

Host is communicative and helpful. Property is very sweet with a nice garden and a wrap-around porch. Walking distance to groceries and shopping. Easy driving distance to wonderful hikes such as the Mink River nature area. We loved it.

If you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable cottage close enough to the best of everything yet quiet enough to give you peace - this is the best place you’ll find. It’s perfectly located within walking distance of a grocery, two coffee shops, restaurants and shops, yet it’s quiet and secluded, with a wraparound porch that’s a perfect spot for morning coffee and a book, if you’re so inclined. Add to that the fact that it’s pet friendly, and Sophie is just the best hostess, and you can bet that we’ll be back. We absolutely loved our stay here!

My husband and I stayed a full week at Sunny Cottage and enjoyed our time very much. The house was clean, comfortable and bright. All our requests and questions were answered promptly by the owner. Ellison Bay is a sweet and quiet place. We hope to visit again.

Our family loved this property. It is snuggled back in one of the quietest spaces in door county. It is 10 min from Sister Bay, and what feels like minutes from Newport State Park. The cottage was so clean you instantly felt at home. Needless to say we will be staying here again.

We enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage in Ellison Bay. The wrap around porch came in handy as we were able to (Covid) socially distant visit with friends during a rainy afternoon. It was a perfect size for the two of us and our Lab. Beds were comfy, kitchen was furnished with the essentials. Nice setting, as well.
