I paid for a room and then got downgraded because of staffing shortages. I booked a king and was put in a double. I'm a bigger guy and the bed was small to me. Not the best customer service

I called before my stay asking about a small Maltese dog as it said pets were welcomed and the rate was cheap. The lady on Friday was super friendly. I explained about Sunday asking for a late check out and was more than willing to pay fee. She said that was no problem. Sunday I again confirmed late checkout & understood the late fee & said not a problem & I would be back between 12-1pm. I will gladly pay. Needless to say, the gentleman didn’t tell the next person so when I arrived two men were trying to get in the room. They were super nice but the guy on Saturday & Sunday(same person) wasn’t as friendly & didn’t relay the message to the housekeeping staff nor the next person. The carpet in the hotel & room were disgusting. They said they are renovating but no where did I see any renovations except maybe painted walls. The bed looked amazing. The bathroom was clean but the shower/tub didn’t look good so didn’t take a shower. Never stepped on the carpet without my socks on. Breakfast consisted of eggs in a crockpot with water (Sunday they were super cold), waffles with no syrup(pot was empty) after waiting a couple of minutes for desk staff & looking around just left & went to McDonald’s, I believe there were 3 types of cereal, a couple slices of bread, muffins, coffee and water. Not much to choose from but it is what it is. I couldn’t afford a lot so had to settle. Hopefully they can get all the carpets replaced!! That will make a huge difference. More but out of space

Don’t stay here. They charge $100 deposit fee that will show up as a charge on your credit card. When you call the hotel they claim it takes a week to see a refund. There is nobody at the counter when you try to check out. The hotel is extremely ran down. Not worth the price charged! Skip it, there are better hotels in the area.

I think they have bed bugs. I stayed there for two nights and huge itchy welts started the first and second night. They're all over my body by the time I left. I'm miserable.
I've never stayed at a hotel with bed bugs before. So I didn't know what was happening until after I left and showed my friend all of the welts all over me.

The hotel is definitely not a high end stay but that's why the price fits the hotel. The biggest positive is that it was clean. We had the large room (suite??). It was definitely large enough. Super clean. The loveseat and recliner definitely need to be replaced. They have seen better days. The hallways look like some work is being done to spruce it up.

Extremely rundown, hallways with old and stained carpets. Bathtub literally clogged with someone’s grey hair. “Breakfast” was miserable. The bed and bedding was the only nice thing!

The property is dirty, filthy even. I checked in but ended up not staying after walking down the dark, dirty hallway to my dark dirty room. The only upside is the the manager made it right and refunded some of my stay.

Disappointing to say the least. Very dark and dingy and the pool was closed and the whole outdoor area looked terrible. The staff was very friendly though and they’re just doing their best.

The is hotel was definitely sketchy. We drove 14 hours and needed a place to sleep. The rooms weren’t terrible and the beds were decent but breakfast was kinda ick. Ants everywhere. The whole place smelled of smoke and the carpets in to the hallway were filthy! Not what I expected from a La Quinta. Guy at front desk was incredibly hard to understand. Changed policies concerning pets but still required to sign old agreements. Our poor cats had to sleep in the car!!! Came out to a terrible mess and terrified kitties!

There were several issues within the room. First, the sink didn't drain well at all. Along with the shower, it took several minutes after finished for the water to drain. You were standing in about ankle deep water the entire time, which causes its own safety issues. Second, the toilet didn't flush well. You have to hold it till the water drained completely for it to not clog. Third, there were no smoke detectors or fire sprinklers in the room. Which according to Illinois State Law and Federal Law, is a violation. You can see where the Smoke Detector should be since there is a spot for it. It the second room that we had, there was a smoke detector. Fourth, the breakfast, at best, was meh. They had hard boiled eggs chopped up to appear like scrambled eggs. They were soggy and dry at the same time. The Waffle machine was broken and the only appetizing item was the Quaker Oats pre-packaged oatmeal that you add hot water too. Fifth, let's not talk about the dirty towels. Yes they were cleaned, but every towel in our room had stains on them. It is not hard to replace towels as they become stained or dirty beyond cleaning. Overall, there is a lot that needs to change and be updated. Considering contacting the Health Department for the Smoke Detectors since it was missing in our room.

The stay overall was very good. The only minor issues were the toilet running off and on all day and night, and one night of no hot water. The staff was pleasant and friendly, the hotel is dated but pretty clean overall.
There are no "Do Not Disturb" signs for the door so housekeeping came around daily. We ended up making a signing and sticking it on the door as we didn't need daily knocks on the door. Other than that the doors were locked at all times and we felt very safe.

To start with the first room was disgusting. Had to ask for a new room. Given dirty towels for clean ones. Mold on the shower curtain. Toilet wasnt clean. Window curtains stained and dirty. House keeping tried to force themselves into the room. Wouldnt take no for an answer. I have never been so harassed in my life. I pay for privacy and they wouldnt leave me and my family alone. I cant believe i paid for this and used me $30.00 in keys for this. This review wont let me add phones.

The property is undergoing major renovation and there is much dust and broken areas as the make-over takes place. Had we known this fact we would not have booked this time. We have stayed here in the past when the facilities were exceptional including the pool which this time was closed for the whole season. I expect when the renovation is completed this property will again be an excellent destination - just not today.

The property was under construction, so there was understandably things torn up. However, there was strong odors in the hallways. The parking lot was very torn up.

The property was under going some renovations had I known the before I booked I would not have stayed there. There also seemed to be lots of traffic in and out of the building by folks not staying there.

There were muddy foot prints in the shower and used soap and an empty bottle of shampoo on the soap dish. The floor molding was off in the entire building and the floors were loaded with trash and debris, very musty odor. A used recliner at the base of the stairs, 3 ft. weeds cover the property. DISGUSTING-NEVER RECOMMEND!!!!

The property is terrible. There were tall weeds growing in front of the building. There was chipped paint everywhere.

The carpet in the halls was filthy and old. The baseboards were missing. It seemed like the place had flooded. If there had been a flood, it should have been closed for repair. There was a terrible smoke smell in the hall that was designated no smoking.
It went from bad to worse. The breakfast item that amazed me the most was a huge slow cooker pot of COLD biscuit gravy. The reception clerk had to be instructed as to how to get it to work, by plugging it in. So, the place was serving cold gravy for breakfast. There were no nutritious items, no eggs. We left and had a lovely breakfast at McDonalds.
So, in summary, a very disappointing stay. I should get a refund, especially since I had to eat a meal elsewhere, that was to be included in the price.

It was very close to the airport. Fortunately, the airport was within walking distance because no shuttle service was available even though this service was advertised as free. The motel was also within walking distance of a very good restaurant.

Convenient street walkers in the parking lot both at night time and morning. No bed bugs, secure doors. Enter the hallway-dirty carpets. Enter the room-not the beds we requested, strong smell of smoke. Enter the 24” bathroom door and the smell of smoke is so strong you can taste it. Noisy hallway until midnight. Breakfast attendant was friendly. Food was mediocre at best, no microwave, one coffee pot. We’ll never stay at any LaQuinta again, at any price.

Pool was closed for the season - in June. Laundry facilities did not work. Bathroom floor in room was not cleaned. Our bed was not made. Hallway carpet was disgusting. Not all the exterior doors were working to allow you back in. The breakfast was opened late and ran out of items (milk, waffle mix, coffee). The TV volume in the breakfast area could not be adjusted - it just blared at you (we could turn it off).
