The location was great, the staff were amazing, the hotel is beautiful

Rooms for the double beds are really small and have horrible views. The location is really close to everything and very walkable. The staff was really nice. We got breakfast included which was worth it and really good. The beach staff was really nice but the actual beach was public and dirty.

Sergio at the outdoor bar was great. The room however had holes in the sheets and pillow cases. Overall it was a great experience. Will definitely be back because of the hospitality.

great beach access!

This property should not be a Kimpton hotel. The hallways and rooms were closer to a 2 star hotel than anything else. Rust in the showers. Hair and candy wrappers found in the room and bathroom. The “garden” view was cement and a rotted fence. There was no garden to be found and had to be kept closed the entire time. The AC doesn’t work well, it blows cool air but not cold air regardless of the temperature you set. Kimpton corporate needs to inspect this property asap.the only good parts are the front desk staff were friendly and the pool area was pretty nice. The rooms and bathrooms belong in the 2 star motel category.

Always a good time at the Kimpton

I really enjoyed my stay. Nice hotel, lots of amenities and good service. My only complaint is the humidity smell on the room floors, especially the lower ones. I understand that it is better to have carpet in the hallways to absorb noise, but in such a humid climate, it would be better to have flooring that does not retain moisture in the rooms. A quick vacuum of the air conditioning and bathroom fan vents would also be necessary.

Very great staff and very great hotel to stay at.

Managers were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and two vouchers were provided as part of the stay to cover 25 per person. Room bathroom was small and pool was missing tiles and appeared to be un finished. Valet takes cars to offsite parking so plan to call earlier as it takes 10-15 minutes to get your vehicle.

Great location in the heart of Sobe. Everything is walkable. Construction was ongoing but didn’t alter our plans. Nearby pool access. Social club was great for brunch. Will return to this property.

My wife and I loved the property and staff, especially Mikel the restaurant manager. But the pool renovation was extended past our stay and we were not able to enjoy all amenities. The hotel did provide an alternative which was nice. We would love to visit again but would hope to enjoy the full property. Thank You, Darrel and Monica.

Great staff. Especially Juan, Ado and Nicolas! Room was close to perfect. Staff was more than nice. Would definitely recommend! One special notice, my flight was cancelled on a Saturday night. So I called the hotel and they accommodated me without hesitation!! Above and beyond service!

Pool is closed for renovations and one of two elevators is broken.

I liked this Kimpton. It was my first time. Pretty pool area and very close to the beach. The food at the beach side restaurant at the hotel Was good too. Only complaint was that the elevator close to our room was down the whole stay.

We had some issues. Air conditioning struggled to go below 73-74 degrees. “Engineer” came and said nothing was wrong. We requested another room and had a much better experience with the AC, getting down to 66 degrees. Ice machine was not working when we arrived. Pillows were terrible in first room but better in second room. An event was held at the pool area from 6:30- Midnight with concert level music until midnight then people chatting for hours after in the courtyard. Overall not a restful or relaxing experience as advertised on the website. Will not return again. Read the other reviews. Many others had the same issues.

The room was lovely and the hotel had some good ideas such a "social hour" for free drinks, morning coffee and water stations throughout the hotel. The restaurant staff in the social lounge were accommodating and lovely. Reception staff are very poor ! Unfriendly. Unable to explain fees when asked about them. We were charged £72 by accident (someone went for dinner in the restaurant and charged it to our room) and reception refused to refund the money because it would take "up to 5 working days to investigate" however we spoke directly to the restaurant manager who sorted it within 5 minutes and apologised to us despite it not being her fault. We received no apology or explanation or help from reception. We added breakfast on which was strange, you get a 25 dollar breakfast voucher but are charged anything over this amount plus tax and service charge on the full bill despite having a voucher ! The bagel was 25 dollars, I used my voucher but was charged 6% tax and then 20% service which made it more than a bagel from Einstein Bagels which is just bizarre as its not really cheaper than going out! However restaurant staff deserve the tip considering how lovely they are, the waiter even made sure to tell us service was on and explain the charges without us asking. Hotel is due to close for a revamp which is needed. Pool was filthy, someone had literally written on the dirt on the wall "clean me"! The pool shower and lift were also broken. Advised to wash the sand off in the pool!

Great looking lobby

I feel like it was overrated. Our shower and sink were both broken and looked like just thrown together. Elevators were down. Pool had tiles missing. I was also very disappoint in the $50 a day resort fee I didn’t know about. And the. They allowed day passes for the 4th so the pool/beach area was packed!!

I’m mixed about this place. Excessive music everywhere. I should have done more research about noise level by the pool. Upon arrival in the room there was a wrapped sanitary pad in the trash can in the bathroom. I complained but nobody came to empty the trash can. The restaurant is very nice and the daily happy hour is a nice touch. The staff is nice so there are definitely positives. Good location and dining options all over.

I normally stay at the Kimpton Epic, however, my friends wanted to stay closer to the beach. The location was great, but the rooms are extremely small, interior needs renovations, and they need to fix the plumbing. I know they claim that the hotel has been renovated, but not sure what they did! Every time we used the sink and taken a shower, water would back up. For the price and the name, I expected much better. I would never stay at this location again!

We just came back from a week stay at Kimpton Surforcomber. Staff, lobby, restaurants and pool were all good. The two twin bed room was a little tight for my family of four and may need some updating. We did have a beach day which surfcomber included the chairs and towels but we had to pay $26 each for the umbrellad which should be included or at least more reasonable priced. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the kids loved the pool, hanging out and eating by the pool.
